What do you guys think of the C5 Z06? Still worth it 22 years later? Let me know if you'd like to buy it or any other specific Corvette now that I'm in the position to sell them! Stay tuned for all the Corvettes to come! 👍👍
I have an 03 Z06, black with black/red interior and 40K miles. Bought it in 12 for 25K ( 24k miles) from 2nd owner who had the engine built and procharged for 685 hp. Stock wheels/tires on it so impossible to do a solid dig. Rolls on the freeway are fun, always enjoy taking down the newer muscle cars.
I have a C5 Z06 race car with 115K miles, the car was built at 50K miles, a LS2 402 cubic inch 650 HP. built 6spd, built rear end, roll cage, big brakes, harnesses. Totally upgraded suspension, Its been raced in auto cross, circle track, open road racing and all out mile. I drive it like I stole it and it takes it and still gets 21 MPG. I actually drive the shit out of it because it’s loud, rough ride, smells like oil and burnt rubber all the time. And because it’s got so many miles I don’t really worry about it.
My first vette was a C5 Nassau Blue Coupe. I put Z06 rims on it. I loved that C5. I wanted a Z06 so bad back then. I now have a 24 C8 Z06 and it is my Dream Car!!!
Here is an advice; On the test drive please show the gauges and the lights as if WE were looking as drivers. Not until 9:30 do we get to see this... also, tell us what gear you are in. Important part is what does it look like under that battery tray? And the trunk area?
I am the original owner of a 2001 C5 Z06. My car has 27,000 miles and is all stock. People don't realize how fat the new Corvettes have become. It was never Zora's intention to pile on the weight and add horsepower. I also own a C8 and a C6 ZR1. You can feel the weight difference in the C5 Z06 which makes it a joy to drive! Great video by the way!
Boy, did you ever get my attention with this one Justin. I still remember the C5 automatic that you had, and I enjoyed at Carlisle. Your automatic would have been the only one that I would bought just because you did such a wonderful job with it with your mods. Now I have to brew up another pot of my Chock full O'nuts to rewatch your video and take some notes. Save the Wave 🙋♂
A little than 2k miles a year. Honestly I’d prefer this one over the garage queens sitting in garages that are only driven once a blue moon. There comes a point where low mileage can affect reliability. Thus, garage queens are overrated. Especially for those of us that wanna drive these cars
Nice video! Just picked up one as my first sports car last year. The short gearing, eagerness to rev, and room for 295 tires up front are my favorite parts! Seems made for AutoX. Feels raw, exposed, and faster than it is, unlike newer cars. They’re holding value well, too.
Only time I see Corvettes with this age and in excellent condition is by watching Barrett-Jackson low miles 0 to 60 in 4 seconds and still will out run most cars today which is very impressive.
@@HorsePowerObsessed I taught my sister in law to detail a car with a clay bar on the thing. Back when you had to explain why rubbing a clay bar on paint was a good thing. 😂😂
I was the winner of Justin's C5 giveaway. This is also an awesome car and great review! Justin - You have an eye for great cars and quality. I agree with the comment that @petercarey5074 made. The C5 I won was tastefully modified to perfection, which is why I take it to shows just the it was when Justin gave it away. C5's are great and this one reviewed is in excellent condition. Great Vlog Justin!
@johnI4670. Thank you for shout out and I'm so happy that you're the proud owner of Justin's C5 Giveaway. I'm also jealous as well. 😊 Save the Wave 🙋♂
I drive a C5 or C6 every week. For me after driving a C7/C8. When I drive a C5 Z06 I feel like it’s waining to get the power out. Like the engine is straining to put out more power. Just my opinion.
I was pretty impressed with this one. The Z06 looks and performs well for being 22 years old. With an intake and an exhaust it would probably be a beast!
i recently bought a 2002 z06 with 3,000 miles on it. coming from a 1993 viper l'm not impressed. im having some mods done to it as we speak, if it does not wake up substantially, i will be selling it.
@@HorsePowerObsessed yeah im doing calloway intake, headers, straight pipe and tune hoping it fits what i like. suspension is too soft so i may have to do some firmer shocks.
@@HorsePowerObsessed I wouldn’t even bother. Toys4Life is trapping mid 130s through the stock exhaust with a $6k A&A supercharger on a base model C5. His ET ain’t that impressive because spin spin but 130+ mph says that LS1 is getting it done

You may consider offering a CarFax Report and show it to potential TH-cam customers in future vehicles for sale.
@@akfinestak7505great idea! Will definitely do that in the future. This one is clean though.
C5z just as fast as an ls3 car
It's nice to see the channel talk about other Corvettes other than the C8.
Yup
It was nice to do it! I would love to do it more often!

A lot of great corvette stories start with a c5!
Well, I'm back and just did my re-watch. This C5 ZO6 is the stuff dreams are made of. Well, at least my dreams are made of.
I owned a 2002 ZO6. Awesome car for the year. Kinda miss it now that this showed up.

Thank you! The weight has definitely become an issue with newer cars.
Don't sleep on the C5Z06! A runner for sure. All you have to do is look at the aftermarket and series like Spec Corvette.

Exactly. Low mileage can often times affect things that we can’t see.
Thank you for the content Justin; very nice looking C5 Z06, I’m sure it’ll have a proud owner in the very near future.

I enjoyed the review I have a 03 c5 and have been watch for alittle over a year thanks
Thanks for watching! I’m a big c5 fan myself!!
Justin.
Although I am not interested in buying the car, I enjoyed the Vlog. Very cool rundown and nice to learn about a C5.
I appreciate it! How are you liking that C8 Z06?
@@HorsePowerObsessed amazing. Hard to consider wanting to drive anything else. Even the ZR1

Very nice. Would be a great car for someone for sure. Nice rumble to it also!
💯 definitely a great car!
Indiana, PA! A great little college town.
It’s where I went to college!
I wonder how much louder it would be with headers and stock mufflers. Because it sounds pretty good
I think that might be the perfect combination!
