BAYC is basically the Web3 version of the Fyre Festival. I'm looking forward to the inevitable documentary about it. Should be good for a couple of laughs.
You compare this to Fyre Festival by JaRule and co?? What the hell are you smoking lol. The guys behind YUGA are a lot smarter, let me just make that very clear. Jay Rule had zero experience and knowledge how hard it world be to organize a festival on an island. The logistics alone is a nightmare. They were idiots. The guys at YUGA labs are geniuses. They don’t just release stuff to get rich. Yes, land sales may go down a lot. But because the BAYC owners including myself are diamond holders, also MAYC are, the Ape coin didn’t crash like all other tokens but took off like a rocket. So the land will have up’s and down as the apes had I’m sure but always be valuable until people decide what they’re worth. Price discovery of new assets is always difficult AND VOLOTILE. The sour tweets from strangers shown in here complaining about the “rich getting richer” is absolutely false. Most apes who were part of BAYC early on including myself didn’t have a lot of money. However we believed in YUGA, the community is freaking amazing. You have apes of all talents within this 10k collection. We have held these apes from 0.08 eth or even mint from a year ago. Never tried to trade them which kept the market stable. We’re given airdropped dogs, serums (for mutants) and now land. Had people not sold early on for a few eth profit they would have made a fortune by now.
Moreover, We BAYC owners never understood what was to come, we still don’t. This is completely new territory in tech. You can’t compare organizing a festival to this, that’s just stupid. Sorry. Ape owners could never imagine that our bored apes would trade at 160 eth… But we held, during highs and lows. He’s the apes dipped as well. From 4 eth to 2 eth etc. The “rich is getting richer” is so ignorant because Yugoslavs wouldn’t be where they are now if it wasn’t for the culture, community not selling. Those people, incl myself, must be looked after as we are the foundation of this whole thing. This would happen in any business. Early investors and believers are being rewarded financially is it goes insanely well. It was also a risk attached but when looking at the risk management and assessment, the risk vs reward was clear. The reward was must greater than loss. We were fine if apes went down in price. So to everyone complaining it’s for the rich, you were either getting into NFts after BAYC had taken off or you sold prematurely for a quick profit. I remember trying to talk an ape out of selling at 32 eth because he wanted to put down a down payment on a home. I said it’s not financial advice but if you wait for 6 months to a year, your ape may be able to buy you several homes (down payments).. or buy 1-2 homes outright.. I wonder what these people are thinking now.. If they had waited, they would also be airdropped 14,000 apecoin if they kept their ape, mutant and dog. That’s over $320,000 alone. Then add the apes worth (floor price) $450,000, MAYC floor $130,000, Dog $20,000… Now land.. Close to a million worth as of now not including this land sale, airdrop… If I had missed out on BAYC, I would try and educate myself as much as possible, understand that other collections will be able to exist in Other Side. Land it there will always be extremely sought after. Look at Decentraland, Sandbox going for minimum 3 ethereum. (That’s floor price, basic land).

I'm comparing it to the Fyre Festival because both are built on vague and empy promises and people are blindly buying into it because they want to be part of something exclusive and special. The sole purpose of BAYC is selling more and more NFTs. The term "Ponzi scheme" gets thrown around a lot in the crypto space, but I think in this case it's very much applicable. Once people realize this it will all come crashing down. If you're an early investor - congratulations! You will probably come out on top. Most people won't however.
