@@Adrot While Ghideon said that the creepy screen is fake, he also said that the text that shouts "Turn it off" is indeed loaded into memory when booting the game. So... who knows.
They could turn this urban legend into an actual demon with its own side-quest in a new SMT game. You have to enter an abandoned office building to find out what happened to the demon-hunters who went AWOL. Once inside, your COMP receives this same error message, and you have to turn it off before the countdown ends. If you don't, you'll get a game over. Once turned off, this leaves you with only the demons in your party, barring you access from demons in your stock. You'll have the chance to recruit demons you encounter in the building, but for now, you're stuck in there, and the only way out is by making it to the top floor office building and unravelling the truth. As you progress through the building, you'll find the corpses of the missing hunters, who've started to rot, with the COMP's fused into their bodies and displaying the same error message. An eerie reminder that you could've joined them, had you not shut your own COMP down. Once you make it to the office, You'll encounter more corpses scattered across the floor, and the culprit; a demon, taking the form of a computer with red code scrolling up the screen, a pentagram in the centre of the screen, and a mysterious, obscured man standing in the centre of said pentagram. The bossfight begins, and the intro theme for SMT 1 is its theme song. Defeating it allows you to escape, and use the previously-dysfunctional save terminal to teleport once again. You will also be able to unlock the demon through fusion accidents, if your playtime is over 66 hours and 6 minutes. Only one other hunter survived the incident, who like you, managed to force-shutdown their COMP before it was too late. Much speculation will surround the demon's origins and intent, but aside from its Compendium entry, most of the details will remain a mystery.
Fake or not, this is still really unsettling. Protip: Filling a blank black screen with tons of red text is a good way to make something disturbing (especially if it’s a short, but meaningful, word repeated ad nauseum)
Responding to a year-old comment, but if someone wants a good example of this, look up the NES Godzilla Creepypasta's Melissa screen, it does this to perfection
I can't find any evidence that this occurs in the game's code. Point against: the game modifies its reset vector after the ATLUS screen disappears, so it boots/resets to the Star of David logo instead. It also seems to hold said reset vector modification for a good 45 seconds after power-down, which makes rapid-fire resetting to the ATLUS screen like this impossible. I'm calling bogus. It *does* write "programmed by cozy!" in ascii into RAM at 7EFFE0 though! Sneaky, Okada, sneaky!
Sadly this is fake. I was just in a stream Ghideon from AGTP was doing and he said that resetting does not cause the Atlus logo to appear so this was clearly just edited together cleverly.

I can see how this could've creeped out anyone playing this at night. It's like when I had this old laptop, and it had windows xp on it, and whenever it had a blue screen of death, the laptop would half-shut down and start playing this high pitched/low pitched sound REALLY LOUDLY, and the only way to shut it up was to pull off the battery from it. really nasty when it happened in the middle of the night.
