      Unbelievably well-aged comment. Freshman in 2016 and had to review some speeches for a freshman history course. TimelessReader was a must-have.

    Wilson should have gone for quality over quantity. FDR's war address was.....what? 5 minutes? And it hit so much harder

    This is one of the most significant speeches in modern world history.

      PurpleMuleMan probably because its literally exactly the same bullshit as spoken before WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Iraq again, and now Syria. Hilarious nonsense about defending Democracy. Its been 100 years, and we now know that much of this speech was very deceptive, and even contains outright lies.
      “Without warning....” Actually the Germans placed ads in US newspapers warning citizens about boarding transatlantic ships, as many contained ammunitions, unbeknownst to the passengers. Not to mention the fact that the Germans agreed to not attack any ships, as long as the Americans held the British accountable for an embargo preventing medicine, cotton, and FOOD from reaching Germany. Some 750,000 German civilians starved to death during WW1. Wilson backed the “Babies on Bayonets” propaganda campaign. Wilson sold our country out to the banking cartel via the Federal Reserve Act. He was an atrocious president, a puppet of International Big Money.

      @@Deeplycloseted435 Thank you for bringing these facts to light. We need to draw more attention to these things which are so often neglected by those who have written and rewritten history again and again.

    • @JDP2104
      @JDP2104 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Uni BlackSister I am not. He first off advanced the American economy tremendously, and then stayed out of WW1 when he didn't need to join, buffed up the nation from the war, and then entered and ended the war when the time was right. Now I'm aware that he was a racist and suppressed any anti-war sentiment from home, so I'm not calling the guy perfect, but what he did for the United States as a country earns him a spot among the greatest presidents in my book
