1UP's mistake here was orienting the pin vertically instead of horizontally. For those of us who don't have a lot of clearance to spare, it makes a difference!
Might be a silly question , what do you connect that strap to? I use mine to cover the keyhole and bottom part of the lock. I see yours is just strapped to where the hitch is inserted to the car?
I loop mine to the left side of the hitch receiver, next to where the rack is inserted. On my hitch there are metal looped mounting points on each side that are intended for safety chains (if towing a boat or whatever) and then I finish the loop around the rack itself.
Ugh!!! The lock that came with mine doesn’t fit into that hole. It doesn’t go in fully so I can’t attached the locking mechanism. Contacted 1up and waiting for a response
If you have the 1.25"-2" quick rack that one doesn't come with a hitch receiver lock. The 1.25" hitch bar lock that is included goes into the hole holes that cover the anti-wobble mechanism. I was told by 1Up once the rack is tightened down the steel ball locks the rack in place. 1up said wasn't enough material to add a hitch receiver lock hole (I don't know what that means).
It serves as a secondary safety measure keeping the rack inside the hitch from coming undone from the hitch just in case the locking ball mechanism in the rack fails. Personally I would just use a u-lock or chain lock instead of that cheesy velcro strap.
Brought mine a few months back
I didn’t get a strap with mine
I thought the lock went threw hitch itself
My rack is the heavy duty

Thank you! I purchased a velcro strap, but my understanding was that it is an extra layer of protection to go around the wheel and rack.
Ah thank you! I was so confused on how to secure it lol
Cool, thanks for this. Just got my rack and wondered how to keep it secure!
I have another lock video coming out soon, sub if you're interested in seeing more!

how long is the pin?
I'm not sure but it perfectly covers the security hitch bolt, maybe an inch to an inch and a half?

@@asuchemist3371 1up sent me a replacement lock. The one they originally sent was not correct
You did not explain the function of the Velcro strap.
