What's The Best Women’s Road Bike in 2022? | Liv Langma, Scott Contessa & Cube Axial WS Reviewed

- While there may be a trend away from women’s-specific road bikes these days, there are still a few brands that offer race-ready and endurance road bikes with the female rider in mind.
But will the Liv Lagma, Scott Contessa Addict or Cube Axial WS, take the crown of Women’s Bike of the Year for 2022?
When it comes to price this wasn’t strictly a fair fight, with price points ranging from £1749 to nearly £6000.
But, to win the title BikeRadar contributor, Katherine Moore, sought a bike that not only plastered smiles on her face, but also didn’t leave her feeling cheated out of our hard-earned cash.
Topping out Cube’s alloy Axial WS Race range, the £1749 is the most affordable bike here, built up with Shimano 105 gearing and hydraulic disc brakes.
The carbon fibre Liv Langma Advanced 1+ Disc is nearly twice the price. But that brings the WorldTour race-winning platform, ridden by Liv Racing Xstra and Team BikeExchange-Jayco, within grasp of everyday riders.
At the premium end of the scale, Scott’s Contessa Addict RC 15 is a race-ready whippet that’ll set you back no less than £5,699.
The Addict RC is a more aggressive, aero-focussed sibling to the Addict endurance bike, while the Contessa naming denotes it’s women’s-specific focus.

Since I’m short, I’d definitely go for a women’s specific one. Even short men complain about the sizing in unisex bikes.

Was there a reason why you didn't look at the Boardman racing range for very good value ?.
The sad but true reality is that it doesn’t matter so much these days which bike is best. It which one they can actually find available. Womens bikes are impossible to even find in stock.

Her toe is pointing down heavily at the bottom of the stroke and her knee is chopping.
Not the bikes fault. Her legs are 2cm too short.
