I had a flight crew arrive from Germany once, and the captain called engineering..... when I got to them, he just stabbed his finger at the nav panel, told me it wasn't working, and demanded I fixed it straight away. The panel looked like it had been wiped clean. I removed the nav panel from the console and poured the coffee out of it, then informed the pilots to be VERY careful about what they said next. Either they could speak with me nicely, or they could continue to be abusive and demanding, because how they treated ME as an engineer depended on how I wrote up the defect in the tech log. If they apologised and told me they dropped coffee into the panel it would be 'moisture ingress evident'... if they continued to be assholes it would be 'spilled coffee drained from nav panel'... and the fallout from then would be theirs to deal with... their call. The captain was VERY polite from that moment on.
You know, being a pilot used to be a prestigious job but now, they are paid less, it's not really that glamorous anymore and they can rely on the technological advances. From the engineers who design the aircraft to the electrical and technical engineers that maintain and keep them in the air; THAT is where the prestige needs to be directed. My dad was the lead design engineer for many years (until he passed in 2016) in the automotive industry. That pilot should be thanking you that he can fly.

Growing up in the 80s, I got massively made fun of for freckles. So seeing people give themselves freckles on purpose is blowing my mind right about now.
Some people even get them tattooed! Goes to show how making fun of someone for their looks, whatever it is, is absolutely ridiculous!
Same. I was 10 in 1980 and had freckles until I turned around 16 or 17 and they faded and I wore makeup. I was teased relentlessly over freckles.
Same here! I think we’ve hit a time where people are embracing their attributes that used to be “undesireable”. Black women are feeing empowered with their natural hair and dark complexion. Asian women are embracing their monolids. Those with freckles are starting to love them. I think it’s beautiful.

I grew up absolutely in LOVE with freckles and married a freckly red head. My boys all have freckles which I ADORE, I was so worried that people would make fun of them like I heard people do to others in middle school. A lovely grandma took his class on a tour and told him that he had lovely freckles and that freckles were kisses from God when he was 6. He's been proud of them every since❤️ I also love amputations, scars, red hair, big ears, really anything that makes you different. So no matter how you look, there's someone who loves it.
As someone who has freckles I personally don't appreciate people pretending to have them. I love my freckles and I want to be loved as myself. I feel like these people are pretending to be something they're not some people take make-up to far and I would honestly call it catfish if their partner or date doesn't know.
@@empath9814 its honestly not that serious. No ones pretending to be something they arent, freckles dont define your existence. Make up is all about experimenting with different looks and is an expression of art. If it adds to the aesthetic someone is going for then so what? It doesnt make them a freckled person, they arent trying to be, its just part of a look out of appreciation for freckles. I have a few freckles, not many and are spaced out a bit so even i'd add some if it was something i wanted to define as part of a look.
You being offended at this doesn't mean these people are wrong for adding freckles to their face if they want to.

The funny thing about the double chin contour thing is that is actually a drag queen technique that a lot of bigger Queens use. A lot of the techniques that you see online are actually stage makeup techniques.

I actually do it regularly and it really works, but I use powder bronzer and I do it much lighter application than that. But yes let's all thank drag queens because a lot of today's make up trends come from those queens.
I photographed a wedding a few weeks back, the MOG used the root touch up the day before the wedding and didn’t mention it to the make up artist the day of the wedding. As the MUA was working on the MOG, her forehead was getting darker and darker, the MUA couldn’t figure out why until the MOG mentioned it. The MOG looked like she had face planted into the dirt, I had to walk away to keep from laughing.

@@frickfrack7075 the MUA put makeup on her forehead near the hairline and was smoothing out the makeup. Not sure if the smoothing out process was picking up remnants of the root touch up or not, but her forehead looked dirty and kept getting darker the more the MUA dabbed.

I was teased for having thick eyebrows, a big butt and lips growing up...😭it sucks i was just born 10 years too late.
Glasses become popular in the mid 2010's. People called me weird for using them ( I have astigmatism, that’s not really a decision ) but they were completely normal for buying glasses and they didn't need them! 🤣.
I remember once I had a classmate with freckles and children made fun of her for this...people are weird !

I will never complain about being late or her taking so long ever again! What you ladies go through in the name of beauty is mind boggling! All I do is brush my teeth, trim my beard, and brush/style my hair. Takes me all of 10 minutes (if I’m singing and dancing otherwise 7.25 minutes) and I think I look good. A quick spray of cologne and I’m done.
You're very modern, with my husband it was the ol' Sh*t, Shower, n Shave.

What about the women that prefer not to. I personally prefer natural beauty at least on myself it only takes me 10 minutes to get ready. I can't tell you how much crap I get for the way I dress and the fact that I chose not wear makeup.
@@empath9814 my everyday makeup is also 10 min: powder, contour, brows, lashes 😅 can go throughout if I'm lazy. But I am lucky to live in a country where nobody gives a sh*t 🤷🏻♀️
I can roll out of bed and be out the door in 5 mins. I might finger comb my hair in the car or just leave the braid in from the previous night. On a day where i'm late, i'll be out even quicker and will use my toothbrush i leave at work (from when i had invisalign and had to brush after eating *anything*) and sometimes you gotta do your business at the business.
Do i look like shite? Yeah, probably. But sweatpants and my father's old dress shirts will never make me look high fashion. And i'm IT, which means no one sees me except for other IT who are often in hoodies and jeans.
Yes, i don't understand taking long showers, as i take mine in 10-15 mins at the long end. Not shaving has been a massive time saver.

Being trained in waxing in the last one… we were taught in Australia with hard wax (the type she was using) you do in smaller sections to accommodate the different ways hair grows under your arms. Usually you won’t have to go over it a few times to get all the hair. ❤

Oh my gosh! Decades ago (when you had to try to learn how to do makeup from magazines) my mom explained to me that many of the things I was trying were really for on camera not real life. Thank you for sharing this for all the young girls who think they're failures because their makeup doesn't look like the ads or videos!

There's a makeup artist/influencer from my country whose been using the l'oreal magic retouch for freckles for a very long time. Her tips are :
- There's a certain way to push the spray so it does a freckle effect and not a full brown spray. You should practice on your arm diff pushing strength to get it right
- you can use 2 diff spray colors to give the effect more dimension and natural
- it goes away with your usual cleansing method when you want to take it off
- you can adjust the intensity of the freckles by putting some powder on them ! You can also erase them that way
This is a nice tool for anyone wanting to enhance existing freckles (during winter when they fade a bit for example) or for people who don't have any and want a natural feel to them

I hear ya...couple of weeks ago my mum said "you should always make sure you have your make up on Em, as you're really quite pretty" first and only time she's ever said I'm pretty, I turn 48 in December.

I think moms love our natural beauty because then we look the most like them! Everyone always told me I look like my mom, but then I went brunette and do a darker make up look. She doesn't like it lol! I sent her a selfie because i was looking fierce when my husband and I were going out for the evening with some friends we were visiting on our vacation and my mom told me I was giving off Bellatrix Lestrange vibes - I know it was supposed to be a jab but I took it as a compliment lol!
The root spray for freckles works perfectly well IF you use it right 😛 You have to apply verrrry little pressure when you spray, to get the splatter effect !

Girl who forgot to take a picture REALLY had that dying inside look. And that freckle spray is really a lesson in test it on your arm first before spraying it on your face after spending all that time getting your makeup perfect, if only to get a sense of the spray first.
I should be more thankful that I choose not to bother with makeup. I might be mistaken for a middle schooler, but at least I don't have to deal with this all the time. 💀

One one side I hate it, because life just isn't 'fair'. It just doesn't treat everyone equally. But as horrible as it was for us at the time when we were bullied... It really makes me happy to see / hear that we're now living in a society that slowly but surely puts what we're many peoples insecurities to become a look to achieve, a look they are going to pay for, a more body-positive society or even a goal to 'achieve'... As a kid I was always compared to another girl that I ended up living with for about seven years... I wasn't what is called to be 'fat' from a neutral point of view perspective, but as a child in comparison I was always was 'the bigger child'... As I said: I didn't understood it at that time... I never felt wanted. Not by my parents, not by others, not by my so-called friend. I took her into my my home because NOBODY wanted her or even be near their kids... It was never a question to me. I never thought about not wanting her to be around just because of her ethnicity... Sadly she preferred to play with others (not the problem), just talking bad about 'the fat one' (me) but always coming back to me for support when anyone told her off... This was going on for more than seven years. I dropped from about 70kg more than 50kg in about less than 30kg in about three months... This is more than just unhealthy and obviously I am anoracric for more than 13 years. To Everyone: Never let yourself or anyone else let you get this far...!
God, that last one is so relatable!
I bought a waxing kit through work (I work in hair and beauty) to save on going to the beauticians and while I've been fine using it on other parts of my body, armpits were easily THE worst. The only time I tried it, the wax was stuck so tight that I had to take it off slowly which only got worse with each second which turned out to be all for nothing as not a lot of hair came out. Immediately after that I told myself to not touch that area with wax again!

I feel you, years ago I had a laboratory in the afternoon and was super tired, so I got a cappuccino from the vending machine before returning to my class and sitting in front of my own pc...thank God it was super well made because 5 seconds later, I sneezed and spilled the whole cup, albeit small, right on the computer (which was 4 months old): I never acted so quickly in my life, I immediately flipped it over and let the coffee and milk drain from it and spent the entire class cleaning the pc and my desk 😅😭😂😂😂

You can use the root cover up for freckles, just spray on a piece of glass or a mirror, use a makeup brush, dip the ends of the brush,a big fluffy one, into the root touch up on the mirror/glass , the very lightly tap the ends of the brush on your face where you want the freckles. But you want to tap your face with the end of the makeup brush like VERY LIGHTLY, you can always add more, it harder to take it off than to add it.

I feel conflicted. On one hand it frustrates me to see those that used to make fun of it use it today like they weren’t rude about it years before. On the other hand I think it’s great that a lot our physical attributes that were once “ugly” like natural Afro hair, monolids, and freckles are now appreciated. Those of us who lived through torment about it have every reason to have negative feelings about it, but at least it may pave the way for the next generation to appreciate and feel empowered by their attributes.

@@Mama_Bear524 aw thank you, wish I'd been told that as a kid. I was made fun of so bad for it that I tried to "erase" them with literal erasers lol and with makeup. As an adult I've been told they're very beautiful, but that scar will never really go away in my heart unfortunately

This feels illegally early
Everyday, I see is 11am (my time) I'm checking TH-cam. This channel is usually the first video that pops up, if it's posted. Shes pretty on point about the time she posts her videos

Oof, that last one. Having First Nations ancestry on my mother's side, I have very VERY light body hair and almost none under my arms. I've always been grateful for this but, after watching that last one, I'm getting all up in my ancestor praise. Also, not me over here with severe tress envy, because our Potato Queen's hair is getting more fabulous by the day. Happy Friday Eve, everyone!
My mom HATES when my sister and I wear make-up, we're in our 30s now and are STILL given what for when we wear it 🤣. To quote my mom "I don't make ugly babies, you don't need that s***!"

The worst thing I have EVER spilled was a crafting material called Gold Leaf Size. It's a thin liquid that sets into a really sticky surface to apply gold leaf to in order to do gilding.
It never dries fully. It just gets sticky.
I knocked the open pot over on my craft table and it spilled EVERYWHERE. It was SUCH a pain to clean and i was still finding sticky spots months later.
A truly beautiful woman doesn't need makeup.

I’m 43 years old, been with my husband 13 years, married for 1. I am a very normal looking human woman, probably a 5/10. That said, he told me about four years ago that he loved my beautiful face (when I didn’t have make up on one day)
I’ve never worn makeup since. I also don’t shave my underarms.
I love watching these videos because I can relate so hard and also because I wish bodily freedom for all women, whatever that may look like for each of us.
