Director Justin! You should have a season wide bingo of these that you have for each of the boys and if you get a bingo on their board they get a point at the end of the season. They don't know anything about this and just get extra points at the end of the season
I love the concept of these hidden roles. Just hopefully next time they don't miss something like Jeremy getting 5 lands first while Jon had his mana rock with his lands.
I really like this style of hidden roles! It was hilarious when the match was stopped. Maybe it'd be even funnier if we the audience, like the players, don't know the roles either.
Deflecting Swat wouldn't target Voja, it would target the Annie Joins Up and CHANGE its target to Voja making ward trigger and make John responsible for paying 3 or it getting countered. Cory would not have to pay 3 since nothing he controls targets Voja.
Stephen should have gotten the bonus point as Jeremy was at one point thanks to being the first to control 5 lands. Which the director missed sadly thanks to John keeping the Felwar stone in his lands pile.
I do feel like these hidden roles would have been fun to have a hidden objective for a bonus point for each, make it like RISK where they get to grab 3 and then choose which one they want to try to do in this game for the bonus point... means they could get 3 crappy ones and not even try for it or they could get a super simple one for a bonus point, all random.
What if for Fan Requests the commanders are face down and they can't cast them till they can guess what they're commander is. Director gets to pick who plays what deck
was there any way stephen could have saved corey with lightning bolt for the attack of 16? to farm a point? I am not sure if any of jons creatures were under 3 toughness
45:38 am i missing something or should jon not have scryed two off of angel of rebirth. Its not blue so it would not trigger that ability off of aragorn.
just a fun tidbit; when corey used deflecting swat @42:29 he could have chosen Voja and jon would have had to pay the ward costs, not corey. he still could have chosen not to pay and let it be countered but it's an interesting choice to have to make.
With all the love but last I checked Jon, Eragon is a book about dragons and AraGORN is the king of Gondor 🤣. I know what you meant but my nerd self cant unhear the lack of the second "R"
This was great. But IMO not nearly enough hidden roles... there should have been 15 generic at minimum and 3 each for each player. The points should have been flying. Also I feel like some should have had additional effects other than just points, like giving them tokens, drawing cards or additional penalties depending on what they were.
I do love any excuse for Cheatyface to make an appearance, but Corey having Yorion as his card, which he could cast like companion's original rules, would have been so on brand.
guessing the judge-directors missed jeremy's five lands because jon had a fellwar stone and four lands also all will be one deals damage based on the number of counters, even though it says "one or more" for the trigger of the ability
Jeremy coming in 2nd and Jon being very serious about killing Corey....if this continues each episode than this could be an amazing season! Great episode theme, director!
This season should be the season of secret roles and conditions just to spice it up and keep everyone on their toes. Seemed like a lot of fun for everyone including Director Justin, maybe have a bunch of made up ones and randomly pick them and have 4-5 Justin gets to pick to make it super spicy. Great start of the season!
they just didn't want him to have the bell!! (really you should probably just mail it to their location in Roanoke with a NOTE explaining what to do with it)
Jon: I'm gonna play good magic and I don't care what anyone says. Corey: I'm gonna play with good magic, sure hope it's OK with the table. Jon: you played good magic so I'm gonna make Steven and Jeremy follow my rules. Steven and jeremy: we will just sit here and let Jon do whatever he wants again lol.
Another season of commander vs and it’s nice to see that Steven and Jon are off their periods and letting Corey play and have a somewhat board state but I will not be surprised that later on in the season they gang up on Corey again because the they’re all witches with a b
Decklists! articles.starcitygames.com/magic-the-gathering/commander-vs-393-mystery-of-the-hidden-roles/
Unless it comes up later, Jeremy's +1 for being the first player to have 5 lands in play seems to have been forgotten.
John had his Felwar in with his lands which made it look like we had 5 lands which is probably why.
Wouldn’t be a game of Magic without at least one missed trigger 😂
it could also just be being read by them as 5 mana sources instead of just lands
I noticed this as well
These hidden roles and +1/-1 golf points completely up to the director are great!
Loved seeing Director Justin on screen. Y'all should give him his own camera during games lol
Agreed
You guys put so much work into the theme for the episode, it was really unique. Loved it!
I think it'd be really funny to have a whole season of hidden roles
Jeremy was the first player with 5 lands in play and never got his card. It was probably missed because Jon's fellwar stone was with his lands.
But 0.5 points are more chaotic and fun :)
It was hilarious!!!! Totally down for more.
Very entertaining. I loved this idea. Would not mind to see another episode this season with Director stipulating his own rules.
really the greatest take on hidden roles, great game! Go green!
Director Justin! You should have a season wide bingo of these that you have for each of the boys and if you get a bingo on their board they get a point at the end of the season. They don't know anything about this and just get extra points at the end of the season
around 20:40 - When Corey hit with Sarkhan and Z&O, he would have had 4 triggers and not just two
Quite liked it.
Should make the entire season around hidden roles and half-points.
Really fun episode, would love to see more hidden roles episodes.
Jeremy was also first to sing a snippet of a song when he sung the theme to fresh prince
Technically, I think him and Corey sang at the same time
I don't think that would count as singing but I haven't watched the whole episode, so if they count quoting later then yes you'd be right i think.
I thought that, but that wasn't really singing. He spoke it with a minimum of tone or tune.
This is a really fun idea, Corey's first turn was hilarious, just what I needed to start my day 😂 looking forward to this game
I love to see more hidden roles. Adds chaos and fun to the mix.
More plz! Just missed the 5 land role for jeremy :( changed the outcome pf points at the end too
I love the hidden roles. I can't wait to see what happens in this game
Props to the editor, great ideas!
BRILLIANT! BRAVO DIRECTOR!
I love the concept of these hidden roles. Just hopefully next time they don't miss something like Jeremy getting 5 lands first while Jon had his mana rock with his lands.
I love this!!! You should do it for every first game of a season!!
Well i had a blast watching this, this is my kind of commander and i hope we see more of it. Maybe even bring back Chaos Draft Commander ;)?
Nice, this is an awesome rule subset!
I really like this style of hidden roles! It was hilarious when the match was stopped. Maybe it'd be even funnier if we the audience, like the players, don't know the roles either.
The hidden roles is always fun when you guys do it
45:35 Jon scryed 2 instead of giving a creature +4/+4 😢
I thought Hidden Rules Vanguard was a pretty cool thing to do for episodes, and look forward to more.
This was a great episode! Should do this again!
Deflecting Swat wouldn't target Voja, it would target the Annie Joins Up and CHANGE its target to Voja making ward trigger and make John responsible for paying 3 or it getting countered. Cory would not have to pay 3 since nothing he controls targets Voja.
Corey also could have targeted himself with the draw two ability, because deflecting swat lets you change all targets for a spell.
Stephen should have gotten the bonus point as Jeremy was at one point thanks to being the first to control 5 lands. Which the director missed sadly thanks to John keeping the Felwar stone in his lands pile.
If we are being fair, at the end, Stephen was drumming his fingers on the table so it works itself out either way.
I like how Corey brags about his time in the pro tour but doesn’t know how Sarkhan works
This was great.
Cool video! I think it would be less confusing if positive points were good and negative points were bad, if you do this again
Good episode. Funny

Love the twist on this, great idea
double the Avacyn, double the faith XD
These episodes always slap I love the idea of hidden roles!
Jon could have survived when Steven swung at him right? Unless I’m missing something only Voja tramples 1:28:47
love the rocket league shirt director :)
The problem with the Jon penalty on pump fake, is he doesn't have something he can do. Is thinking about something pump faking?
Director Justin killing it with the rules dude
What if for Fan Requests the commanders are face down and they can't cast them till they can guess what they're commander is. Director gets to pick who plays what deck
Seeing Ippo on the karaoke token made me smile.
This was fantastic. Lol
Jon's hidden card should have been Venser :P
was there any way stephen could have saved corey with lightning bolt for the attack of 16? to farm a point? I am not sure if any of jons creatures were under 3 toughness
Love this do more
45:38 am i missing something or should jon not have scryed two off of angel of rebirth. Its not blue so it would not trigger that ability off of aragorn.
Secret rolls are my favorite episodes.
We need to send a big bell for Cory!
just a fun tidbit; when corey used deflecting swat @42:29 he could have chosen Voja and jon would have had to pay the ward costs, not corey. he still could have chosen not to pay and let it be countered but it's an interesting choice to have to make.

Stephen the dwarf sittning there writing in his big book of grudges
There should be a role for targeting Corey first.
This was great.
But IMO not nearly enough hidden roles... there should have been 15 generic at minimum and 3 each for each player. The points should have been flying. Also I feel like some should have had additional effects other than just points, like giving them tokens, drawing cards or additional penalties depending on what they were.

fun idear
By far one of the best episodes in recently memory
Cheatyface is amazing.
Doesn't the Annie joins trigger multiple times or is only legendary creatures?
Only legendary creatures
Jeremy coming in 2nd and Jon being very serious about killing Corey....if this continues each episode than this could be an amazing season! Great episode theme, director!
.5 points for pregame actions now xD
Like, comment, don't share your role, share this video, subscribe, binge, and ring a ding the bell
Why is Corey my simian spirit guide?
Steven should of got john point for pump faking lol

Jeremy needs to start playing for points.
Jeremy bring bearded Jeremy back and the aggro player thats missing :-)
You know... I wanted to send Corey a bell, but when I emailed SCG to ask how I could send presents to these guys, I never got a response. :(
they just didn't want him to have the bell!! (really you should probably just mail it to their location in Roanoke with a NOTE explaining what to do with it)
@@Gunnarr123abc Hmm, I'll have to see if I can find their mailing address. :)
So wats the links everyone uses to submit their decks. Like moxfield or starcity, mtg goldfish?
When he said raining I heard thunder outside
Voja is too pushed :(
Gameplay starts at 9:19 (no more annoying cut a ways)
The Cory witch hunt is getting a little old, everyone is after him every episode now :( Getting old!
When you become a problem, you get delt with. There's no witch hunt going on.
Shocker, Volja wins thanks to Ward 3 being a thing.
54:34 Yavimaya Dryad will

John has become a steven clone he is such a pity little $itch the last few seasons
