They didn’t know it was foreshadowing. It would have broken their hearts. And then Neil loses his daughter. And then his wife. How can humans bear such misery? The whole Rush organization stopped and circled Neil. This band has such a high degree of integrity it makes me very proud to be Canadian and a hardcore fan since they started. I was at exactly the right time in high school in Southern Ontario when Fly By Night came out. It was near there where Neil lost his daughter. Sadly, I was to learn of that pain as well. My daughter got cancer and it took her. All I can think about is when my time comes, I hope the very first thing is that she is waiting for me. I have so much to tell her.
One of their more straight-forward, pop-oriented efforts. And I still love it. I remember being surprised at the time that it didn't become sort of a top-40 type "hit"or single - or at least get more U.S airplay. It was better than the vast majority of songs that did get airplay during the period. Then again, I'm completely biased as an unabashed, unapologetic die-hard Rush fan, so my opinion probably doesn't count for much. Lol.

I saw them on this tour also. Great show. I'm still pissed that I lost my Test For Echo shirt. I lost ALL my concert t-shirts, for that matter. I could cry.
Anyone notice the interesting footage showing geddy and alex on one side of the fence, and neil on the other? This right before the 2 tragedies he would experience, and distancing himself from his bandmates for over 4 years. An ominous foreshadowing here.
Dose anyone relize that the old man wearing a cap sitting near the sigh could be a older version of the man who was dressed similar in the music video driven from rush because he saluted and he also saluted in driven

As awesome as this is, Limelight and Subdivisions will be my all time fave Rush songs.

What half the world does every day
Half the world waits
While half gets on with it anyway
Half the world lives
Half the world makes
Half the world gives
While the other half takes
Half the world is
Half the world was
Half the world thinks
While the other half does
Half the world talks
With half a mind on what they say

Some of their best work
The first four songs (which include this one) are killer, as well as Limbo and Resist.

As big a fan of Rush as I am I had never bothered to look up this video. I think it is awesome. Very well done.
Clearly this song, lyrically, has aged very well.
It fits into Neil's character to be on the other side of the fence of Geddy & Alex. Always such a loner. tons of love and respect for that man.
