Thanks, this confirmed that the subtle high pitch cricket noise mine makes when the compressor kicks on is normal (yours sounds the same). Still much preferable to my previous air conditioner which made the typical BAGAAGANG noise when the compressor kicks on (which this one does not).
What does it sound like when the compressor kicks in and out? My current portable AC (Delonghi) makes loud clunking noises when it switches the compressor on and off to regulate the temperature.
The startup on Low part 0:12 is the loudest that the Compressor gets and the sound of the compressor just fades away / disappears when the compressor turns off, It doesn't really clunk
@@zperretta Great, thank you for the info. I think I'm going to upgrade to this one. My current AC is just too loud to keep running overnight in the bedroom.
@@spocker I bought this unit and once it gets to the temperature you set it is whisper quite. All A/C have compressors the when they kick in are a bit loud so there is no way around it. I love my Medea Duo 12,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner.
@@mv-db4463 Thank you, that’s what I was hoping this AC would be like. The one I have now is very loud, with this loud clunk every time the compressor kicks in. I think I’m going to pull the trigger and buy this one.
@@spocker You are more than welcome. Just make sure there is a store return policy for defective ones. I have purchased other manufacturers AC's and it is hit and miss so you want to be able to return a defective AC no matter which manufacturer's AC or store you buy it from. BTW - I bought mine from Costco (CA) and they have a GREAT return policy AND I DID have to return a defective AC (broken wheel when delivered) sooo I was glad I went with a store with a good return policy. Good luck !
How many feet from the ground is your window? I have a sliding window that is 3 ft from the ground but ive heard that the hose is really short and wont attach to windows more than 2 feet from the ground.
Mine does measure out to roughly 3 ft from the base of the tube at the air conditioner to the end of the tube at the window. Although part of that is because it runs very awkwardly to get there.
On another video someone mentioned they put their's on a mini fridge stand to elevate the unit if any water needs to be taken out from the drain port. Could possibly help to add some extra reach to your window
