    Kou Lei tried to play exhibition points when he was 9-3 up in the 4th game and lost that game was so funny. Wang Wei was like, "No no no, this ain't over yet. I am a former US Open champ too (in 2016), just like you (in 2021)." 😂Good thing Kou Lei won the 5th 11-9. If Wang Wei came back and won the game, we would have another Hao Shuai moment.

      Kou Lei wasn't worried at all, already 3-1 at that point. I don't think he let off that gas that much in game 4 though. Wang Wei made some really good shots he didn't do before.

      @@chimyshark I know Kou Lei wasn't worried. But in hindsight, I think maybe Kou Lei should've waited till 10-3 to play the exhibition point. At 9-3, it was a little bit of showboating... Maybe that pissed off Wang Wei a little bit, and that made him play better in game 5.

    Please, does anyone know what combo athlete Wang Wei is playing? thank you!

      He's using a hurricane 3 on forehand and some sort of spectol pimple rubber on backhand. I took a picture of it but I'm not sure exactly which spectol it is.

    May I ask what kind of blade and rubber blade combo does Wang Wei play far from the table? Thank you very much!

      When he won the 2016 US Open, he used Chinese rubber (Hurricane 3 most likely) on the forehand and short or medium pips on the backhand. When I saw him in person in May in IL this year, I don't think he changed to anything too different, if anything at all. I am not too sure about the blade, but it is definitely not a slow defensive blade.

      @ItisSuperfluous ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kaizhangtabletennis yeah I know his previous equipment was hurricane 3 forehand, special backhand with a Victas Koji Matsushita Offensive. but this was around 2016 and from the video I can tell that the blade has changed. Maybe the DHS chopping blade that Ma Te uses as well.

    • @kaizhangtabletennis
      @kaizhangtabletennis ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ItisSuperfluous Maybe. I didn't get a good look at his blade a few months ago. That DHS 08X blade is getting more popular in the past year. I am not a fan of that blade though (even though I haven't tried it yet). I heard it is too fast to chop consistently.
