Such a great teacher. I love how there is such emphasis on conceptual understanding and not just remembering unconnected and disorganized movements

Why have I never thought 💭 using a frame?? Thanks 🙏 Jon!!

I’m new to Bjj and we’ve gone over this pass many many times in the short time I’ve been there but never have I learned that there was a “proper time” to do a certain pass. Just that part, for me, is so helpful. Learned in 7 minutes. Thank you!!

Understanding when to use the underhook and frame was a light bulb moment for me. Will give this a try. Thanks!

This is a good tip. I normally focus on the underhook and I see it is completely unnecessary from this example. The frame and push the shoulder to the ground looks like it will work much better.

Great stuff on knee cut pass. I like to underhook, but after you explained the frame and using your weight to bring their far shoulder down, it gave me a different perspective. Thank you.

Will try the frame instead of going for the underhook next time. Makes perfect sense the way you explain it. Thanks allot, this videoformat was great 🙏

Great explanations Jon especially that last part (collar grip or undertook). You shoot in like a dart to mitigate the leg or knee from causing a problem. Thank you and keep up the great work.

when i use this pass i focus in undehook so if i m catched in halfe guard it will be easy for me to pass the halfguard because i have the underhook but next time i will try this detail thnk you oss

These videos on the guard passing are exactly what i been looking for . Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I had a couple questions . 1. could you do a video on passing guard when the person in guard grabs collar and sleeve and 2. How would you position your feet with out them grabbing them and hitting a sweep or tying up your legs ? Are you just pressuring so they are on the defensive and there back is flat and are your feet are slighty staggered ?

Hi Jon, not sure if you will see this. My hair is of similar length. My hair is long but not long enough to tie up in a pony. How do you keep your hair out of your face whilst rolling?

From the first word uttered, you get my like but really, really, I needed to hear this! I've been trying like crazy and of course it wasn't going to work...now it's so obvious, I was letting the shoulders free. I'll be trying this tonight! Oss! Hug from Brazil, happy holidays!
