It also means that the lens of history that we have is entirely written by the winners of every war/genocide. And also by those born into wealth and royalty. Fun/wild fact, Bo composed the music for the new Sesame St movie. I love the thought of some movie executives seeing this and thinking “yes. This is who will compose the score for our SESAME ST film” Bo’s a national treasure. Btw, the colloquial version of “seeing every sociopolitical conflict through the myopic lens of your own self actualization” is: “A wealthy person of privilege seeing an injustice and co-opting “wokeism” so they can feel like they’re a good person” Loving the Bo reactions, keep ‘em comin!!! Cheers
That is NOT how I took it. "seeing every sociopolitical conflict through the myopic lens of your own self-actualization" is using other peoples tragedies to benefit yourself. I think its more of a jab at virtue signaling from the wealthy aristocrats whose policies ironically cause that very suffering.
Ohhhhh. Ok I get it now. That’s my bad, I didn’t mean to conflate “wokeism” with “virtue signaling” but reading it back I see how it came across like that. I don’t see “wokeism” as virtue signaling either, but I do see the act of co-opting it as a kind of virtue signaling. Like how corporations spend the entire month of June pretending to give a shit about the LGBTQ community, or how privileged people with no skin in the game get to pat themselves on the back for hanging up a flag or changing the color of their profile picture. They’re not doing anything to help those in need, they’re just using the veneer of “wokeism” to gloss over how their status of privilege (either personal or corporate, take your pick) is in and of itself the cause of the suffering of others. And while I am not remotely right wing, (I’m an atheist/socialist) I get why you jumped there. My phrasing wasn’t the best, and online rhetoric from the right has gotten so insidious that it’s hard to tell the difference between bad phrasing and some loaded half-truth libertarian bullshit lol
Except that private property is theft....taxation is theft, especially land tax. You "buy" land and build a home for your family, then the government can keep increasing the cost you owe them for owning your stuff until it gets so high you have to sell and move, and if you dont want to sell the home and cant afford their never ending taxation, then they can take it from you. And im talking you have a house and land worth 750,000, but you owe 1900 in taxes, they can auction off the property and pay you nothing, pocketing the equity...literal definition of theft
I've never really listened to this man before. I mean I know who he is, but never had any interest in listening. Now I am intrigued to hear what this man has to say. He speaks truth in a very creative way! Nice reaction, Trev❣️ Much love to you, ***Angie*** 😁🥰😊
The big words. Pedagogically means Teaching. Classist is defined as "Class discrimination, also known as classism, is prejudice or discrimination on the basis of social class. It includes individual attitudes, behaviors, systems of policies, and practices that are set up to benefit the upper class at the expense of the lower class". Basically saying that we have been taught in a way that benefits the upper class (top 1%).
@TrevReacts so, how you were taught that socialism is evil and capitalism is great. It isn't so black and white, and true Marxism is more pragmatic for the general good. But if capitalism is bad, then big corporations are at risk. And they don't want to lose support.
Don’t use ‘first time’ in titles of videos that it’s not your first time reacting to that artist. You’re killing your own channel that way. It’s obviously assumed that if you’re reacting to something, it’s your first time viewing that video unless stated otherwise. That’s the whole point. Using it in the title is *ONLY* meant for _introductions_ to a certain artist or topic. The reason it will kill your channel is because TH-cam doesn’t thrive on views. It thrives on algorithm. And when people look for reactors reacting to someone they like for the first time and they click on a video and find out it’s NOT the first time, they will click out of your video and move on to the next, usually leaving a dislike on the way. Their view will count, but the fact that someone closes out of your video after a few seconds tells the algorithm ‘oh, that was a bad choice. People seem to be leaving this video quickly. We should stop recommending this to people.’ And you basically wind up blacklisting your own channel because you won’t show up in the algorithm and your watchtime drastically decreases leading to further video suppression. Don’t abuse the title. You think it’s clickbait, but you’re not using clickbait correctly. You’re using it against yourself.

@Christian Donaldson The song appears to be meant for adults, but could quite easily pull a child in to view it because of the child like music theme and the sock puppet!
