- Ellen reflected on the time she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom and described the special moment she had with Michelle Obama in what would be the start of their friendship. The Former First Lady also chatted about her upcoming 30th wedding anniversary with husband Barack Obama, their daughters' first time at “The Ellen Show” when they saw the Jonas Brothers, the progress of The Obama Presidential Center, and she gave advice to Ellen as she closes this chapter with her talk show.

Literally the best first lady this country has ever had. Her ability to relate to people from all walks of life was her special gift. She could meet a homeless person and make them feel at ease just as well as a foreign dignitary. Definitely miss her

Michelle is the best first lady ever. Classy, Harvard educated, never talks anyhow, never goes beyond what she's expected to do, raised exemplary kids all round beautiful. A true example to women around the world.

I remember attending an event when her husband was running for President in United States when I first saw Michelle Obama in person in Seattle Washington in 2008. I will always cherish that moment. I will always have a lot of respect for Michelle and her lovely family.

The best kind of people to have around you are those that bring out the best in you. That's what these two women do for each other. I disagree with probably 80% of their policy beliefs, but I love them as individual women, and I especially love them together! I have always thought of Michelle as beautiful and refined (but still so cool!), and Ellen is the epitome of kind and thoughtful. Yes, lots of folks here have commented that they should have a show together. I second that! Maybe they should do a quarterly 1-hour or 2-hour special.

Yes! My husband and I watched the nature documentary on Netflix that Barak did VO for and I literally just sobbed afterwards because I miss the assurance of his leadership!
