  • I didn't even romance Solas until another playthrough in 2022, but I sure am glad that we sacrificed all the lore in the series established to this point, and all the previous choices made by players JUST to bring closure to the Solas stuff.
There's so many storylines that the player could've been a part of: Freeing slaves in Tevinter, to possibly being part of if not instrumental to the outlawing of slavery in Tevinter. We could've had a real discussion about the racism elves face in the world, especially with "the elven gods" basically destroying the world, but the game opts for a romantic view of the world where all sensible people know racism is bad, and it doesn't actually need to be discussed. We could've seen Kirkwall again, we could've seen companions from Origins & II interact, we could've resolved any number of insane storylines from Inquisition or it's war table like freeing Hawke/etc. from The Fade! We could've had four different BioWare protagonists designed and played by players meet in a room and discuss things about thier lives!
THERE WAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL THAT SIMPLY ISN'T REPLICABLE IN ANOHTER FRANCHISE, LET ALONE IT IS NOW IMPOSSIBLE WIHTOUT FUCKING TIME TRAVEL IN DRAGON AGE.
The Qunari have just LOST THEIR ARMY?! 'CAUSE THEY WERE ALL STUPID AND EASILY MANIPULATED?
The Antivan Crows are essentially just a single family that currently runs an assassins guild that operates like assassin hogwarts?? The Lords of Fortune specifically do not raid tombs and shame folks who do, as they are altruistic explorers and party-goers who ensure artifacts go to the the ideal caretaker rather than to be sold to the highest bidder as a pirate would. You can't even have normal conversations with NPC's outisde of specfic, alotted moments in time much less ask Isabella about her time in inquisition's multiplayer, II, or Origins! It's liek why even bother, it's all so flat unless you accept it as just a soft reboot for a franchise known as Dragon Age, but more properly referred to as "The Veilguard."
