Hi, Can you check FILE - DISTORT - TRANSFORM in Copernicum? It’s simple and allows control over the scale of PNG, JPG, or RAT textures, but I don’t know how to export it. My geometries in XPU accept the images this way in ‘quick surface material’, but in EXR or MPlay they export blank without the textures.
Redshift will have to be updated to work with the new update. I recommend using Karma for the moment as it's fully integrated with all the new features and works very well.
NPM is compiling the OpenCL kernels when you first hit the play button, more knowledgeable people will explain why it does that, and if it does it one time or every time, but once that step is done, the simulation runs pretty fast I am sure someone with the 4090 will see it in real time or faster than that, pretty insane technology
I have a 3090 so a 4090 shouldn't be that much faster in sim speed but it's definitely not compiling every time but it does frequently and it is pretty fast in terms of sim speed
Great video, appreciate the info. I have a problem where the preview node is a little wonky, and height doesn’t show in the viewport at all. I’m on a MacBook Pro m1, latest OS. I out in a ticket with sidefx, but if anyone has an idea I’d appreciate some help getting this resolved
Assuming you have reset the viewport. You can also try just rendering in Karma as you build. Might not be quite as fast but would probably work. SideFX support is great so they will probably give a solution or fix it soon if it's a bug
@@InsideTheMindSpace Yep that's what I'm currently doing. Not the smoothest workflow, but it works for now. Hopefully SideFX will come up with some sort of a solution shortly :)
Oh its already so good!
Thank you so much for this! Feel like I'm hitting the ground running. So much to play with!
Proxy is doing what you think, downresing the texture it just isn't forcing a viewport update. If you tweak a parameter you will see it update.
Good to know. Thank you!
Thank you
Thanks a million!
cool. Thanks for the video! Would love to see more fluid effects with the mpm solver!
Rasterise is for geo attributes. You should use sdf to mono to change to grey scale.

Thank you for this video! Do you know any information on getting Redshift to work in Houdini 20.5.278? It works for me in 20.0.688

your crash may have been because you weren't on Frame 1? Thanks for the overview 👍👌

New Vulkan viewport and still need to Reset Viewport this is a bummer.
Ugh NVIDIA monopoly again. AMD support please 🥺 my laptop can use it my PC can't lol
