    The idea of a 6 speed iron head is intriguing indeed. You are a masochistic ambitious man, sir.

    I did the same thing in 2004. I ran a 5 speed softail trans with the kicker kit. It was in American Iron magazine in 2005z My bike was a 1975, I used a 3” BDL kit on it. It was pretty cool. Sold it when I finished it. I think it’s in Tennessee now.

    • @jfrost77hd
      @jfrost77hd  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nice, yeah I thought a 5 speed would be cool too but I just built it with the parts I had at the time. It's been a cool bike and definitely something you don't see every day it's been fun. Thanks for watching!

      @jfrost77hd hey man I got a question. Nobody cuts the entire lip off the primary side. Is it just to save the effort or is there something I'm not seeing that would prevent it? That's an awesome looking bike man.

    Your work looks great, I think a shovel/sportster visor headlight and a spoon style seat would look awesome, and would really keep people guessing, it would take some knowledge to know what you are looking at. Keep up the good work bro

    Man, you got it going, that is fantastic. Been waiting for this.
    Like the original paint tank and fenders, that's something I've been looking for to go on my 75 Ironhead, original color was black but somebody painted mine before I got her.

    • @jfrost77hd
      @jfrost77hd  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wooley689 Hey thanks buddy, once you saw-zawl your engine in half you've got to stay commited or fail. Though tested my patients at times I'm glad I stuck with it and really looking forward to warmer weather to ride it. Original paint is hard to come by but a good painter can get you the look you want. Thanks for watching!

    completely badass, id like to see that 93" you have divorced with a 6 speed trans on it. that would be extremely wild. if you have gotten this badboy out let us know how it rides or acts. Im in ohio as well. not too far from you actually, we spoke last year sometime, if you ever want to get together and do some ironhead tinkering/ riding let me know and ill bring my tools and ironhead out.

    Looks and sounds great. Quick question for you do you do any customer work? Or do you just sell parts and build bikes?

      Wallie2004 I'm just selling parts and building bikes right now but plan to do customer work aswell once I get more space. Hoping to expand or relocate this summer.

    That's the way Harley should have built the sporty. My '80 sportster trans came apart from poorly made gears. 1 gear broke into 8 pieces and there was a void in the metal at each break.

    That's a nice setup. I don't care for those pipes on there. They seem like they would be right for and older model bike that's made into a bobber. I didn't even know that you could do that with the transmission. Does that solve issues with the Sportster transmission? Does it make it anymore dependable? I have a '74 Sportster that's been in storage for years, since shops never did fix it right. I would love to get it running, again. I'll save this video, for if that day ever comes.
