  • The Fondillón is a sweet wine unique in the world. It has extraordinary individual character and has often been served at the tables of Kings and illustrious personalities throughout history.
    This exceptional and exclusive product is only allowed to be produced at some few wineries in the Alicante region of Spain, and we are privileged to be one of these chosen few.
    It is only made in vintages of outstanding quality with over-ripe Monastrell and it is aged for over 10 years using the traditional solera system. Its high alcoholic degree comes from the concentration of sugar in the over-ripe grapes. It is totally natural - without any addition of sugar.
    The result is a wine with full body which awakes the senses and sets the imagination on a journey towards a time belonging to a different era. It exhibits a lovely mahogany colour with a copper and amber sparkles, an indication of its mature age. It shows powerful. Complex and distinctive aromas of nuts, dates and very ripe fruit. On the palate, it is smooth and mellow with hints of figs and raisins, followed by long, pleasantly spicy finish of old, noble wood.
    It can be enjoyed on its own as an aperitif or with well cured cheeses, salted foods and foie. It also pairs well with dessert, to set off such sweets as “turrón” and pastries.
    Our Quo Vadis Solera of 1972 and Pago Francisco Gómes Solera of 1988 are our jewels of the crown.
