    This video helped me understand exactly the mechanisms that I was trying to learn more about with my machine. Additionally the video format and style is just really good for any repair video. seriously can't appreciate enough how the still frames just show the machine coming apart or going back together. It's like a living diagram of the machine parts and assembly. 😊

    Give this video 2 thumbs up. I have watched a dozen of repair videos and this one is the best, ESPECIALLY when it comes to properly positioning the clutch springs, you sir gave by far the easiest explanation. THANK YOU!

    SAVED MY ASS😅!! replaced the clutch and the tranny was 1/4 " from bolting down. The drive shaft pinion gear was hitting the center of the brake assembly. I didnt realize the brake was sticking out to far as the pads came to the edge of the "drum" just like drum breaks. Tunred it gave it a shove and it went way up in there lol.
    Only thing is i have to REALLY turn the brake to get the spring to compress and get the assembly to turn and it sticks a little. So i may have another issue and not the clutch but that okay i see it now. My brakes are agaisnt the metal housing. 😅 holy crap i was prepared to crack the tranny thinking something was jaming up the pinion gear. 🎉😅

    To everyone out there who has checked the clutch, and checked the motor coupler and both seem to be fine, if that drive tube was difficult to get out (as it was for me), and difficult to push back in(as it was for me) your problem lies inside of the middle hole in the outer basket. After i used penatrating oil, stuffed some paper towels inside and pushed it out with a broom, i then used some lubricating oil to and pushed the drive tube back in. It was still a little difficult, so i took it back out and reapeted the steps. And ill be damned, but its working perfectly again!

    Great video. My whirlpool is like this one. It makes a loud grinding noise when the spin cycle engages. I replaced the clutch assembly and brake cam but no fix. The center hub is in good shape as you described. What else do I need to look at?

      @@quarntraviousgladden8833 I'm going to answer yes and no. I purchased a new transmission from whirlpool which fixed the problem. However, those transmissions are "cluncky" between cycles. At least I have a way to wash clothes again. It cost me around $200 from Amazon.

    Thank you for the wrench. My washer is a Whirlpool WTW57ESVW1 top loading. I was checking the fill level/temperature control (third one in my machine) thinking that clear hose was loose. Anyway, my panel console has the C shaped clip 8312709 (you need to slide a putty knife under to let console flip up. Anyway, clip on the left popped out. I looked high and low and could not find it. Did not pull off outer sheet metal box. I think it may have sprung over on the white plastic Tub Ring W10167984 and went down that grilled area that appears to be an opening for water to go into the plastic outer tub. Think it can get to the pump or when the washer spins, will it tear a hole in the plastic tub?
    Thanks for any suggestion.

      @@theapplianceman direct drive whirlpool washer m # 110.24622300
      I hope someone can help me. I have a washer that I am unable to turn the coupler on the transmission clockwise it will only turn counter clockwise BUT with motor and transmission out of washer both spin freely. Since I am currently unemployed I have to determine if its the transmission or something like the brakes dragging or basket drive assembly. i noticed the cam has no play outside the washer but while turning the basket drive assembly counterclockwise to get it back up into the washer it is difficult maybe its supposed to be? Also once in the washer there is alot of play in cam. One other thing I noticed was once the transmission was in the coupler would spin clockwise a little bit but not enough to turn the tub then I would hear a click and it wouldnt turn anymore and it never turned far enough for the tub to spin. Is that click something locking up with the brakes or in the transmission? i disassembled the brakes took of the spring to make sure they move freely. There was no play in the brakes so they seem okay to someone who doesnt know what they are supposed to feel like. Also we replaced the transmission fluid with 90 wt. Ugh someone please help we have been watching videos and searching the internet for a week. We replaced the capacitor before figuring out it was bound up somehow. thanks in advance for any help you can give.

    I've been trying to find the belt on my washing machine. Yours looks the same. Can you tell me where the belt is located?

    • @shaneb0422
      @shaneb0422 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is no belt, its direct drive from the motor. The motor spins a worm gear inside that cast iron transmission. If it won't spin, the most common causes are the clutch or coupler, assuming the motor still turns but the drum doesn't spin.

    Could this be the problem if I can hold the agitator while the washer agitates? Cannot hold the agitator in Spin.
    Could it be the agitator cam at the bottom of the drive shaft?
