Genuine Super Sport with rare factory color combination. I drove this car home, it is one of the "exceptional" ones. The motor is smooth as silk but it makes a nice 300 hp rumble out the tail pipes. Shift the 4-speed with 2 fingers. California car originally. We have original registration. That California black plate on the car belongs to this car, the plate # is on the registration!
EXTERIOR: Really sharp satin silver paint. The metal flake is laid out evenly and there's a glossy clear coat finish that's polished smooth. The trim is really impressive. Up front the grill, the moldings, headlight bezels bumpers with bumper guards all look new. The spear down the middle of the hood, trim down the sides, the emblems, bowtie mirrors, door handles have been replaced. All the stainless trim around the windows and on top of the doors are polished like chrome. It has the optional fuel door trim. In back it's all new, the tail lights, bumpers, moldings. The vent window frame and window frames are mint chrome. All of the glass is excellent, they roll up and down smooth. The oor jambs are painted real nice, new weather strips and window seals. The doors shut like new. It has correct 1964 SS hubcaps in excellent shape on some new looking radial tires.
INTERIOR: Really sharp silver interior. It's been completely restored. There's new cushions in the seat so they firm and the new upholstery fits tight with no wrinkles. The center console looks like it's new, it as the correct reverse lockout chrome shifter. New carpet on the floor, reproduction mats and deluxe seatbelts. Upgraded LED interior lights. The headliner and visors are new, fits tight as a drum. The door panels, armrests, window cranks have all been replaced. The dash pad is new, the instrument panel is restored to look like new. All the knobs, trim, steering wheel are excellent. It has a factory tachometer and upgraded AM/FM retro stereo. In the glove box is the pouch with owner's manual.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This motor runs incredibly well. All stock- manifolds, valve covers,air cleaner etc. The 300 hp has double hump heads and 4 barrel carb. Features include power steering and power brakes. It has reproduction GM hoses and clamps. Spring clamp battery cables, the battery is properly secured. Everything is very neatly painted a smooth finish. Show quality motor compartment.

Beautiful car! This took me back to my childhood. One of my formative cars my my mother's '64 Impala sedan, silver on red, 6 cylinder and 3-on-the-tree. It was her pride and joy. My father drove a green on green version.
My grandfather had a 59 Impala that was silver on silver, I loved that car.
Boy that is sweet, my neighbor growing up his mother had a silver convertible with the same drive train can't tell you how much we loved being picked up from school.
Boy, that is a beauty. The 64 impalas have always been one of my favorite years

Beautiful restoration, but if you don't mind some nit picking.....
It has the wrong badges on the front fender or wrong valve covers on the engine. Those badges are for a 283, and the valve covers on the engine are saying it is a 327. The 327 has the same fender badge but with a "327" on top of it (so the neighbors know you got the bigger engine). Also, on the topic of the valve cover stickers, the 327-300hp engine has an additional sticker below the "327 Turbo-Fire" that says "300 Horsepower" which is missing on this car.
In 1964, cars were required by the State of California to have the closed crankcase vent system. This car has the open system which is easy to spot with the filler cap being the larger vented cap rather than the smaller sealed cap from the closed system. This car was built in the same assembly plant as my 64 (Los Angeles aka Van Nuys plant) and my 64 has the closed system.
Dip stick is incorrect, they were flat metal and black not the orange tubular one shown.
Brake booster is not the correct finish, should be cad plated.
I am pretty sure the firewall should be black, not body color.
Not sure, but it looks like the passenger door has been repainted. From some angles it looks lighter.
It has the correct fender badges for the 327. That year did not need additional letters. You are wrong so take it easy you are not right about everything, just some things. I bought one new in 64 and know some things too.
@@TruthPoliceLegend I stand corrected, thank you for catching that. The 283 had the plain V emblem, 327 had the V with flags as shown on this car, the 409 got the 409 above.
