I built an airgun from scratch at school back in the 70s.Our metal work teacher Mr Fall used to work at Webley ,and the whole class made a gun a piece ,and the stocks where made in woodwork .Imagine that today lol
My gran worked at BSA during the Great War, making Lewis guns. In 1969, my Dad gave me a second hand Meteor. Still going strong, I bagged a squirrel with it yesterday.
It is great that there is still quality manufacturing in Birmingham. I have a BSA R10 Th in .177. It's a tribute to these guys' work, and it proudly sports a monochrome Union Jack on the receiver.
Charlie, what can I say, Brilliant. Airheads hits all the spots, Humor, Humor, Air gun Tech and even more humor. keep up the wonderful work - yes I know it is 2018 and this was posted in 2014 - sorry gents but I'm behind the times and doing my very best to catch up.... Airheads bindging....
i own ar10 mk2 had it for three years never had one problem with it the accuracy is spot on out to fifty metres would highly reccomend for rats pigeons rabbits all day long Well done bsa
I love my R10SE !😎😎😎I bought my USA version (FAC POWER) 177cal in 2020. I've shot 1000s of pellets through it. I never had one problem with it. The factory regulator is as good as anything I've seen. ES of 10, SD of 2. What more can anyone ask. And it shoots any pellet over 10gr excellent. Thanks BSA 👍❤🇺🇲
Yes I bought one, Black in 177 while I was in the UK, bit heavy but very accurate 1/2 inch groups at 32 yards and 11.8 ft lbs couldn't ask for more especially at that price. I might up the power a bit as I use it out in the Philippines where we have no limit on power.
The new target rifle (wont call it a HFT rifle) looks stunning! if BSA will do a left handed version and give us some idea of how it performs at 55yds I would buy one for use as an FT rifle and get rid of my Steyr tomorrow. As to the price I think its spot on, after all the Steyr sells at almost £2000, the AA FTP is £1400, the FWB P800 when its been modded for FT is over £2200 and the Shutz 3001 is £3000! I know of a LOT of FT shooters including an ex World Champion who use BSA barrels in their rifles including Steyrs and Anshutz so they must be good
it is a shame that are not what they think they are, i bought the apparently the first bsa ultra clx 22 in Ireland worst luck me, all the metal work rattled around in the stock where the retaining hole is over bored, after sorting that it still shot like crap i thought i still could find that some thing was loos, as i thought it might be the silencer as i went to un do that i found the barrel barrel twisted around in the body work, lucky me i must have the most expensive piece of scrap in Ireland.
if or when i have a kid of my own and if he desires an air rifle like i did id go straight to the gun shop and buy a second hand bsa mercury or airsporter in good condition better getting him a "real bsa" like my dad had than a gun made by a big red curtain for gamo to hide behind
Putting my twenty two R10th through its paces for the first time, 30 shots in and I’m putting a 10 shot group within a thumbnail at 50 metres… need a longer garden…
I am an adult, air rifle shooting beginner. I've wanted a good quality air rifle all my life, though circumstance wouldn't allow. I love the idea of a long standing, traditional British company manufacturing beautiful, world beating products, which would encourage me to purchase. However, having read the comments, with much regret, I'm confused.
It's a shame BSA have pissed their history away to Spain, the quality now is appalling, the engineer forgets to mention that the Meteor is now made in Spain and has no British made parts, I have more BSA history in my wardrobe than the sorry looking specimens they had there, they didn't even have an Airsporter, they also didn't show the tank of water that they leave their flagship R10 actions in overnight to see if they leak.
Hi there Clive. What was the main reason for why BSA Guns (Before Gamo acquired it) failed? Was it a similar reason to why BSA motorcycles failed? it's really painful that BSA is no longer a true British-owned brand & that Gamo is mowing running it.
I had a tour there. Just my personal view but I thought they really need a massive injection of cash. Everything is old, But not in a good way. Let's hope they get the help they need soon.
Ste hughes...little fella, do you realise what goes in to making these rifles? Obviously not son, whether you like a rifle or not, the companies put a lot of time and man power into making them....
So what if they are owned by Gamo, they are still making decent rifles. And it's better that a Spanish/American company swallowed them rather than have them disappear or be another name used on Chinese stuff.
While I'm sure all their new PCP rifles are still made in the UK, the BSA Lightening XLSE GRT (gas ram) was very much made in Spain, all apart from the barrel. As you can imagine being made in Spain, it broke within 4 days of using it (safety completely broke and would no longer turn on at all, piston got stiffer and stiffer to use, till it was actually harder to cock than a .22 springer). Shame really, as it was a beautiful rifle to look at and even felt lovely in the hands, but a well polished turd is still a turd, no matter how much you tart it up....
Well Ste Hughes, you give credence to the saying " consider the comments from the great un-washed" If you don't like a product, just simply say so,...don't advertise your total lack of morals, man !
I've had a BSA ultra. For the last 5 years. Hasn't skipped a beat. Ive out shot anything from weihrauch to £2000 guns obviously the shooter does play a part you probably got a 💩er. Did You buy it new And did you find it's flat spot the right air pressure. Right pellets. And did it have a regulator
Ste hughes needs to get into the real world. That is the sort of money you pay for those type of guns. Save your money, stick to a catty & buy a dictionary. Sentences dont have to contain the f...k Word all the time.
Bsa has gone to shyt.. 1200 for a ultra in a laminate stock? Ultras have gone from 220 to 400 for the single shot in last few year.. they going to be gone soon.gamo rescued them a few year ago and they done the right thing with ultras and scorpios..priced right..i bet they hardly sell now.. and now 1200 for a ultra in a laminate.. laminates even cheaper then beach to buy... I remember putting ideas to bsa, actually went there... made out like i was dumb but with in weeks were using things i had mentioned..happy to charge you nearly the price of a ultra to service your ultra.. I remember pricing a stock.it worked out for a extra 50 quid i could buy hole rifle.. Just hurry up amd close down..stop shaming us..all about how much they can make now a days.. how can the price have doubled in 2 years..340 for a lightning? Was 170 2 year ago..for the money they want now theres much better out there.. should of kept the s10 amd old prices..i give this company another 2 years and they will be lile webley..lucky they never closed down 4 year ago when gamo helped.. You should take a look were they are based and how shabby the factory is.. i woild love to know were the money goes... Hurry up amd close down amd stop shaming us brummies..
So disappointing BSA and all these skilled guys cannot build BSA Goldstar replicas instead of modern gi joe type pellet guns and weapons. Not like they are BAE selling to the gulf states, or are they? LOL! Sad for UK, Joking about Zulu's? They sorta kicked a lot of empire ass did't they. Improved Model B owner,
The interviewer is a nitwit. Aside from that, I'm not impressed with the cleanliness or quality focus in the factory, it's certainly not world standard. And I've spent a lifetime touring machining plants all over the world.
The quality of the rifles and accuracy speak for themselves. These men are experienced skilled machinists. Its a small volume machine shop tooled for air rifles. I have been to the workshops of the best guns made in England and they are hardly clean. In fact one maker if world repute had a calendar of a blonde taking the old " love torpedo " up the shitter.
I wouldn't ever buy one of their spring rifles again, The bolts that hold the rifle together are cheap and break after the warranty runs out, which is only 2 years, the customer service is awful and unhelpful, having bought a lightening xl and a super sport se they both have broken after a short period of time and are not good quality guns. i would avoid this company at all costs, they advertise quality ,but in reality they cut corners and build unreliable rifles.
Buy a single shot scorpion amd get a laminate stock made for 200 to 300.. There basicly charging best part of 800 quid for that stock.. Zero of these hft scorpions are going to sell..any one with half a brain would see what i see and certainly no one in the hft world is going to buy one... Hold on,bsa scorpio 1300 vs gaystate mk4 i wonder which one you would buy..biggest joke ever that hft scorpion is... 400 quid rifle..but a aa mpr for 500 or simply buy a ripley or isa...biggest joke ive ever seen..yea il pay 1300 for that when you can buy a ev2 gaystat mk4 steyr feinwekbau..crazy.. just shut the place down ffs..the bsa ultra and its price is what saved you before..
First time in my life bought a BSA spring rifle for my collection and it is very loud and under power just doing 8 or 9 foot pound ,what a crap air gun .
Ste hughes...little fella, do you realise what goes in to making these rifles? Obviously not son, whether you like a rifle or not, the companies put a lot of time and man power into making them....
you understand that its a £400 BSA scorpion in a fancy stock? It even says scorpion on the side. I fully understand what goes into making an FT gun, hence me thinking WTF when they try and sell a £400 gun for 3 times that.
I built an airgun from scratch at school back in the 70s.Our metal work teacher Mr Fall used to work at Webley ,and the whole class made a gun a piece ,and the stocks where made in woodwork .Imagine that today lol
I was in that school in the 70s and I say bullshit
My gran worked at BSA during the Great War, making Lewis guns. In 1969, my Dad gave me a second hand Meteor. Still going strong, I bagged a squirrel with it yesterday.
Brilliant - well done. / Charlie

Just rebuilt a Mk3 that was made for Ithaca rifle here in the states. Had to get the parts from Australia! Still a fair shooter.
i own ar10 mk2 had it for three years never had one problem with it the accuracy is spot on out to fifty metres would highly reccomend for rats pigeons rabbits all day long Well done bsa
Great video. I saw the new target gun prototype being used down the range the other day. Excellent looking rifle. And seemed to perform brilliantly
Love BSA 👍👍
I've been looking at BSA for a good while. Now more than ever. That hft rifle is a thing of beauty.
My first experience with ‘springers’ , my brother brought home a BSA Meteor in .22 almost 50 years ago.
I have always liked my BSA rifles and bikes. I still have a cadet which I have been working today.
The new target gun is amazing. I tried it and love it . Don't knock it until you try it !
Proud owner of an r10mk2.
Amazing Guns topper of with a minelli stock. Zero regrets.
Great video. Best wishes to BSA
please keep making these classic machined products in England . At least some of the models.
I love my R10SE !😎😎😎I bought my USA version (FAC POWER) 177cal in 2020. I've shot 1000s of pellets through it. I never had one problem with it. The factory regulator is as good as anything I've seen. ES of 10, SD of 2.

Great show Charlie! I'm picking up an R10 from Tony at Sandwell FS soon. Keep up the great videos and new HFT looked mint!
great show!.. this deserves more views and comments!
Nice one Charlie. I love my R10 MK 2 & Ultra SE
Loved that thanks.
Fantastic! Love my beezas
I bought a Walther RM8. Fantastic accuracy at one third of the price of a BSA.
My Rifle was here, pretty cool!
A great video
Great video charlie, and one of the best gun manufactures in the country the really annoying part is that they dont have any dealers in n .ireland

Interesting ..Do BSA only produce Air Guns these days?
There's another BSA that makes motorbikes
Blooded,dam,good,gun

Still own a meteor, actually a MK1 that was my grandads, beautiful little rifle and a joy to shoot rats with the open sights! :-)
if or when i have a kid of my own and if he desires an air rifle like i did id go straight to the gun shop and buy a second hand bsa mercury or airsporter in good condition better getting him a "real bsa" like my dad had than a gun made by a big red curtain for gamo to hide behind

Does anyone know if BSA use the new blacking process by now?
the quote from the "Zulu" film was from the Anglo-Zulu War not the Boer ;-)

Great video , shame about the Gamo connection, or ownership ,, Shane uk 🇬🇧

10:22 i'm sure he meant to say: a cheap gamo trigger
Never mind the Stetson do yourself a favour and wear safety glasses
I had a tour there. Just my personal view but I thought they really need a massive injection of cash. Everything is old, But not in a good way. Let's hope they get the help they need soon.
they need to develop a bullpup

Mi piacerebbe lavorare in cuesta fabbrica 😜
Gd video, but 1200 for a tarted up scorpion.. Wow daylight robbery
I Ve got a Lincoln Jeffrey someone gave me he was still using it for rats not many years ago 👍
Ste hughes...little fella, do you realise what goes in to making these rifles? Obviously not son, whether you like a rifle or not, the companies put a lot of time and man power into making them....
Anyone else here because of Peaky Blinders?
Can they build a regulator tho 😂

same experience the quality is shite
"We can't have bayonets." -Head of Operations, BSA 2016
How fucking ridiculous we've become over the last few decades.
Would be nice if they did not slap sealant glue everywhere having to go nuts with a hairdryer to pull them down for work
Exactly like an FX then
Well Ste Hughes, you give credence to the saying " consider the comments from the great un-washed" If you don't like a product, just simply say so,...don't advertise your total lack of morals, man !
LMFAO £1100-£1200 for a fucking BSA. You have to be fucking shitting me.
Yep, looks like you have a wealth of knowledge on the subject, How old are you again ?
I had a bsa r10 mk2 used it has a door stopper worse gun I have ever owned weihrauch all the way

Why would anyone buy a British air rifle? They're so underpowered.

Its OK mate
why cant UK citizens own pistols
Their standard of blueing is rubbish compared to other makes. Compare one to a Weihrauch for example.
