- The BEST R34 GTRs VS Show and Display Law! Today we take a look at four beautiful Nissan Skyline GTR R34s in two very rare colors. Early model 1999 V-Specs in Midnight Purple are legal under show and display in the USA because of the little amount that were produced. Active Red in 1999 had even fewer produced but still remains illegal to import to the USA. Let me know in the comments what you all think about this. Thanks for watching!

We have R34's in the USA outside of show and display. We had a company called MotoRex which had crash tested the R33 and made that legal for Import back in 99' then in 01-02 MotoRex used the R33 data to modify R32 and R34 Skylines. Some shit went down. In the end the owner of MotoRex (Hiro) stopped modifying cars and sent them to customers without any of the compliance done because customers started complaining to the NHTSA. Hiro and another guy (Hiroki) were arrested for attempted kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon. MotoRex had imported an estimated 120 cars.
R32 GTR/GTS - 34 cars total
R33 GTR/GTS - 70 cars total
And anywhere from 14-20 R34 GTR's total. These cars are legal to drive and register with no mileage or modification restrictions. Essentially they can be registered like normal cars.
R33's were still legal for Import under VCP-32 but it was the 96' - 98' cars only because of the dual factory airbags. There was one company allowed to do it.
JK Technologies in Baltimore Maryland. They were the original company contracted with MotoRex to do the petitioning of eligibility to the NHTSA and performed the crash testing. They don't do it anymore because they sold the licensing for the process.

Now its mid 2024. If i had a time machine and go back 4 years I would have bought as many R34 as i could. Buy m spec nur for $200k. Now they are worth $400k plus. A basic R34 is selling in the USA for $165k

Love these cars, been thinking for years now to actually import one to Peru. 100k is still steep, considering value may go up 30k more tops in 5 years or so. it i’ll have to become a garage queen which defeats the purpose of owning this car.

I really want a GTR R-34 but a certain year and color, exactly like the one Jason purchased but I'll need to store it out there until it becomes legal in the U. S. I'm even considering getting 2 or 3 so I can take advantage of the market when it hits here.

Still think the 33 is the best looking of the GT-R's 🤷🏾♂️. Seems like everyone in Cali has the 32, 34, and 35 but you rarely see a 33 all over TH-cam. The 35 is the most "me too" of em all. Its like seeing a mustang 5.0 in Texas or a charger around a military base😆

Did I miss it? He didn't explain why the purple ones are legal to import and the red ones aren't. Couldn't they all be imported under the show & display rule?
The purple are legal because they’re are only a handful of R34’s that are midnight purple therefor are legal because of limited production and are rare and considered collectibles. The active red ones on the other hand are not, don’t know why the active reds are legal since In my opinion they are more rare that the MP because very few are produce in active red straight from the factory.

Even if I could afford one, I hate my country for not allowing it to be imported. If you're able to bypass the system, it'll probably be under "classic car plates" which means you can only drive it 28 days a year! That's ridiculous. And if by some way you're so connected or found a way to import it properly, don't forget there's 200% import tax plus a stupid paper called COE (certificate of entitlement) which is only valid for 10 years. That piece of paper adds on another $40k to $50k usd. I'm from Singapore by the way. We have les than 10 R34s, either 1 or 2 R33s and maybe less than 4 R32s in the whole country! One of the most expensive country to own a car! Damn! I hate my country! 😡😡🖕🇸🇬 But I love your videos bro. 😃👍🙏❤️
