I just want to say thank you so much for sharing this awesome video about the mission all the artwork I love it all love all the Christmas lights to now you can go home and sleep well❤❤❤❤❤
Wow great lil adventure to Riverside Ca. Im taking my family there to ice skate and to visit the Mission Inn. Going to have to eat at Tio's tacos to start our lil adventure. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
That place is stunning. We used to do paranormal investigations. But are now more into adventures in New places. Would live to stay there. It's beautiful. Very cool. Very fun adventure with you and Ally!❤
Justin I live like a mile from this place (Titos) and never stopped in. Thanks for making the truck out here to show it. I will visit it soon. Mission Inn draws in the crowds for sure.
My hometown!! As a native Riversider we spent a lot of time exploring around the old Mission Inn. It was a sort of derilict building for so many years, it even had studio apartments on the lower floor. We took the tour so many times (which you should absolutely do!) & back then they included the catacombs on the tour, where I always imagined vampires living down there! When someone bought the MI it was miraculous to see the beauty enhanced & being able to actually stay in the inn where we had previously snuck around in. We've stayed there a few times & took advantage of the massages from the spa. I implore you to book a stay there! There's so much to explore, lots of nooks & crannies, history, art. And of course at Christmas it is spectacular! 🎄💜🥰
I grew up in Redlands,Ca. But left in 89, b4 this place opened. I vist family once a year, never knew this place existed..my next visit definitely coming here!!
I only live like 10 minutes away, so I went this Tuesday (yesterday) to enjoy the lights, get some ramen, and go antiquing (which I already do frequently but I wanted to enjoy the Christmas vibes) and it was so packed for a Tuesday that I could hardly enjoy myself. It's so much more crowded on a weekday this holiday season than it was last year and other years prior. It makes it hard to have fun.
My mom is from Michoacan. There is a Monarch Butterfly sanctuary in Michoacan. The old men with the ribbons and canes is a dance from Michoacan called "Los Viejitos". One of the signs on the wall said "Free breakfast to anyone 60 years of age, who is accompanied by their grandparents."
Welcome to Riverside!! 🍊🔔 If you haven't been to Cambria's Christmas market yet, you MUST!!! Stay at the lodge (book early), enjoy the insane light display, and even pair it with the Christmas Twilight tour at Hearst Castle! Pro tip: do not skip the incredible gift shop at the cambria nursery. it's honestly an attraction in and of itself!!
I'm glad you pointed out Taft's chair! Here are a few more fun facts: Richard Nixon was MARRIED in the Mission Inn (in the bar near all the presidential pictures, it's now called the Presidential Lounge but was a large room used for weddings etc. back then); The large/deep circular staircase is called the Rotunda; Teddy Roosevelt planted one of the two original (parent) Riverside Navel orange trees at the Mission Inn (it's long been dead, but the other is still living at the corner of Magnolia and Arlington); The ice skating rink is next to THE CHEECH, which is Cheech Marin's (of Cheech & Chong) Chicano art museum. Worth a visit, as well! Oh, and the "big bell" @ Tio's Tacos was part of a "Raincross". They're found all throughout Riverside, and is even included in the city's flag. "Raincross Square" downtown hosted many a Punk and New Wave concert back in the day! The deets: "Christened the 'Raincross' symbol, it was designed for the Mission Inn. The symbol is derived from combining a replica of the mass bell used by Father Junipero Serra, missionary priest and founder of the California Missions, and the cross to which the Navajo and Central American Indians prayed for rain."
Tio’s Tacos looks so cool I’ll have to visit! 🌮 you also have to checkout Trader Vic’s up in Emeryville in the Bay Area their Christmas decor is the perfect blend of holiday and tiki! 🎄🌺
Nice to see you go back to the IE! The festival has grown from year’s past. Upbeat vibes by visitors there compared to Disneyland guests is because no one there in Riverside paid over $500 to be there! lol
You can have a RANDOMLAND BACKYARD with all your Tiki Creations and collectibles….”Ally Creations” can be added to the collection,,,,,…Yes, you could do it! ❤️
Iwe moved from orange county to norco when i was 1, and then from age 12 on lived in Perris. 35 years in Perris actually. (until 2016) I even brought my 2 sons home from the hos[ital to the same house.
There is nothing in that building behind the Inn. It was a building where staff lived in the early 20th century, and the lower level may have been used as a stable or garage. I lived at the Inn when the city owned it, in the early 80’s. Although it had not been renovated, it’s always been an amazing place with tons of history.
I believe the Boy in the Chapel is Blessed Carlos Acutis. He has been sanctified as Blessed, next year, the Year of the Jubilee in Rome he will made a Saint. He is a Modern day Saint. He was British Born but lived in Italy, he was a teenager that listed all the Eucharist Miracles by computer. Died in 2006. He was 15 yrs old
I love Aly's fashion sense it is always stylish.

I lived in Riverside for YEARS. I moved out of state at the end of 2021. Man I miss Tio’s Tacos

If you like the art at Tio’s Tacos you’d love The City Museum in St. Louis Missouri.
@40:02 curved beams, LOL!

You were just a few miles from my house. 👍
The Mission Galleria (the antique store) was once a Sears back in the 50's.
I’ve been there before and looks like it’s just grown even more in 5 years! I wonder if the shells and cans and bottles are from the restaurant?
Dude! You're in my town! Would have liked to meet you.
🍿
Where is the singing dog
You should try 123 farms for Christmas and the lavender festival.

Hey I know you like Paul Rubins. Just so you know the Sundance Film Fest will have a Documentary about his life
where are all comments for such a cool vlog?
I know enough Spanish to get food, get drunk and get into a fight.
Please don’t tell me the singing dog with the trumpet player has passed :( does anybody know??
Come for the food, stay for the junk..sadly I feel that place is greatly underappreciated.
Tacos good?
Is he still alive
Welcome to Riverside Justin glad to have you at our home -Socal_cptsparrow
