England warm-up for the World Cup finals by winning a friendly against tournament hosts Mexico 3-0 in Los Angeles in May 1986. Mark Hateley scores twice before Peter Beardsley seals the win, although England's delight at the performance and result is undermined by yet more injury worries surrounding captain Bryan Robson. The match is perhaps best remembered for TV viewers missing the first goal and having a pretty poor view of the second one!
