Want to START a business? Go here: skool.com/games
If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
    How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
    Never quit,
    Alex
    FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

I chose a mediocre person as a mediocre person. But 14 years have passed and we’ve both challenged each other to grow and be very skillful with life’s choices. The only thing that matters in the end is the degree to which you and your spouse are committed to living a life of virtue. All the rest is overthinking it.

We broke up right after watching this video 💔
Bittersweet moment, but my partner and I have been clashing heads for months now. It started as little thing, then we both exploded on each other yesterday... We discovered a number of things and, most importantly, not sharing the same end goal.
The best part was, after watching this video, Alex structure of the video allowed us to have a genuine conversation. To be brutally HONEST, and we were. How cool! First breakup that ended so pure and full of respect 🙏
I'm really sad. It's by far the worst day of my life because I deeply care for him, but we both know we can't give up on our Own Dreams.

Fellow singles out there, do not fret if you're single on Valentine's Day or just in general! It is not a bad thing to be single and I don't get why a lot of modern dating channels nowadays kinda put people down for being single.
Do not rush to get into a relationship with the wrong person, find them and get to know them by going on adventures and dates! It takes time to get a significant other and even then it may not work out.
Just do not become jaded and shut yourself off from the world, that's how life loses its beauty in all of the little moments! Cheers!

There's a lot of gems in here, I like the advice you give about being patient with dating.
One thing that I'm not completely on the same page on is the part about compromise. I don't think it's realistic for you and your partner to always want the same things for the rest of your life, and I see compromise as a necessary part for a healthy relationship. It *is* easier not to compromise, but there's also something beautiful about valuing the other person's happiness so much that you're willing to maybe give up something that makes you happy.

I have a very attractive female friend that told me that the day after valentine’s she will break up with her guy. She just wants to get the presents and the restaurant. He knows nothing. He thinks the relationship is going fine.
That guy told me a week ago that he is sorry I’m spending Valentine’s Day alone and I should not be sad because eventually I will find someone.
I didn’t say anything but I would rather be alone today, than be him, sitting with a hot girl, not knowing she told someone she will break up the day after valentine’s.

That part at 14:34 is GOLD. Even works for business partners. I admit I didn't expect a great relationship video from Hormozi, nor was I looking for one, but it' s full of golden nuggets. Yet, I admit I can't shake off the skeptic part in me. It's easy for him to have a gal that is aligned with his goals, supportive, and loyal... as he IS successful, he is growing, etc. Women's loyalty are tested when chips are down. Most of them find it easy to adjust to a man's goal and desires, especially if he is successful and on a mission. Plus, with modern laws, if she has a change of heart for any reason, she's taking half his assets. How can one NOT be cynical anymore? It's much different if she is there when you are at zero and grows along with you. But most gals go for already successful men, and the latter get blindsided by thinking how awesome it is to get this awesome so accommodating girl... as if his status had zero to do with that.

I love that you keep saying "You only need to find one." My husband and I always use that phrase to pick a new job/home/friend/etc.
We lucked out on timing when we met each other. We were both fresh out of tough relationships, so we were both pretty fed up with wasting our time and heartache on long-drawn out relationships, so we were both extremely blunt about who we were and what we weren't willing to compromise on for our lives and relationships. It just so happened that we both wanted exactly the same things 🥰
One addition to your "tips" is to set arbitrary deadlines to make an active decision to continue on to the next phase of the relationship. Being with someone who actively chooses you, and being with someone who you have decided is your person. It is seriously an unimaginable boost in confidence in yourself and in your relationship.
On a side note, I feel like your whole vibe is very "blunt, business-like, manly" and that's probably just your channel or who you are as a person, but I'd like to remind you that most people look to marriage as the only romantic outlet they will get once they enter their marriage. Taking a pause to really appreciate the beauty and luck that you found your partner and they chose you, too, is really important in not taking each other for granted. No criticism of you, just trying to throw this idea out there to anyone who this video applies to.
I liked this video a lot, thanks for the cool content ☺

External validation is when you change yourself to please other people and gain their interest and respect. This completely drops when you can look at someone and then decide how they can serve you. It's a simple shift but it's been important to my own growth
