  • Voice Coach Tamara Beatty works with singers, speakers, entertainers and professionals to optimize, brand, and rehabilitate their voices. But even though she is considered an expert in training the physical voice, she has come to realize that our real voice is not physical in nature at all. Her work helping bring back voices when they have been lost on tour as well as her specialty work helping individuals reclaim their voices when they have been taken away due to abuse or trauma, has given her a rare and unique window of understanding of what a voice really is, and the unsuspecting power it holds for us all. Whether you’re a speaker, leader, professional, singer, trailblazer, entrepreneur, artist, or event parent - she shares how your real voice, the one she calls the Capital V voice, is the motor and power for everything you do, and may just be THE most powerful instrument you have to access your greatness, live your purpose, and make your authentic impact in the world. Tamara Beatty is entering her eleventh season as a voice coach on the NBC Emmy Award-winning show “The Voice”, is a former competitive athlete coached by three Olympic coaches, and is a highly sought after consultant. She is known for her ability to draw out qualities in a person’s voice, presence, and performance that instantly make them appear more professional, authoritative, and memorable. Whether she’s working with celebrities, emerging artists, or business professionals, she aims to help people find and operate from their true, authentic voices so their messages have more meaning and impact. Tamara is an educator at heart who has a respected track record of creating education for multiple national and international organizations. She also uses her experience as an athlete to help individuals achieve peak performance, even under high pressure. With her combined experiences,Tamara is a force whose speaking style is precise, intuitive, and powerful. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Thank you Tamara! What a powerful message, thanks for make us think we have to raise our voice if we have to, and pay more attention to the inner (and powerful) one voice we have.

Tamara…this came at a brilliant junction. I am helping students/patients suffering from anxiety and depression. In my quest realised that voice needs to open to help them open their inner emotions and your video has underlined the fact so clearly. Rather it has taken things to all new level. Thank you. You are a Gem!!!

What an incredibly moving video. Tamara is an inspiration, her passion is beautiful. Profound and empowering, everybody should have a voice! I’m a British English language trainer in Italy and I often see in my students that it’s not a lack of language skills that holds them back but deeper psychological factors. Thank you.

It live before your thoughts and your words listen at 14:35 Isaiah 30:21

I'm somewhat skeptical about this idea. What Tamara is saying is successful, yes, but she has a tend to exaggerate the perks and successes of a voice to the point of infallibility when she said that this voice is "powerful beyond belief." While violence doesn't solve everything, Pacifism/non-violence is even more ridiculous. What if tyrants decide to kill people to prevent their opposition from blowing the whistle on them, taking away your voice, ultimately and your life, in the process?
Or better yet, here's a different scenario: What if the oligarch's such a speaker it catches people off-guard? Sure it'll sound innocent at first, with the oligarch letting out a promising speech. until one looks deep into their history and find something that implicates the oligarch, or the oligarch does something contradictory to their speech, then it all falls apart. A voice, if practiced enough, can deceive.
To Tamara Beatty, I say this: No, a person's voice isn't always so much more. It can help people out of depression and anxiety, but it's not so useful when that voice gets oppressed, doesn't it?

Ok so presence and sense of identity. That's what she can't seem to articulate.
There. I saved you 12 agonizing minutes of yawn and drag out.
