    Thank you for this video. It has great information in it! I’m a healthcare worker and have been working with dementia patients for 3 years now. Before working with seniors I had no experience with the disease. It really is different for each individual who suffers with it, which makes it tricky to help them.

    My great grandma has dementia. This was really helpful and I hope she will understand and possibly remember me better before her last days.

    I found this to be very helpful.
    "SPECAL" I took notes and will use those rules when dealing with someone having dementia.
    Good video with clear and concise information.
    Thank you.

    What would somebody suggest for when a patient in hospital thinks they are in their own home, which happens all the time. They think other patients are in their house or they keep getting up to find their bedroom. I try not to contradict their reality but im not sure on how to reassure them when they are in such a strange environment

    My husband with Alzheimers in Memory Care needs a blood draw to check Depakote levels. He will not let the nurse do this job. He yells, swears, slams the wall, breaks things. How do we/they get him to comply?

    • @ecopley9013
      @ecopley9013 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can they give him a calming or sedating medication first? Also use some anesthetic cream to numb the area perhaps?

    • @jeannemccloskey9416
      @jeannemccloskey9416 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ecopley9013 thanks for your interest. Finally the nurse came again and I was there and coaxed him into have the blood draw on the same day as the flu and covid shots. It took a look of coercing. Months later, he has been given Xanax to help with continuing anger for showers. Not a good situation at all!!
