$45 Dollar 2WD Slash Brushless ESC/Motor Upgrade

- Our 2WD Traxxas Slash is back up and running. We had ESC issues a long time ago, and I didnt feel like buying another Castle Creations ESC/Motor for 150, so amazon I went for replacements.
I was able to find a the kit in the video and below for about 45 dollars, and man does this thing rock!

I just got this combo and didn't realize that the shaft is 5mm so i sent for the pinion gears. Waiting for them now. I haven't ran it but the items appear to be well made. Motor is nice and heavy and feels like good quality. Only time will tell.
the cheap motors are usually good, but the escs are either great or go up in smoke

Thinking about getting this on Amazon would you suggest it?? Also debating if it will fit a traxxas stampede 2wd? Would it fit
@@antonioaguila1807 For sure I would suggest it. I have never had an issue with a Surpass esc. The Stampede looks like it has a big area to mount an esc. I would probably go with an 80amp esc if you can. 60amp will do but the higher the amps the better. 80amp Esc amzn.to/3nUmFwP

Got this combo for my Wltoys 124029, worked great until the car was ran over but until that happened everything was flawless, ESC got crushed but motor escaped unharmed
I have the 80 Amp Surrpass in my Tekno on 3s. They're pretty good for the money 👍
Bought it and really like it 6 uses so far no issues. 51.99 on Amazon now.

Biggest problem with these are the rubber coating on the wires you definitely want to get heat shrink or wrap it with tape
Can you do this with stock radio and receiver or need to upgrade?
What program card worx with thr platinum series? Cant find out. Ive ordered the 3660 60amp.
if this lasts at all long, this would be awsome, I know people willing to spend more on bearings let alone a motor/ esc combo.
What gears are you running with it?
What did you use to attach it to the slash
i bought an ESC motor combo from this brand. after one run, the ESC went up in smoke. and the battery was a 2s, the esc was rated for 4s
I ran my combo on 3s no problem.

You can find a castle sct combo for 90 dollars that motor is going to overheat

@@cds1223 well it's been over a year now they went up in price you can still find them for around 130 just look up on Google shopping the castle creations sct will last years of abuse the motor this guy uses I would not use on a slash I have used it on a rustler or street car but not on a heavy slash the motor will overheat especially if you only have 1rc and 4 batteries and don't let the motor cool down

My 60amp caught fire with the 3660 3800kv combo on first battery ran in it
I'm gonna buy the 120amp one 5200kv motor combo. It should arrive at my house soon.

@@drewdawson5063 Went up in smoke after some runs. Don't know how many, maybe like 15 or so.
You're better off getting a ezrun max 10 combo, or the sct version.
I've bought 4 of these and 3 of them went up in smoke within the first hour.
What went out the motor or esc

what S lipo did you run it on? the ESC is 45A, the motor is 66A, running it full throttle on 3S for a long time will kill it, it even says it in the damn manual!
also depends on what kit you bought, one has the 45A ESC, and the other one has the proper 60A ESC.

I'm not gonna pay the price for a regular Slash its just not worth it, I'm planning to put my Maverick Strada TC motor and ESC in a Slash Roller, so I can get a Slash cheap, bruh
