Just wanna qualify I am so dirt poor but still trying to make it. I certainly have no malice in myself for anyone who works hard or even just smart moves into money . When you talk like lee you would have to be obsessed plus i even recall his previous call in which he kept going on about the spurs owners yachts and how he should be giving a few million more to spurs. As a spurs fan this caller does not see the bigger picture. Im not for or against levy but i do recognise what levy has done. We have gone from a mid table team with a small stadium and poor training ground and a club that made small amounts of money compared to the bigger clubs. Levy has built a club that can compete with the biggest teams in the world financially. He has given us a stadium that is a cash cow for the club. He has given us a training ground which every player wants to train in. He has built the foundations for the club to make money. You can have an owner like Chelsea had and pump money into the players and win things but when the owner pulls out (which they all do some day) your then left with a poor stadium, poor training ground and no way of making money. Spurs will now always make money and we dont need rich owners to do it.

I believe clubs should be associations with relative public interest and own by it's fans who elect the President to serve for a 4y term. Just like Spain, Portugal and Germany. If you want to bring the petrodolars or the american sports money, get investors with whom the sporting, financial and marketing plans are agreed. In my opinion the way it is makes the clubs being just a brand which insults most of the club's history

Im a palace fan and i like both of them! parish has done wonders BUT Simon bought the club on his own in a totally different climate and time in football, there was much less interest in football at the time, If you know the background then you would understand why SJ was pissed off with parish..do some research. SJ also inherited a broken club with really bad players to boot. {players stealing training supplies and kits} Unproffesional players like Neil "the w4nker" ruddock etc... SJ did it on his own, not with multiple other investors etc.

As a Spurs fan this was cringeworthy. Daniel Levy is a shrewd businessman, and whilst generally hated by the fans, has maintained the financial stability of the club whilst keeping us relatively competitive. What fans can be critical of is his appalling strategy with the hiring and firing of managers and his poor tactics and negotiating skills in the transfer market - most of the players brought into the club have actually ended up weakening the squad.
The squad is thin, yes in term of estate : He is good, but in term of passion leans more toward american product.
He sounded kind of mad, but also kind of like he was gonna cry at any moment.

Oldham are a small club and the fans if they ran it would have the exact same issues. It has a 13000 capacity stadium and assets of about £1.3 million.
I think the fans are not being realistic and what is going to happen if fans keep behaving like this is that nobody is going to come in and invest in their clubs.
As we know, Football is an owenership based economy, not a Stakeholder economy.
Unless the fans are the majority holders of the club and invest their own money into the running if the club, they can't dictate how the owner and benefactor spends the money.

I understand the caller to an extent but I tend to agree with Simon on this, however I do think he’s somewhat arrogant more in the fact he seems to mistake eloquence as superior knowledge. I understand Simon’s point that his money is still worth that same pound as a supporters pound it’s still his personal wealth, I think people like the caller probably meant to communicate is many of the rich owners are rich and wealthy off the back of the hard work of those beneath them or with some owners via some very dodgy dealings and stepping on people along the way (though not all)

Lee is the typical Levy Out fan. They work on very short cycles. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was conceptualized in 2005 and proves that Levy has been building towards where Spurs are today.

I'm Spurs. Simon comes off as a little arrogant since he is more articulate than 99% of those who call TalkSport radio but he knows the football business very well. i share the caller's perspective to some extent and he was just blowing off steam. Fans are rightly disappointed that Spurs fall short almost every year and appear to be doing so again right now. The owners are astute on the commercial side but have been abysmal when it comes to footballing matters. Dir. of Recruiting was sacked today so maybe this is a sign that recruitment/scouting/squad management are finally being tackled. It's about time after so many resources were squandered on a sub-par playing roster.
What some fans are saying is that they are throwing their toys out of the pram because things are not happening they exact way they want to.
Fans are free to set up their own fund that can some day buy out their club.

This is what annoys me it's always the stadium or the training facilities what has that got to do with the team. A team where players have to leave in order to win trophies.A club that charges nearly 3x the amount of Man City when we not are even competiting with them when it comes to football. A club that doesn't even respect there loyal fans some of which are on there death bed and instead of offering reduced prices would rather do nothing. In my opinion spurs have great ownership..it was not always great and mistakes have been made. But what have they delivered in the past 20 years? Relitive stability, world class staduim and training complex amd grown the brand internationally..I see it as a process. Onwards amd upwards for Spurs for sure.
