Want to START a business? Go here: skool.com/games
If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).

THanks. Yours took 2 seconds to get to the point while the video took over 27 minutes to say the same thing.

Alex gave way better and more constructive advice that actually helps than most if not all the dating advice gurus/industry
for real …
💯
exactly, its all manipulation in traditional dating advice. And that will just never last in a marriage. it can get you sex for sure, but what is even the benefit of that long-term.
@@mvricks90 The irony which is also the reason Alex is giving such good advice here is that this isn't his niche. The people who are building a brand on being dating coaches have a vested interest in having their audience fail and having to come back for more content, courses, e-books, coaching calls, etc.
No he didnt.
I chose a mediocre person as a mediocre person. But 14 years have passed and we’ve both challenged each other to grow and be very skillful with life’s choices. The only thing that matters in the end is the degree to which you and your spouse are committed to living a life of virtue. All the rest is overthinking it.
"You have to be successful"
My retort, will she love you as much in the limo as the camry?
I don’t think somebody else willing to grow and change for the better is mediocre at all. You two never settled for mediocrity. I’m glad to hear that you two have challenged each other as people and added to each other’s lives for the better. THAT is hard to find.
Then you aren't mediocre
What a phenomenal example you both are to your kids. Love. God bless you all abundantly! 🤍🥳✌🏽
👏👏👏👏
This hit hard. I’m starting over in the relationship department at age 38. I hope I find my person where the sum of us both is better than each other individually.
I'm right there with you. It hurts. But, let's work on ourselves to become worth finding.
❤33 and doing the same thing.

I broke up with my girlfriend yesterday, and went to bed last night considering this video. Totally changed my perspective on this event, which I consider a loss, but I feel much better knowing and remembering how different our values and goals are and I think that’s why it wasn’t working. Needed this!

They’re real, but they’re all already married.
Look at the first comment.
We broke up right after watching this video 💔
Bittersweet moment, but my partner and I have been clashing heads for months now. It started as little thing, then we both exploded on each other yesterday... We discovered a number of things and, most importantly, not sharing the same end goal.
The best part was, after watching this video, Alex structure of the video allowed us to have a genuine conversation. To be brutally HONEST, and we were. How cool! First breakup that ended so pure and full of respect 🙏
I'm really sad. It's by far the worst day of my life because I deeply care for him, but we both know we can't give up on our Own Dreams.
Note to self: Although it's the worst day of my life, I'm hoping this turns into the best thing life has given me. Thank you Alex & Leila for sharing the bright side of life ❤
Wow thats very mature of you too. So you watched the video together and agreed you weren’t compatible?
@905words9 that's right. We had a feeling a while ago though... Alex's video was nicely structured - it helped us narrow down our decision.
Wow!
Amicable breaks up are another level of pain, I went through my first one like that last year and been single since. I wish her the best
I hope you are doing better a few weeks later. God bless you, stranger

Fellow singles out there, do not fret if you're single on Valentine's Day or just in general! It is not a bad thing to be single and I don't get why a lot of modern dating channels nowadays kinda put people down for being single.
Do not rush to get into a relationship with the wrong person, find them and get to know them by going on adventures and dates! It takes time to get a significant other and even then it may not work out.
Just do not become jaded and shut yourself off from the world, that's how life loses its beauty in all of the little moments! Cheers!
How do you not become shut off from the world? Other than work, what else is there where you can actually enjoy things without people taking the piss out of you?
Ok I'll just not rush for another decade 💀
Well said. The people I know who are most miserable are trapped in long term relationships

"Be successful" is good advice. I prayed for some direction in life and God told me to "simply focus on healing myself so that I can sit next to the world's most amazing people"
❤
From an older divorced guy, this is Spot ON ! Astonishingly TRUE wisdom.
I don't even know if I want a partner at this point in time. And yet this is all such a relief to hear. It is greatly appreciated!
I recently went through a heartbreak, and suddenly I realised something watching this video. If I were so happy and had so much love to give to the wrong person, I can't wait when it's the right person.
I'm currently divorced. Have been considering for the last several years about whether a relationship is right for me. This solidifies what I think already is that I need to get my life in order before I can ask somebody to be a part of my life. Appreciate this.
This changed my perspective on partners, losing my self respect in this current relationship and I was still trying to make it work. Thanks Alex as always. Keep changing lives.
This is the type of stuff that would benefit anyone on any level. Being predisposed to this level of logic and communication in relationships is awesome. I love the reframing he does, simple takes but he breaks them down so they’re easily understandable. People have said it before but Alex is a pro at taking complex concepts and refining them for anyone. I feel grateful to have watched this.
Probably one of the best relationship related videos I've seen 👌
I have literally watched 100's of dating videos.......THIS IS THE ONLY ONE,..... THAT HAS MADE PERFECT SENSE ! God Bless your work !
Love this advice so much. Please people… do not focus on temporary likes/goals/interests when choosing a partner.. be like a company and choose someone based on fundamentals instead of specifics. You may change your mind and grow into something else.
Everyone should have space for their own interests and be like two trees growing near each other… branches may intertwine but still separate
I’ve come to similar conclusions myself but to see Alex, someone who I deeply respect and admire elaborate on it is encouraging because it means I’m on the right track.
There's a lot of gems in here, I like the advice you give about being patient with dating.
One thing that I'm not completely on the same page on is the part about compromise. I don't think it's realistic for you and your partner to always want the same things for the rest of your life, and I see compromise as a necessary part for a healthy relationship. It *is* easier not to compromise, but there's also something beautiful about valuing the other person's happiness so much that you're willing to maybe give up something that makes you happy.
The only 27min video with dating advice anyone should watch! I hugely admire Alex and Leila and I think their values bring them together. Truly amazing to see especially that many people don’t believe that online dating works. You’re the living proof 🙌🏽 we need more of this!
"I want you to be more of who you are"
Having a partner who loves you telling you that would give me chills. That's someone I want to be with.
Envisioning my future girlfriend/wife saying that to me would make me want to become better 1000x more than I already did.
This was so touching and beautiful. Better than any relationship guru I’ve heard.
This was surprising helpful and had original content I haven’t heard elsewhere about relationships . The judging yourself by the wrong metrics was enlightening . Thank you for the post .
surprisingly
Great content. Perfect as a young person and as an older one. Never too late to reset what is right for you.
Being the person you are trying to find is the path forward. Awareness of our decent qualities and our not so decent qualities is key. I told a friend that i would be honest and forthcoming out the gate with any potential partner and she said, “You can’t do that! Not with these dudes out here. They can’t handle it and you’ll end up alone.” My response, “Im not looking for every man to handle it. I just need one.”
There are no words to explain how much I needed to watch this video today 🙏🏽(literally watched it twice), Leila has been such an inspiration to my journey the past 3 years and watching this video just makes me admire you guys so much more. Thanks for sharing and God bless your union forever. ❤
I don't think I've had anyone point out basically all my flaws, without actually pointing out all my flaws.

OMG! This is the second video I watched of Alex as I only discovered him today. I’m completely hooked on his amazing content. Absolutely incredible.
What works for Adam might not work for peter. I However learnt that in everything there is always a solution, 5 years ago my wife and I were on the brink of a divorce because we were having some difficulties in our marriage but we are back together ,it was a really bad phase but we got through it..
is a lot of sense in what you just said and I hope mine works the same way too, we are currently separated but I cant live without her, I love her so much. wish I can get her back I can do anything to have her back, we have tried therapy amongst other things
its always difficult to let someone you love go, but in my case I had the help of a spiritual adviser who saved my marriage from collapsing her name is Suzanne Ann Walters
I will look her up. I hope this works for me too, I really miss her.

Wow! So many nuggets in this video! I had to watch it twice. This should be the new standard for modern dating.
I watched it and it made me think of who I want to be with, it didn’t make me angry.
Way better than 99.5% of the “love experts” out there.

I have a very attractive female friend that told me that the day after valentine’s she will break up with her guy. She just wants to get the presents and the restaurant. He knows nothing. He thinks the relationship is going fine.
That guy told me a week ago that he is sorry I’m spending Valentine’s Day alone and I should not be sad because eventually I will find someone.
I didn’t say anything but I would rather be alone today, than be him, sitting with a hot girl, not knowing she told someone she will break up the day after valentine’s.
He will soon discover or rediscover the gym

Impressive that someone so young has already figured out all of the three major areas of life: Health, Wealth, and Relationships. Just goes to show that wisdom isn't correlated with age but experience.
Alex, my man. You teach me something new everytime.
Thank you.
Took me 32 years to learn all of this. And still my friends tell me my standards are too high. But I’m not asking for anything I don’t already bring to the table.

This video was so refreshing and encouraging. I'm a newbie when it comes to dating so I've watched a few dating advice videos for women which really only made me disappointed due to how shallow and bias most if it was. This video was full of meaningful and logical advice. Especially appreciated the emphasis on having a growth mindset for oneself and (future) partner. Thank you!!
I love the content, but one point stood out for me personally. I do not want a cheerleader cheering me on from the sidelines. I want a team mate, somebody that is in the game with me. Someone I can pass the ball to when I get tackled. I want to take on the world WITH someone, not FOR someone.
Wow! I am absolutely blown away at how helpful this was for me and can be for others! Great video! Thank you Alex! Saving it for myself and sharing it for anyone this can be useful to!
That part at 14:34 is GOLD. Even works for business partners. I admit I didn't expect a great relationship video from Hormozi, nor was I looking for one, but it' s full of golden nuggets. Yet, I admit I can't shake off the skeptic part in me. It's easy for him to have a gal that is aligned with his goals, supportive, and loyal... as he IS successful, he is growing, etc. Women's loyalty are tested when chips are down. Most of them find it easy to adjust to a man's goal and desires, especially if he is successful and on a mission. Plus, with modern laws, if she has a change of heart for any reason, she's taking half his assets. How can one NOT be cynical anymore? It's much different if she is there when you are at zero and grows along with you. But most gals go for already successful men, and the latter get blindsided by thinking how awesome it is to get this awesome so accommodating girl... as if his status had zero to do with that.
This video came at a perfect timing in my life and validated how everything went wrong in my relationship. Now I have clear understanding and determination in knowing what needs to be done from now on. Thank you Alex!
I found her, sometimes she is more inspired than me, which gives me so much power to move on and on! Wish anyone such a partner. No pressure, no doubts, no lies, just following dreams together and go side by side.

@@thelifewithnate by the looks of you, your balls probably haven't even descended yet. I don't know why you think that your opinion even matters.
I love that you keep saying "You only need to find one." My husband and I always use that phrase to pick a new job/home/friend/etc.
We lucked out on timing when we met each other. We were both fresh out of tough relationships, so we were both pretty fed up with wasting our time and heartache on long-drawn out relationships, so we were both extremely blunt about who we were and what we weren't willing to compromise on for our lives and relationships. It just so happened that we both wanted exactly the same things 🥰
One addition to your "tips" is to set arbitrary deadlines to make an active decision to continue on to the next phase of the relationship. Being with someone who actively chooses you, and being with someone who you have decided is your person. It is seriously an unimaginable boost in confidence in yourself and in your relationship.
On a side note, I feel like your whole vibe is very "blunt, business-like, manly" and that's probably just your channel or who you are as a person, but I'd like to remind you that most people look to marriage as the only romantic outlet they will get once they enter their marriage. Taking a pause to really appreciate the beauty and luck that you found your partner and they chose you, too, is really important in not taking each other for granted. No criticism of you, just trying to throw this idea out there to anyone who this video applies to.
I liked this video a lot, thanks for the cool content ☺
this might be one of the most impactful videos I've seen from this man
God bless you brother much respect :)
He married his Bro
On 8:30, I think this ties perfectly with what someone else on YT said on this when I was looking for ways to stop relying on external validation. External validation is when you change yourself to please other people and gain their interest and respect. This completely drops when you can look at someone and then decide how they can serve you. It's a simple shift but it's been important to my own growth
Loved this! All of these points echo what I have seen in my parents-in-law's 56 year marriage. 💛
It did come to me. That roulette wheel analogy is spot on. You have to churn and churn and churn on these apps. And the more you churn the stronger you feel about your self worth and learn how to avoid the red flags.
Born and raised in germany to a middle eastern background. Let me share a thought. The generation of my parents that have married through arranged marriages don’t are necessarily happier and all the love stuff but more compatible so the family as a whole seems happier or content. Trying to figure out how to fit my experience and this video regarding that topic.
Happy to hear the communities thoughts on it.
Having ur parents or other elder in your life approve of and even help choose a mate is typically a really good idea - from a regular white dude who’s ancestors didn’t do arranged marriages- but who sees there are clear benefits to it.
