Love the facade. It’s a really nice grand building and looks nice and sturdy. The use of the Harry Potter uniforms is also a really clever idea. If you ever got more of the uniform you could have kids bunking off school at the fairground. I think the naughty girl with the catapult could have a stud in her hand as a second stone that she was about to launch.
Hello Robin. I am really glad you do these smaller builds between the big ideas you think up. you do great things with these facades and they look great. I know this is going to get you shaking your head but I was thinking just to add depth and to take the wall color out a little you could add an internal wall just visible in the center 3 window sets, this would only burn the one open stud that I saw when you spun the build to put the teacher in and is she is by a door piece it would show that room inside the building feel. where I grew we had a 2 story high school and the 1st floor was all dark blue and the 2nd was light blue for the lockers and walls so our class schedule called them the sky or sea-floor. I really think you have a great plan using the school outfits for the kids. lets you have kids out in the city and you know right where they come from, and maybe a boys school uses a different house. Not that I am a lego potter fan. Loved the books and movies but own no lego sets, just Hagrids hair. I like the way the girls are escaping through the train rails and how close that looks. As always that you again for sharing your amazing city with us and all your fun ideas. Thanks for sharing the Idea. Much appreciated. I could add a back wall to the facade as this one has a bit more room than many. I'm just a brick miser. These small builds are just as important to the whole scene, in the long run!
@@RobinHoodBricks I feel you with the brick miser role. I just love the stories that get played out in the back and being a smaller less populated facade the added something would give it more. Looking good! One thing that would be fun to add is someone in a snake school mascot costume. It looks like there is a ninjago villain with a snake head, perhaps paired with a more playful torso like the lizard man collectable minifigure it would make a good school mascot.
Cool new building/facade, keep up the great work man. I've been watching you for a few weeks and your already my favorite lego-tuber and a big idol for me.

Lovely transformation and repurposing of the building. I gave the dinos to my kids and repurposed the building as a modular. I liked your school idea so much that I will rename mine as school and use many elements of the hidden side school - which sits around waiting for an idea- as a remix. Well done and thank you for the inspiration! But seriously, the 2 girls playing between the train tracks is quite dangerous, isn’t it? No wonder the headmaster is horrified...
Great facade Robin! Just a small suggestion - maybe you could place a bell tower on the top to complete the school look? You could use the one from the Hiddenside high school.
Very interesting use of that set Robin - I recall checking that out a couple months ago in regard to a different idea. I really like how you transformed it in a pretty simple way to work as a very nice looking fascade! The secondary school aspect and scene is quite amusing. Wow, another piece of art. Those facades are really looking nicely and adding really a lot to the total view of your city: I fully agree, most of the people have an island in the middle of the room, but this does not feel like an island at all.
When I did my train crossings I looked to see how others did it. In short, not many of them do. They have an unbroken, unintegrated track as a kind of wall. Boo. I wanted it going through my city not around it!
Good job. Sorry I missed seeing this early today. I had to make a trip to the city. Hadn’t been there for a month, due to the pandemic thing. Great facades. Last fall I purchased 2 Pet Shop/cafe sets (31097) and spent the weekend turning them into two separate townhouses. Each on it’s own 16x32 base plate.. One modern with the red shutters and lots of brick. The other a more stately home with the pale yellow and white trim. I added lots of extra pieces to finish them. Completely decorated inside and out. Love it. Had a lot of fun. Cheers!
I love this idea of filling the edges with facades. Love this adaptation of the Lego Jurassic Park building. I also love the way that you (like many other Lego TH-camrs) have an internal dialogue about what your city is, and what all the buildings are, and what the minifigs are doing. I adore that (also it reassures me as I do similar and thought I was loosing the plot a little) For those of us without much space I have often wondered about building a city in facade on the back of a shelf for instance. At the risk of causing you even more building work, I am surprised you leave it at just the facades, and don't indulge in some forced perspective by adding other smaller scale facades between the existing ones so it looks like the city extends further back.
That is so much harder than it sounds. The red skinny tower was a rough attempt at something less wide, or further away, and it looks exactly the same distance. I feel if I did a kind of microbuild, clearly a different scale, it would just look silly!
I'm living vicariously through you as I don't have the space sorted to build my own city (yet). @@SimonKennedymeekon5 It took a lot of waiting and planning before I got the room, haha. Yes, some people suggest things you expressly explained about not having, in the video. That's the worst!
I know this is an old video, but thanks for the tip on finding a seller who has parted out a set in order to buy a portion of it at a reasonable price. I never thought to do that!
Great build! Maybe the snake was the family crest of whoever built the old house that was converted into a school, so they just used it as their logo since Heritage refused to let them take it down.
Absolutely awesome! I like the fact that even though it's only a facade, there still is some details to the building and funny the two trouble maker girls are having two trains whooshing by them. I thought of using the hidden side school set for my school but this is an awesome idea as well. I like the amendment to the cement mixer rail car, it looks more areo. I like these smaller builds it gives some variety to your channel, but I do love the larger builds you do. As for the next video, I'm really up for anything. All your videos are great! Maybe for another facade idea you could do a library or museum? Great job Robin, awesome video and keep up the great work!
Museum is coming at some point. No library planned what with the bookstore being so similar. I liked the Hidden Side school but it's too detailed and deep for a facade and I didn't want to yield too much regular space to it!
Brick Nottingham Girls' School looks great! One suggestion: The center part of the roof is awfully flat, and devoid of features. Perhaps raising the vehicle fender arch so that its level is completely atop the Slytherin shield, might present a better aesthetic? This would add a nicer visual framing to the shield, and it would break up the featureless void of the rooftop. You may need some additional 2x2 slopes to properly integrate that section into the roof, but I think it would make the center section that much more visually appealing. Cheers!
Another nice update, thank you! (Sorry for the delay, I did watch first thing Monday morning with my coffee as usual :) I like the facade buildings, dresses up the city a bit.

Hi RBH, I like the facade. I have that set as well and was thinking of doing the same in my city as it is a great looking building. You did a nice job of modding it to fit in the space you had. I love the scene of those school girls breaking the glass of their least favorite teacher (really good idea!). I don;t like the placement of it though. I think the space you have it in would be better suited for a tall building(s). The train tracks make for an awkward placement of the school girls. I'd think about moving it to another wall in due course. But that's just my 2 cents.
What if the building was up on a hill? build up a hill from ground level on the left and goes up 10-15 bricks high. then whole building would be on top of that hill and base of building would be around level with the tram track.... then can put the kids playing on the hill slope... and maybe some nice ivy climbing up the hill and up onto the building some as well.
awesome build but to me looks dwarved by other buildings on wall and as my boss says dont point out flaws without a solution , how about a advertising hoarding(billboard for the yanks) on the roof to help off set the cost of running a school for troubled girls(they did smash the window ;) ). and an exscuse to use some of your bigger stickers.
I ansolutely love it. I was looking at this set myself for the very same purpose. Funny. But I have a friends set (which I got 2nd hand but don't have much of in my city) which I think I might pull apart and try to facade it...thanks for the inspiration Robin. BTW.. did you see the shout out that Dr McBrick gave you...you big time celeb 😆. Wonderful vid..thanks for sharing.👍👍
@@RobinHoodBricks glad you found it...it was in the last city review. I was soooo cheering you on when he said it was your idea. Thought it was good that he referenced you and really hope it brings you some new traffic..you so totally deserve it.
Nice facade Robin. I suggest moving the school 4 or 6 studs to the left to make it just a bit more visible behind the town hall. I would also add some black fence pieces on either side to give the impression of some school grounds being fenced in along the room wall. Are you planning to put any grass stalks between the tracks? Might be running out of reaching space to put those in!
I think the stern school mistress is taking a concerning look at the naked man on the high rise flats. He could well be her husband 😉 Great looking facade by the way 👍
You can easily add 60593 & 60602 in that open circle window, you know. Your only problem is getting 60593 in a stone color. Then you put the window frame, in, backwards, so you get more dept to it all.
In the low shot towards the end of the video (kind of 36:40-ish) the lovely ginger girl with the sligshot looks tilted, are you sure the white train didn't clip her slightly? Pardon my nitpickings, still love your work.

And then the wind turbine would be oddly located next to a hill rather than on it. And it would hit the building!
awesome build but to me looks dwarved by other buildings on wall and as my boss says dont point out flaws without a solution , how about a advertising hoarding(billboard for the yanks) on the roof to help off set the cost of running a school for troubled girls(they did smash the window ;) ). and an exscuse to use some of your bigger stickers.
jkirl wow nice
I think the wind turbine is to blame for the decrease in height. Don't worry, we'll have lots more tall buildings in time!
Good vid once again
Thanks. Less exciting perhaps but important!
Good luck with it. Some of the Friends stuff is quite good.
No I didn't see the shout-out. I'll check it out now!
Where was the shout-out? I can't find it!
@@RobinHoodBricks glad you found it...it was in the last city review. I was soooo cheering you on when he said it was your idea. Thought it was good that he referenced you and really hope it brings you some new traffic..you so totally deserve it.
Thanks for letting me know. That's nice!
Stalks, yes. Fences, good idea. I won't move it much though as I need to squeeze another facade in first!
Robin Hood Bricks Another facade? Even better!
That facade looks great sir. I would have picked that set up if I had found it at a decent price
Yes, I had to get creative to get it cheaply!
I think the stern school mistress is taking a concerning look at the naked man on the high rise flats. He could well be her husband 😉
Great looking facade by the way 👍
That's very true... This is now cannon as far as I'm concerned
Good observation
If so, that might be why he's playing away. The lady in the apartment looks much more fun!
Absolutely, even though his wife is a teacher the young lady can teach him more.
Lol!
Great Build. If you moved the little girl to the leftmost window of the first floor, she'd be much more visible.
Yeah, it's hard to work out what will work before it's in position. I'll move her if I add to it!
You should build the market square and the fountains if you have not already!
I've done a square and called it Market Square but it doesn't look like the real one, that's not what I'm going for. Brick Nottingham is on the coast!
@@RobinHoodBricks i wish it was in real life! 🤣
Came out great.
What’s the part number is the “unruly ginger hair”? 😂🤣😂
I can’t wait to see what goes in that corner by the Palace Cinema!
Me either. I have to firm plans which is why it's empty!
That looks really good almost like a doll's house. At one point I thought it might collapse with it being tall and thin.
You and me both. They're fine when finished!
your channel is my favourite channel
That's lovely to hear. Thank you!
Just a notice, you are missing 2 parts inside the cargo truck
Which ones? I'll have to have a look!
Inside, i think the cargo palets should be seperated by a rounded brick if i remember this set correctly
@@filipgaczkowski6693 Yeah, I pinched it for a build and then forgot, haha!
Always there to help :)
Nice school - it puts me in mind of St Trinian’s. All it lacks is Lumpy Latimer the Games’ MIstress!
That's exactly why I made it a girls' school and not one for boys!
You can easily add 60593 & 60602 in that open circle window, you know.
Your only problem is getting 60593 in a stone color.
Then you put the window frame, in, backwards, so you get more dept to it all.
good builds
Cheers!
In the low shot towards the end of the video (kind of 36:40-ish) the lovely ginger girl with the sligshot looks tilted, are you sure the white train didn't clip her slightly? Pardon my nitpickings, still love your work.
Yes, I think she did. I moved her a little after that scene and she's fine since. Don't play on the railways, kids!
I would have a parking lot or playground beside the school (on the left).
Nope, another facade is incoming!
This city is coming together well
& you will have no walls left to see after this lol great job
That's the plan. Thanks!
You should start the airport!
All in good time. This isn't very near, sorry!
Hi i like your city robin hood bricks
Very kind!
What a verry good use of that nice building! I diden't buy it because of the price indeed. Verry good tip! I love that you made it a school! Fits the architecture and verry usefull in the city ofcourse! Funny but VERRY dangerous scene!!!! I hope my daugthers will never do somting like that! 😯😉
That's why the Headmaster is so angry!
Nice
Thanks!
great videos
Very kind!
NICE
Cheers, Tomasz!
Try giving the girl with a slingshot a 1 by 1 round plate in light grey to represent a stone
I think I've done that since. I'll check!
Amazing MOC/facade!!!! How many supporters have you got on Lego ideas???
It got the full 10k in about 40 days. Really fast!
Oh that is absolutely fantastic!!! Will it become an official Lego set or don't you know yet?
We'll know by Christmas!
Robin Hood Bricks
Ohhhh okay. If it does become a set, I am definitely buying it!!!!
Oh yes every City or town should have a school system of some kind
Technically I need a boys' school too now but, maybe it's mixed!
im running outta compliments .....top class RHB
Awww, thanks. Try answering hundreds in one go!
But Robin, why'd you slow it down?
😂😂
Worked out great my friend, as usual. 8/8 on these !
Haha, I can't please everyone. Most people skip bits so it's better to leave it in, I guess. It's amazing how few people actually watch the whole video!
"You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all the people all of the time”
@@RobinHoodBricks 2020
& maybe Lincoln a long long time ago 🤫
I looks great in the back to the wall
Thanks, I'm glad you agree!
Now that is huge
It could even be bigger I think!
34:50 every time i see that a youtuber has the same set i do, it makes me happy :)
p. s. i think you're missing a piece inside
p. p. s. can you give me a link to the ideas submission? i couldnt find it :(
I totally redid it so it'll be quite different on closer inspection. The LEGO Ideas submission has already been successful, thank you!
@@RobinHoodBricks nice! but does the link still work? there were some nice pics in there...
It's still on the Ideas site!
Nice one! I understand your 'density' dilemma... If you'ld have to build 'realistically', you would probably need your entire house!
Yes, so true. I like to build in the LEGO style. I 'm definitely not going for realism.
I get a lot of suggestions for fences, ramps and toilets, all of which must be resisted!
Is that cargo truck owned by Just2good? 😆. Jk. The school is a fine addition to the city. Loving it. Keep up the great videos. And to all the people who haven't yet voted for his fast food corner, come on guys and gals. Ur being entertained by this man, the least u could do is spend 4 mins voting for him. He definitely deserves this....
Everyone needs to listen to Will, haha!
Do you ever play with your cars in the city?
Only the motorised stuff, really!
Robin i think you should build 1 moc car
SUPRA!
Pls do it
HEY Robin! I have a question. What table do you use for your city?
IKEA Linnmon, various sizes, and Adils legs and the adjustable Olov legs too in places!
@@RobinHoodBricks Cheers! thank you !
I’m beginning on my own LEGO city and I don’t really know where to start : on the outside of the city or the roads etc
Any ideas?
PS : I’m subbed with notifications on
It doesn't matter what you do as long as you do something. Just get started!
Great facade! But may i ask, what is your plan for that space next to the arcade?
Maybe a MOC modular but it's gonna be a while. Maybe something else, it's not set yet!
The catapult is a slingshot
We call them catapults in the UK. In the UK a slingshot would be the stone thrown from a sling, like in David and Goliath. Of course a sling is very different for both of us!
Robin Hood Bricks oh thanks for the info
