@@Stories-ji7lz well technically they can via birth defects, disease, etc. Some people go blind early in life from things as simple as blocked tear ducts. I am sort of hopeful Stories version of Soulseer will be born blind, give it those spirit flame eyes from the start. Regarding Bloodbath, I like to imagine that since it's already quite different looking when born that similar differences cause one of its horns to be prone to breaking and then growing back in a split form, or simply splitting as the original horn grows.

Magnamalo would be too op for stories ngl. In stories bleed just does double damage and in rise if u have hellfire on and get hit it’s extra damage. Not to mention the fact it’s also like blastblight. So that’s two in one status effect which is hella good. So either u get rid of it, take extra damage, or die from an explosion. Not to mention the amount of aoe moves he’d get that would deal heavy damage and cause hellblight. As fun as that would be in pve the pvp players would cry over it ngl XDD
Monsters I'd personally LOVE to see in mhs2: namielle, somnacanth, magnamalo, shara ishvalda, goss harag, valstrax, vaal-hazak & now that it has been mentioned espinas as well. (kulve taroth should be a monstie at some point) I'd like to see some others as well that would not be that hard to implement since there are similar monsters/skeletons/abilities in the game already: odogaron, lunastra, aknomos, bishaten & great izuchi. (it will never happen and its probably just me but it would be cool to have the leshen fighting on our side)

If I remember correctly, there are Amatsu Monstie files in Stories 2, so with a bit of coding you could potentially get one. I know it works for Plum Daimyo.
Suprisingly, All of the Unridable Monsties in Stories 2 can be loaded in but the **only one actually Ridable is Tetsucabra (Which uses Zamtrios Animations Once on your Team) The Files do have some references to Amatsu, Great Poogie and Coral Pukei. What i find interesting is that in that leaked list from February/March (That we now know was real) there was also another Monstie right after Rathian, more specifcally Cheval's Rathian, that had a Special Name that No longer exists in the files ** Correction TCRF (The cutting Room Floor) now has Most of the Info correct. Before when i looked at it, it only Said Tetsu was ridable
The datamine of Stories 2 actually revealed a ton of unused ID for monsters. Apparently some claim that there was even an unused Namielle icon but I still need to see proofs for that.

I'm absolutely crushed by the fact that unrideable monsters are still a thing in MHS2 sincerely. Specially some of them being so iconic as Tetsucabra and Plesioth. It really let me down the fact they added like 15 brand new Monster species to the game and you can ride only half of them
Tetranadon and Somnacanth would be great water monsties. Also; The monsties being there is rough, but also seeing riders with weapons we can't have is also rough. I know it'd be cool to see how LS or the CB would work in MHS lol

Would Gore/Shagaru work in the Stories Universe despite the Black Blight existing? The Blight in the first Stories was basically written as something that had an unknown origin and the Legendary dragon got corrupt by it (I'm assuming it was an Elder dragon). If Gore and his Frenzy virus were in Stories 2 it would kind of be odd that he didn't show at all, or even hinted at, in the first game but appeared in 2. I do like the Megalas though.
Oh knowing that they can add my favorite monster to stories 2 and yet he’s not there is sad but knowing that he could be added gives me hope also to be fair I love agnaktor but imagine fitting a saddle on the giant fin on his back
I wasn't surprised that the rise monsters didn't make it into the game since they are being developed at the same time as mhs2, but I was disappointed we didn't get more subspecies from iceborne, particularly viper tobi-kadachi and coral pukei pukei, they fit right in with purple ludroth and stygian zinogre as 'recolors'. The effort to do it would have been so minimal too. At least we got Fulger Anjanath though, he's a great boi. Namielle would have been great for balance as a Water Elder too.
I think it'd be cool if Great Itzuchi was in Monster Hunter Stories in that you'd have two little Itzuchis always following you around and maybe have Navirou riding on the back of one, but that's my personal want. :P Also Chameleos, because we've got the other two of the trio being Kushala Daora and Teostra, so why not him? Plus, a Tech/Poison Elder Monstie would be GODLY I think for anyone's Poison builds his genes might bring, and I bet he'd also have the "Sneak" ability out of combat and have something to do with going invisible and using his Mist for his Kinship attack.
Not just the monsties, but the weapons, or cool character/accessories/attacks. I know the 2nd game was a gamble. So..... I hope that in the 3rd installment they add this stuff and sooo much more to the equation
At 2:25 I was not expecting to see Estark Lord of the Underworld from Dragon Quest IV in the game as essentially a Monstie as well as Alena as a Rider.
I'd have loved Abyssal Lagiacrus as a Monstie. But we really need more genes, there is a surprising lack of Tech passives for fire. The only one that's slightly useful for my builds was SLUGGER!?
I think some Rise monsters would of been dope. Goss Harag for Ice, Almudron for Water (we need some water). Magna would of been cool but i dont know how he would work, probably just end up a Fire type
And then you realize that the entire Rider battle system would be screwed up due to there being precisely TWO BLUNT WEAPONS (in comparison, there's like 5 peirce weapons, lance, gunlance, the bowguns, and the bow, and a staggering 7 (that's half) are bladed weapons)
Cotton, I feel like they’d troll you by in the roadmap only saying Crystal beard but having a few monsties on the side. (Duranburos in my top 3 hopefuls ❤️)
Like that matters, the first and last time Desert Seltas showed up was 4U, and similarly Green Plesioth hasn't shown up for longer (3U) I could keep going (Notably there are monsters who's only exposure since intro is Stories like Qurupeco, Crimmy, Green Narga, Jade Barroth, etc.)
Getting valstrax (and potentially, possibly crimson glow valstrax) in Stories 2 would be so amazing, and would be my main monstie no questions asked. Hopefully there will eventually be dlc that will add a bunch of monsties Edit: and, as has been stated by some already, base valstrax could be speed while crimson glow could be a combo
My list of monsties I'd like to see: • Any large monster already in the game without a monstie. • Magnamalo • Tetranadon • Rakna • Almudron and/ or Somnacanth • Banbaro • Possibly Beotodus (best piscine wyvern) • Dodogama and/ or Odogaron • Vaal Hazak • Namielle • Valstrax • Maybe Kulve, Xeno/ Safi or Shara (Unrealistic, but it would be cool) (All newer monsters I know (except Valstrax), most of the older monsters I like are already in the game)
I'm honestly a little surprised that a couple more monsters from mhw didn't make it in, like Nightshade Paolumu, Dodogama, or Odogaron. There's another part of me that's itching for a few old and new Elder Dragon monsties such as Vaal Hazak, Valstrax, Nakarkos, Namielle, Chameleos (another stealth monstie would be wonderful), and Gogmazios. I know most of the elders I listed have 0% chance of happening, but one can dream (edit, had to add the boi, Dodogama)
This is so sad because I wanted a Raging aswell as a Valstrax. I know we all want a Valstrax but still. AND I REALLY WANT STUFF LIKE TETRANADON PLS CAPCOM AAAAAAAAA Edit: also sad Alatreon never made it into games like stories 2.
Sadly, I don't think there will be any DLC after this roadmap. I mean, the last monster on the roadmap is most likely to be some variation of Fatalis. So unless that is Crimson Fatalis and they plan on doing another round of DLC, ending with White Fatalis, I think this is the end for MHS2 post-launch DLC.
I'm pretty sure there was a screenshot of some leaked info or something where the screenshot had something along the lines of "explore far off lands in stories 2" along with "explore new lands in coming dlc" not exactly what it says but you get the picture. My theory is, after the stories 2 roadmap is over, a couple months will pass and rise g gets announced, what if along with rise g, stories 2 wings of calamity or something is announced to released before rise g or something to give us some mh early in 2022 before maybe mid 2022 or something.
4:03 I think biggest thing I think about with Savage Deviljho is that honestly...a baby version of it would be impossible. Method of it becoming a Savage is usually consuming another Deviljho and then it warps them even further into their hunger fueled rage. I guess you could say maybe it was a twins moment and one unhatched Deviljho consumed the other making for a baby Savage Jho but still...it would definitely be something hard to explain.
I’m definitely disappointed that they didn’t added Odogaron. Like seriously it’s a demonize hyena and it’s armor based hell hound. Not to mention the fact that it shares the same skeleton as Tobi Kadachi so it shouldn’t been a issue to add it in.

Ebony Odogaron sometimes appears in the Ancient Forest and Normal Odogaron also appears in the Coral Highlands too so it doesn’t have to be exclusively in a rotten area. Besides Seltas Queen normally is seen in forests and deserts but never appeared in a cold climate area until now.
Valstrax, Lucent Nargacuga, Magnamalo, Almudron. These are what I need right now. But it would be nice to see Hyujikiki, Akantor, Ukanlos, Dyuragaua, Berkyurosu, Abiorugu, Banbaro, Odogaron, Malfestio, Torridcless, Hypnocatrice, Somnacanth, Pokaradon, Slicemargl, Gougarfs and many other mainline and frontier monsties. Also I would have liked it if they gave us Desert Seltas Queen as ridable monsties.
I would love to see Lucent Narga just because of how dope it is, also, I kind of wanted to see Ceanataur, Shogun, hell I would of even loved to ride Daimyo

I would love to see tetranodon in stories 2 we need more swimming monsties in the game I would also love to see the likes of somnacanth, aknosom, bishaten, rakna kadaky, and great izuchi basically all the rise monster in stories also would love to see chameleos in the roster too
I would have liked to ride the rocket powered elder dragon since I can just imagine the kinship move. I would say that Magala and Safi would be fun too since their adolescent and adult forms are different but when I think about it those two don't come from eggs or normal eggs like the other monsters.
I currently play MH Riders on my phone, and I can vouch for the quality of monsters & their riders’ models within the game. Tbh there are some very intriguing story beats that they take which I would adore to see implemented in some DLC or even another future game for main consoles!
I'm not a huge monster hunter fan, but I am playing MHS2 with my fiancee. I really don't like variant/rare/deviant monsters. I feel like they completely erase the need for their earlier forms. They have better stats, genes, and are easier to come by in the end game multiplayer. The only reason for them I find "positive" is that you can fill multiple roles with the same monster if you are a super fan of them.
I think we're going to see at least one new recruitable elder dragon if not more, just on the grounds that there's lots of design space for them to add more challenging content as far as what level and gear level you require to comfortably do it.
I still am mad that chameleos missed the first game and probabaly won't be in this game either. The glorified smoke machine and Michael bay kitty have shown up so many time im getting tired of em. Why does cham keep getting left out since it would be cool to have another stealth monster that isnt just narga and its variants. Having another poison monstie to pick from wouldnt hurt either.
It probably has less to do with other games and their teams and more to do with the team of Stories 2. When they came up with the roster they simply didn't pick stuff like Savage Jho for whatever reason. On the other end, a guy in Otomon Drop probably said "Vakstrax is cool, people like it, let's add it" Actually the reasons why a MH roster is specifically decided the way it is something we don't truly know yet... I mean, we may know why some monsters are there but what made devs decided a monster X over Y is something not clear yet.
You know why these monsters are in riders instead of Stories 2? Simple Riders is a gacha game Gacha in most cases means more microtransactions which also means more ways to milk the people playing the game but I don't wanna think that about capcom because they make good & enjoyable games but I won't deny I'm a little afraid of the future hopefully capcom won't go down that route
I've heard MHRiders is a bad game. For a gacha that contains amazing graphics and well-styled creatures like Monster Hunter monsters, everything could have gone well. I just really hope that this game is translated and liberated from japan so i could see with my own eyes if this game is as horrible as they say it is.
I have the game. (Downloaded in the US) and it's not as bad as other gatcha games I've played. I actually quite enjoy it. (Not a spender) I honestly really hope an English release makes it out west!

My guesses for dlc expansion monsties: all remaining world/iceborne monsters tescu, volvidon, valstrax, chameleos, other remaining deviants that are in base game, duramberos this is with the mindset of it’s just doubling the roaster also not entirely sure how this works but this is what I hope and think would come in dlc
This isn't as painful as when i realize that there are no Kusala, Teostra and Rajang in Stories 1 (the mobie version) after like 400+ hours in the game.
Who knows? Maybe we could get the equivalent of a G-Rank expansion for stories 2, I would be down for that with a new area and monsties, maybe even adding new weapon types!
valstax would be cool to ride on imagine big dragon dive bomb on the enemy that would be cool, and I would also love to see ruiner and maybe alatreon as a monstie, but alatreon is more likely to be a boss fight.
I can definitely see Alatreon as a boss down the line, likely replicating the Escaton Judgement in which you better bring weapons/monsties of particularly elements to counter its current mode. Maybe even give it a Thunder and Water phase too XD
Nathan Collier well if you beat the elder’s lair you’ll know who the secret boss monster is, he currently can only be fought twice in the game, so after the future update you’ll be able to farm him.

I want a G-rank story DLC for stories 2 that adds new maps, monsters/monsties, and a new gene rarity that makes base game monsties more viable.

Valstrax would fit so well considering how underrepresented the dragon element is at the moment. There is literally not a single speed dragon attack.

Apparently it’s even in game files that agnaktor was going to be ridable along with daimyo and plesioth.

I wasn't surprised that the rise monsters didn't make it into the game since they are being developed at the same time as mhs2, but I was disappointed we didn't get more subspecies from iceborne, particularly viper tobi-kadachi and coral pukei pukei, they fit right in with purple ludroth and stygian zinogre as 'recolors'. The effort to do it would have been so minimal too. At least we got Fulger Anjanath though, he's a great boi. Namielle would have been great for balance as a Water Elder too.
Ngl imagine fly around with valstrax, that sounds awesome man.
Valstrax and Magnamalo are my top 2 favorite monsters in the series, so I really hope we can get them as monsties someday.
I think it'd be cool if Great Itzuchi was in Monster Hunter Stories in that you'd have two little Itzuchis always following you around and maybe have Navirou riding on the back of one, but that's my personal want. :P Also Chameleos, because we've got the other two of the trio being Kushala Daora and Teostra, so why not him? Plus, a Tech/Poison Elder Monstie would be GODLY I think for anyone's Poison builds his genes might bring, and I bet he'd also have the "Sneak" ability out of combat and have something to do with going invisible and using his Mist for his Kinship attack.
Not just the monsties,
but the weapons, or cool character/accessories/attacks.
I know the 2nd game was a gamble. So.....
I hope that in the 3rd installment they add this stuff and sooo much more to the equation

At 2:25 I was not expecting to see Estark Lord of the Underworld from Dragon Quest IV in the game as essentially a Monstie as well as Alena as a Rider.
I'd have loved Abyssal Lagiacrus as a Monstie. But we really need more genes, there is a surprising lack of Tech passives for fire. The only one that's slightly useful for my builds was SLUGGER!?
I think some Rise monsters would of been dope. Goss Harag for Ice, Almudron for Water (we need some water). Magna would of been cool but i dont know how he would work, probably just end up a Fire type
Seeing all the weapons in riders makes me think it would be pretty awesome to have the full Monster Hunter arsenal in Stories 2!
And then you realize that the entire Rider battle system would be screwed up due to there being precisely TWO BLUNT WEAPONS (in comparison, there's like 5 peirce weapons, lance, gunlance, the bowguns, and the bow, and a staggering 7 (that's half) are bladed weapons)

I'd like to see Tigerstripe Zamtrios. I know that isn't relevent due to it absence from these games too, I just think it would be a cool addition.
Like that matters, the first and last time Desert Seltas showed up was 4U, and similarly Green Plesioth hasn't shown up for longer (3U) I could keep going (Notably there are monsters who's only exposure since intro is Stories like Qurupeco, Crimmy, Green Narga, Jade Barroth, etc.)
And there's a speed dragon element gap....hmmm...
Getting valstrax (and potentially, possibly crimson glow valstrax) in Stories 2 would be so amazing, and would be my main monstie no questions asked. Hopefully there will eventually be dlc that will add a bunch of monsties
Edit: and, as has been stated by some already, base valstrax could be speed while crimson glow could be a combo
I think after the current road map is finished we might see some of these if they do a second.

My list of monsties I'd like to see:
• Any large monster already in the game without a monstie.
• Magnamalo
• Tetranadon
• Rakna
• Almudron and/ or Somnacanth
• Banbaro
• Possibly Beotodus (best piscine wyvern)
• Dodogama and/ or Odogaron
• Vaal Hazak
• Namielle
• Valstrax
• Maybe Kulve, Xeno/ Safi or Shara (Unrealistic, but it would be cool)
(All newer monsters I know (except Valstrax), most of the older monsters I like are already in the game)
I'm honestly a little surprised that a couple more monsters from mhw didn't make it in, like Nightshade Paolumu, Dodogama, or Odogaron. There's another part of me that's itching for a few old and new Elder Dragon monsties such as Vaal Hazak, Valstrax, Nakarkos, Namielle, Chameleos (another stealth monstie would be wonderful), and Gogmazios.
I know most of the elders I listed have 0% chance of happening, but one can dream (edit, had to add the boi, Dodogama)
This is so sad because I wanted a Raging aswell as a Valstrax. I know we all want a Valstrax but still. AND I REALLY WANT STUFF LIKE TETRANADON PLS CAPCOM AAAAAAAAA Edit: also sad Alatreon never made it into games like stories 2.

I would personally love to see Almudron in Stories 2. We need more potent water Monsties.
Really hope crimson glow valstrax, redhelm, deadeye, crystalbeard, platypus frog, shara ishvalda, gogmazios, & goss harag will make it in stories 2
Sadly, I don't think there will be any DLC after this roadmap. I mean, the last monster on the roadmap is most likely to be some variation of Fatalis. So unless that is Crimson Fatalis and they plan on doing another round of DLC, ending with White Fatalis, I think this is the end for MHS2 post-launch DLC.

I'm pretty sure there was a screenshot of some leaked info or something where the screenshot had something along the lines of "explore far off lands in stories 2" along with "explore new lands in coming dlc" not exactly what it says but you get the picture. My theory is, after the stories 2 roadmap is over, a couple months will pass and rise g gets announced, what if along with rise g, stories 2 wings of calamity or something is announced to released before rise g or something to give us some mh early in 2022 before maybe mid 2022 or something.
4:03 I think biggest thing I think about with Savage Deviljho is that honestly...a baby version of it would be impossible. Method of it becoming a Savage is usually consuming another Deviljho and then it warps them even further into their hunger fueled rage. I guess you could say maybe it was a twins moment and one unhatched Deviljho consumed the other making for a baby Savage Jho but still...it would definitely be something hard to explain.

I’m definitely disappointed that they didn’t added Odogaron. Like seriously it’s a demonize hyena and it’s armor based hell hound. Not to mention the fact that it shares the same skeleton as Tobi Kadachi so it shouldn’t been a issue to add it in.
Thing is where would Odogaron live as there's nothing in the game at the moment that looks similar to the Rotten Vale.

Ebony Odogaron sometimes appears in the Ancient Forest and Normal Odogaron also appears in the Coral Highlands too so it doesn’t have to be exclusively in a rotten area. Besides Seltas Queen normally is seen in forests and deserts but never appeared in a cold climate area until now.

Valstrax, Lucent Nargacuga, Magnamalo, Almudron. These are what I need right now. But it would be nice to see Hyujikiki, Akantor, Ukanlos, Dyuragaua, Berkyurosu, Abiorugu, Banbaro, Odogaron, Malfestio, Torridcless, Hypnocatrice, Somnacanth, Pokaradon, Slicemargl, Gougarfs and many other mainline and frontier monsties. Also I would have liked it if they gave us Desert Seltas Queen as ridable monsties.
I would love to see Lucent Narga just because of how dope it is, also, I kind of wanted to see Ceanataur, Shogun, hell I would of even loved to ride Daimyo

I would have liked to ride the rocket powered elder dragon since I can just imagine the kinship move. I would say that Magala and Safi would be fun too since their adolescent and adult forms are different but when I think about it those two don't come from eggs or normal eggs like the other monsters.
Coming back 2 years later I wish Stories 2 had more dlc released with these monsties

I currently play MH Riders on my phone, and I can vouch for the quality of monsters & their riders’ models within the game. Tbh there are some very intriguing story beats that they take which I would adore to see implemented in some DLC or even another future game for main consoles!

I'm not a huge monster hunter fan, but I am playing MHS2 with my fiancee. I really don't like variant/rare/deviant monsters. I feel like they completely erase the need for their earlier forms. They have better stats, genes, and are easier to come by in the end game multiplayer. The only reason for them I find "positive" is that you can fill multiple roles with the same monster if you are a super fan of them.
I think we're going to see at least one new recruitable elder dragon if not more, just on the grounds that there's lots of design space for them to add more challenging content as far as what level and gear level you require to comfortably do it.
Why are the armors in that spinoff game looking so much cleaner then some of the mainline games at least in my opinion
I still am mad that chameleos missed the first game and probabaly won't be in this game either. The glorified smoke machine and Michael bay kitty have shown up so many time im getting tired of em. Why does cham keep getting left out since it would be cool to have another stealth monster that isnt just narga and its variants. Having another poison monstie to pick from wouldnt hurt either.

It probably has less to do with other games and their teams and more to do with the team of Stories 2.
When they came up with the roster they simply didn't pick stuff like Savage Jho for whatever reason.
On the other end, a guy in Otomon Drop probably said "Vakstrax is cool, people like it, let's add it"
Actually the reasons why a MH roster is specifically decided the way it is something we don't truly know yet... I mean, we may know why some monsters are there but what made devs decided a monster X over Y is something not clear yet.
Even if they don’t add some of the monsters it would be really nice if they made riders a global game🥲

Riders is a gacha game
Gacha in most cases means more microtransactions which also means more ways to milk the people playing the game but I don't wanna think that about capcom because they make good & enjoyable games but I won't deny I'm a little afraid of the future hopefully capcom won't go down that route
That and it's a mobile game which probably takes less time to implement monsters then an actual console atleast I think it would

I've heard MHRiders is a bad game. For a gacha that contains amazing graphics and well-styled creatures like Monster Hunter monsters, everything could have gone well. I just really hope that this game is translated and liberated from japan so i could see with my own eyes if this game is as horrible as they say it is.
I have the game. (Downloaded in the US) and it's not as bad as other gatcha games I've played. I actually quite enjoy it. (Not a spender)

My guesses for dlc expansion monsties: all remaining world/iceborne monsters tescu, volvidon, valstrax, chameleos, other remaining deviants that are in base game, duramberos this is with the mindset of it’s just doubling the roaster also not entirely sure how this works but this is what I hope and think would come in dlc

This also doesn’t have to do with confirmed because there is another gap between kulve tarroth and regular palamute

valstax would be cool to ride on imagine big dragon dive bomb on the enemy that would be cool, and I would also love to see ruiner and maybe alatreon as a monstie, but alatreon is more likely to be a boss fight.
I can definitely see Alatreon as a boss down the line, likely replicating the Escaton Judgement in which you better bring weapons/monsties of particularly elements to counter its current mode. Maybe even give it a Thunder and Water phase too XD

Nathan Collier well if you beat the elder’s lair you’ll know who the secret boss monster is, he currently can only be fought twice in the game, so after the future update you’ll be able to farm him.
