misha lvovsky gig was rather legendary locally with lawrence arms and shinobu playing under the tent on the other side of the van, mike park slinging out free hot dogs and kegged beer, and famous rock stars checking out the show and hanging out.
"And we totally ripped off a man named Toby Keith The songwriter in the world to say the least and i showed you I can lie through my teeth and that's how I learned to survive" This is by far my favorite version of Survival Song
These old Andrew Jackson Jihad videos helped me get through some of the hardest times I’ve ever had to face in my life in the past 10 years of watching them. I’m grateful for your videos, you helped kid me out more than I can express on TH-cam comments, and your videos make me smile today because I learned how to survive. 🤟
my friend just saw you guys play in nashville. i say you should come to back to TN [memphis, if you will] when I will be back there for school anytime after late august :] i enjoy all the tunes i've heard via youtube. i'm looking into getting a recording.
the hardest thing about playing a.j.j. is the rhythm, not the actual chords........his right hand style is actually pretty amazing. Everything these guys do is amazing. i just wish they were not opening for against me, i understand the opportunity but i just dont really dig em'...........Andrew Jackson Jihad deserves their own tour. Period.
Honestly...? The guitar rhythms aren't complex or particularly hard, they're just... fast. All the strumming patterns are even pretty intuitive and most are simple/basic, so they're real easy to pick up. Overall - being honest here - AJJ songs really are incredibly easy to learn. The only time where it's **possible** that some beginners **might** need to even **practice** is when bringing the strumming(/patterns) up to speed. Which, to be fair, really isn't all that hard. In case anyone thinks otherwise, I'm not disparaging any of AJJ's music here. True, I AM pointing out its simplicity, and ease of learning. But simple/basic/easy absolutely does **NOT** mean "bad", as any AJJ fan should know. In part, I'm also pointing this out because I really think that how people say the guitar in AJJ's songs is "actually soooo incredible and way harder and more intricate than it seems" needs to stop. A) It's not - but more importantly - B) That sentiment TOTALLY discourages people learning guitar/wanting to learn AJJ songs. Beginners who might've wanted to learn AJJ's music or someone looking to get into guitar b/c of AJJ might totally change their mind if they think they just **HAVE** to get way better in order to have **any** chance of playing these songs, because they're "soooooo haaarrd". Yeah no, fuck that. AJJ is simple, and that's part of their charm. Their music is easy to learn, even for beginners. Go out and learn some songs! You'll be glad you did.
they're doing that right now. Well, just Sean is. He was just in Baltimore a few days. Opening acts were shitty, but Sean was a great performer. Super nice guy too
Does anyone know where I can find the old vid of them playing in someones apartment?! I can't kind it anymore and its killing me. Its a gem that can't be lost.
@TisUsernameSucks it's okay for someone to have their own opinion. i personally don't like toby keith's music but some people do, and that's okay with me
Don't do that to yourself. Its much easier than it seems. Watch some how-to videos on youtube of your favorite songs and its cake. Even these guys, tho it sounds complicated, its really not. only fast. I just went and picked up my guitar and was able to play the songs immediately. Just practice one song after another and it becomes an addiction
it's pretty cool how this event in some parking lot is legendary to ajj fans at this point just cuz of a random vido this guy took

these ancient AJJ videos will never cease to make me happy when I'm upset. thanks for uploading these all those years ago
i live in central phoenix and Ben is a sub at my school. I always make really really awkward eye contact with him... lol. Never met Sean though.
