- Today we are taking a look at the Traxxas Slash 2WD Low-CG Kit!
This could be the Best RC upgrade I have ever made to any RC CAR!
It's the Traxxas Slash 2WD Low centre of gravity kit and the difference this makes is incredible.
Out of the box the slash is unstable and does like to topple over when turning.
This kit eliminates that problem and has turned the slightly clumsy slash 2wd into a On Road/Off Road RC weapon!

What an awesome upgrade! But should it have been like this RTR? I kind of think it should.. Traxxas Must know that the stock 2wd slash when it comes to handling is terrible.. Do you agree? See you on the next one!
No. Because, part of the fun of the hobby is working on these things. And it's only 35$(at least at my hobby shop in the USA) for the conversion which is cheap and well worth it. I love working on them.
Mine was a beast 😂 it ran a max motor and 1/8 esc on 3s she was nuts
I love the high cg chassis. It looks much more realistic when driving. When I would want a good performer, I would stay clear of the slash altogether and go for a Team Associated RC10SC6.4 or something similar.
I just thinking exactly the same. I love the og chasis. Makes the truck more scale on handling. For a better performance, better of with associated.
But with the upgraded chassis doesn’t it bottom out a lot more over jumps and going in tall brush/dirt? Shouldn’t it be lifted up since it’s an off-road truck?
Agreed!! Of course the LCD handles better on the flat BUT how in the heck can you NOT even acknowledge that the stock with MORE clearance has the advantage in rougher terrain and that is reason enough for the RTR to come that way!!! You had those piles of gnarly dirt all around- how could you not test it on that?!
Quite the opposite... the lowest parts of the HCG chassis is the same as the whole lcg. But not having that hole/catch in the back to grab grass, dirt, sticks, etc helps a ton. Even in tall grass the flat bottom tends to slide right over stuff especially rocks.
I just did mine. So much better.
If you wanna easily bump power Stock motor on 3s is pretty good to bump it up of you have an extra ESC that's capable. Eventually I'll do brushless but for now that stock 12t is feeling some extra juice.
Upgrade your 272 to the 272R magnum. Handling is way better with an actual differential over the planetary diff.
I noticed that on the ftx Zorro, mate it was really bad, so bad 4 run's and moved it on ! Hated it, that looks much better thanks for your upload 👍🙏🐱
Hey @beyondRC I really enjoyed your video. I am new to RC and bought a slash 2wd from my local hobby store. If I wanted the stock clearance, do you have any alternative tips for upgrades to maintain control? Thanks :)
Traxxas already has this option for the 4WD slash and Rally (A Slash with a Ford Focus body shell) RTR cars (obviously), surprised that they haven't made this an offering for the 2WD.
is there a way to get one of the front wheel's lifting as cornering like the real shot course trucks .

Stock one has more clearance but all it ever does is topple over.. terrible. Not a fan. This handles way better and I prefer it. You are entitled to your opinion as am I.. don’t have to be in agreement 😁 have a good day 👍😎

Arrma is pretty much garbage. Very few upgrades, the spektrum stuff isn't the best...horizon hobby is known for ruining brands. The Arrma Granite Grom is a great little truck, I'll give them that. But other than that I've ran a lot of their models and it's not impressive. Traxxas however has the biggest OEM and aftermarket support out there and their huge variety of models is excellent. I've had zero issues with any of my Traxxas trucks
