God Bless You Mr Ramsey I'm Grateful and Thankful to the Lord I Found You Years Ago
Tbh I’m just happy that this show acknowledges the comments.
Same! They’ve done several bits like this recently and it’s a great way to engage with the community
It’s amazing tbh. A lot of people ignore their audience which makes 0 sense because we’re the ones watching 😅
it should be a dave rips out someones heart and makes them cry. your broke, you should sell them, she should be eating beans and rice, because your broke. maybe even selling 1 kidney because your that broke.
Having grown up with virtually no relationship with my father, I get a kick out of Rachel and Dave doing the show together. I find it heartwarming ...
It’s literally my favorite pairing.
Yep I agree with Dave on this. Had the daughter called, it would’ve changed the story. But selling the tickets is the right way to go. Eliminating half that debt is will make her life easier in the future.
Are you a parent? with kids this age…. Tough call. I have sons in their 20s. I would suggest it, but I’m letting the kids decide and I’ll hold it over their heads until the loan is paid. Lol😂
@@theshow1269 I have kids yes. And yes I’d do the same thing.
Originally, I would’ve simply bought the tickets and kept them for myself until a week before the concert. Then I’d decide who would go with me or if I’m going to sell the tickets. I’d gift someone an invite to a concert, but never concert tickets themselves
And in this scenario, I would’ve sold the tickets. If a concert is deemed so much of a once in a lifetime event that you treat it as more important than paying down or paying off debt, maybe you need to reconsider your priorities. And that goes for everyone. There is no concert in the world worth $200+ per ticket, let alone $4,000+
And in my personal opinion, Taylor Swift is not good enough to charge those prices. Others will disagree, and that’s how supply and demand works. More power to them
I probably would go, especially if I paid retail for something so hot that it's incredibly hard to get them at a normal value. But it also depends on your income and other factors too. If I made 40k with 20k in student loans, yes I'd sell the tickets. 80k income, probably not
@nicholasselke5214
why not HACK THE SCHEME.
next concert buy tickets then sell them once the prices spike.
is $600 a lot of money? thats literally an xbox play station or a phone if you're the pay in full type.
its not a small chunk of change but its definitely not super big. its literally a leisure or maintainence bill.
so yeah buy low, hold then sell high. i just hope uncle sam doesn't wanna tax the hack.
dave reacts should be its own segment 😅
Yep, WWDD - What Would Dave Do?
I agree. I love these videos of what he would have said.
I miss his Stupid Tax rants, too. ❤
THIS!!!
I'd watch that LOL
A gift is only a gift with no strings attached.
I love that they are paying attention to some of the comments ❤
"The memories are forever"
"No, they're not" 😂😂😂
Its a concert. I've seen Black Sabbath, original Pantera, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Aerosmith, all my "bucket list" bands. You better believe I'd sell the tickets and use the profits to buy tickets next time. It's not a farewell tour
well its not wrong. just ask someone who has a parent with alzhiemers.
@@kahrhoshe I already did. They told me to ask someone with Alzheimer's.
I dont remember most of the concerts I went to!
"Thats for other reasons..."

I love these ‘Dave Responds’ clips. There’s no replacement for Dave.
New favorite series- Dave responding to the other personalities’ advice 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Im not gonna dogpile on taylor swift and say her music is bad or anything.
Idk if it is, my taste in music is garbage i have no right to judge.
But 12,000usd to go to this concert seems like such a blunder when you are in so much debt
That's just an estimation though, there is no guarantee she would actually get that much for the tickets.
i wouldn't just blindly call it debt...
theres MILESTONES OF LIFE.
and being 22 is literally the milestone called graduation, so yeah another milestone debt is a mortgage, another milestone debt is a car.
some debts need not be incurred but they kinda serve a greater purpose in life.
1) education helps set you up for better paying jobs
2) a home is shelter
3) a car is transportation
the key thing is to NOT blinding rack up higher values on these debts.
save up for a car, get scholarships for education,
so in the grand scheme of life...
live a little but dont run yourself into debt.
like being debt free is "peaceful" but enjoying certain things of life is blissful.
college debt is kinda part of the package called life, as is acquiring mortgage debt.
$600 was wasted, i mean buy T swift tickets again next year and SELL those as a hack. (buy low and sell high) am i right?
@@crystalsnow1138 I mean swifties are pretty insane and this was Taylor's first tour since like 2018 so I can see people spending that kind of money to see her.
The daughter isn't spending anything. The mom spent $600. They are estimating they could get $10K if they could resell all 3. So the daughter isn't spending anything, unless there are travel expenses, food, drinks, etc associated with the actual concert.
Never should you let someone or something be an idol. Sell the tickets. Get ahead in life and watch the concert on the TV.
Did anybody say anything about her being an idol? If you think the experience of watching it on TV is the same as being in a stadium with 80,000 people are the same that's strange. Another example would be, why eat at the Michelin Star restaurant when you can just got to Red Lobster.
@@brianparrett114 I said that not them. Loosing the opportunity of paying a large portion of debt for a few hours of fun to see a person is why they are making that person an idol. And I would eat at home if I had debt. If someone gave me a gift card to that fancy restaurant and I could sell it for many times more I would do that. They will be much happier when they are older and can do all the things they want to because they have no debt. A little sacrifice when you are young goes a long way
Watching it on tv is A impossible and B not the same
The absolute best combo at Ramsey, bar none, is Dave and Rachel. They should be on together every day.
When Dave said “she could cut that [student loan debt] in half” not only did I immediately know what his response was going to be, but so did Rachel 😂
Dave didn't even mention the capital gains tax you'd have to pay on the sell of those tickets.
100% - A gift is a gift. She takes it away to put on the loans, that's asking for some serious relationship issues.
I'm loving Dave reacts as a segment! I definitely think that the other Personalities give opposing opinions to what Dave would give sometimes.
Dave needs to whoop these personalities into shape!
Thanks for bringing the wisdom, Dave!
Another fallacy in this discussion is the idea that this is a once in a lifetime event. I have a feeling that Taylor Swift will be on tour many, many more times in the future.
Tomorrow is never a guarantee. But in some ways yes it is a once in a lifetime concert. Taylor literally performs for almost 4 hours covering songs from every album she's ever done, it's not just a regular Taylor Swift concert. The odds of her doing another concert like this is kind of low.
Getting Taylor Swift tickets at retail are a once in a lifetime event. Take advantage and enjoy yourself.
Not for $200 tickets tho
Get what you are saying but the daughter graduated college and isn't a 12 year old so if she was dreaming of this chance...Is a once in a lifetime experience that may never present itself again. Don't know what tomorrow holds, life circumstances change, responsibilities creep up, Taylor could get sick and cancel tour stop, management could change their direction or whatever and cut your stops, etc. I am not an experience or travel person at all (most of the time I think it is a waste of money) and I never chose to listen to a TS song, but I can even see the value of being young only once.
I actually don’t think there will be a tour like this.
A reaction video we actually needed. Thank you, Ramsey Show, for giving the people what they wanted!
Please continue doing these segments. They are great!
Dave broke it down how they should have originally. If they can really get $10k for those tickets, the daughter is effectively taking out a $10k loan to go to a Taylor Swift concert: "If you didn't have Taylor Swift tickets, but had $10k cash, would you spend that money on the tickets or paying off your student loan?"
Kind of the same way when people always ask: "should I pay off my house or invest?" "If your house was paid off, would you take out a mortgage on it to invest?".
The fact that the tickets are in her possession and only cost $600 changes the mindset quite a bit.
No she is not. It is not the same thing.
I agree with your point. However, I can see how others would consider a $10k windfall differently than $10k that they already had. As in, they wouldn’t blow $10k they had to earn but would blow $10k that just fell into their lap.
"If your house wasn't paid off, would you liquidate your investment portfolio to pay off your house?"
Plus this has to due with parent kid relationship at that age….. I have sons in their 20s. I may plant the seed to sell, but ultimately I would let them decide…. Resentment could set it in. If we go to the concert, I’ll hold that over their heads to get that loan paid off….😊
What I've always admired about Dave is that he preaches the value of balancing your saving money and giving money. If you're all about savings and not sharing, you will never be truly happy.
I love what Taylor has built to. She teaches us all a valuable lesson, with the right vocal coach and rich parents, you can be anything you want in life.
And what are you doing today that ads to your success?
Jealous much? She is a once in a generation talent. Incredibly smart, talented and a great business woman. Also kind and supportive of other singers.
@@lunallena5594adds not ads
Envy is a gross characteristic
She released her eras tour on tv me and wife watched a few hours then she got online and bought five finger death punch tickets lol
Great idea looking back at previous advice/videos, this is cool.
Why are people acting like there will never be another concert
Did people expect covid to happen where concerts literally didn't happen for a couple years? Are any of us guaranteed a tomorrow or good health. This isn't just a regular Taylor Swift concert it's literally an Eras concert which she more than likely never do again.
This may well be "peak Taylor". Height if her powers etc etc
Why do people act like life experiences have no value? The daughter will never be 22 seeing her idol again. At 20 I worked in factory and acquired front row tickets to the Rolling Stones. My job wouldn't let me leave early the day of the concert so I quit. I remember that show like it was yesterday, but I can't remember the name of that company.
These people will use any excuse to justify going to Taylor Swift. Her fans are a cult.
Dave had the best take. In general he would say to sell them in a heartbeat but since it was a gift, that changes the argument.
@@FooFan-b3kthis is a financial show, not a life experiences show.
VERY similar situation happened for us. I purchased 2 Taylor Swift tickets for my daughter and myself for under $200 each. Where our situation was easier is that my daughter had a college event come up that she really felt she shouldn't miss on the same night as the concert. I told her it was entirely up to her, that the tickets were hers and so were any potential proceeds. She ended up selling both for about $3K and used part of that money to buy an iPad ($600) she had wanted for a couple of years. A year later she's gotten so much daily use out of the iPad and has no regrets whatsoever.
If Dave’s gonna give his advice for past calls, he may as well be there every day 😂
He's talking about retiring. I can't wait to hear him call in after some "bad advice" and give the team the third degree. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
If you heard the original call, Rachel kept saying “I wonder what Dave would say?”, so she just wanted to know!
They are capitalizing on the most viral videos that they have posted it’s not like every video they post is getting Dave reviewed
It is a hand off/ teaching aid. Also personality branding. He will go eventually and they have to be consistent.
He said the control issues are hard, when it's your company. He'll always have a toe in. I don't think he could find things to do all day or Sharon having him underfoot. ; )
It was a gift TO THE DAUGHTER, I am amazed she invited her mom personally. But, they belong to the daughter, she decides what to do with them!! Leave it alone mom.
We need to keep these segments....omg, I love these!
I’m still a George fan. It doesn’t matter if you’re 86 or 96, you get your a’’ out there and work lol
i spit my drink out lol
Problem is no one wants to hire you at those ages.
He gave her other options and she said no. Then he told her to get to work. 😂
😂
Respect your elders you whipper snapper!
Good to see Dave has gotten better about responding to his cohosts in the last 8 months 😂 I totally agree with everything he said. When my dad died he left me tons of collectibles worth quite a lot. At first I didn't want to sell them, but I would never put that kind of money into them myself. So I've turned selling them into a side hustle, something he used to do himself. Sharing the experience with him, and getting a big chunk of money for it, that's worth way more than binders full of expensive trading cards (which, I'm keeping most of them anyway, just nothing worth anything).
Dave coming in here with logic. It would be best to sell the tickets and get rid of half that debt, but it’s up to the daughter and she probably won’t sell. There will be other swift concerts. In fact, I wish I bought Taylor swift tickets a year or 2 ago now. Missed opportunity!
But the odds of Taylor doing another concert like this is low. This is literally an Eras concert that is almost 4 hours long where she covers songs from every album of hers. Some of the songs she plays during this concert most likely won't be performed ever again.
@@crystalsnow1138 I’m no fan of hers so I have no idea. All her songs sound the same and she dances like a kid who had too much sugar with no rhythm. Outside of that, I know nothing about the woman.
You say that but life happens. People die sooner than expected and then they’d always regret not going as a family. I say go the concert - coming from someone who can’t stand TS.
@@booya6437 you’re barely acknowledging your family at a concert. How do you even bond? You’re most likely staring at a stage with your phone in your hand taking videos. I wouldn’t call that family time.
It's not logic. It's a strawman.
Thank you, Ramsey Team for reading the comments and recap on this. ❤
I saw Taylor in 2016 for her 1989 tour. She's PHENOMENAL in concert but with that said, I would sell those so damn fast and watch the special on Disney and TH-cam videos. You can't see all that great at concerts unless you are right up front anyway. Selllllllll

Automating my finances to invest in mutual funds has been one of the biggest keys in helping me not only stay out of debt but invest money without even thinking about it. This video is super valuable... great work Dave! I have been able to grow my portfolio from a measly fee of $20k to $100k in 12 months.
Can you explain how you achieved these feet in 12 months? I wish I had started investing in the stock market earlier in life.
Although financial advice is arbitrary and what works for one person may not work for another, planning is always preferable. I consider myself fortunate to have been introduced to personal finance at a young age. I started working at the age of 19, purchased my first house at the age of 28, was laid off at the age of 36 during the COVID-19 pandemic, and immediately sought advice from an advisor to manage the expansion of my finances. After further investments, as of right now, I'm only 25% short of my $1 million target.
This intrigues me. I've looked up financial advisors online, but finding one to connect with is a bit difficult. Do you mind if I ask for your recommendation?
Well, I chose Kristin Amber Landis as my advisor after her interview on CNBC In 2020. She is SEC regulated with offices in the US and quite frankly a genius with portfolio diversification. You should look her up
Wow, her track record looks really good from what I found online. I'll take a chance and see how it goes. Thanks for the info
I'm glad that they addressed this. The comment section was nuts. I hope they make this a common thing. Maybe once a week find the one or two calls that had the most comments / arguments and have Dave address them. Even better he should have the two personalities that took the call in the studio with him
A gift is a gift, It is her Daughter choice
You can make memories at home for free, but these tickets are already a defining moment. They already carry emotion because they were bought for a special mother daughter experience. There is a reason the resell is so high. I'm not a Swifty, but these ladies are. This is a special time they will always remember and if she sells them, they will always remember the time they almost went to a legendary concert and she still had 1/2 her debt to pay back. Both the mom and daughter will live with regret and the sister will live with resentment.
Hey daughter - sell those tickets woman!!😂
Please do more of these videos, there’s many videos I’d like to hear your take on.
Dave: Who’s Taylor Swift? 😂😂
OK, the way Dave put it totally makes sense. I was leaning towards selling the tickets until he put it that way. Now I completely understand and it’s up to the daughter.
Why is no one talking about the other sister. You’d be telling her to forfeit Taylor Swift tickets to pay off her sister’s student loan. Not fair!
I absolutely LOVE Dave's response.
This video encapsulates why a family is lucky to keep wealth for even three generations…
This sadly shows you can spend your whole life’s work teaching/leading horses to ‘water’ and, at best, they’ll just stop ‘drinking’ as soon as you turn your back.

Even though doing something seems very logical it isn't always the right thing to do...and a gift is a gift. Mom doesn't get to sell the tickets. She could mention (ONCE) to daughter her idea, but then shut up :-)
I agree. If anything the mom should sell her ticket if she wants to help with her daughter's debt. The daughter is old enough where she doesn't need her mom to go to the concert with her.
Having always been financially minded, I now regret not seeing concerts of artists I loved, now past or unable to perform. 😢
Scalping tickets is illegal.
Actually its not anymore. Morally and ethically its wrong.
@@evanhamilton7969it becomes morally and ethically wrong when a scalper buys like 100 tickets to sell at a jacked up price, never intending to use any of those tickets for themselves, depriving people a opportunity to get the tickets at market price.
This situation of changing your mind of going and selling the tickets afterwards is perfectly fine in my mind
It’s not scalping. Reselling tickets is completely legal
@tduck828 how is selling something that people don’t need at a price they’re willing to pay morally and ethically wrong? If you don’t like the price, then don’t buy. It’s that simple
In some places scalping is legal other places it’s not. In all places ethical questions arise. This point seems totally lost in this conversation.

Long live Dave and his wisdom !
The $200 per ticket is probably a once in a life time experience. And I liked Kens point that this mom wouldn’t put $10,000 on the loan. Mom just got a bit greedy with the GIFT she gave her daughter.
Greedy?? She is advising her daughter to use her windfall to pay off the daughter's loans. The mom isn't asking for a penny!

15 years is coincidentally when the daughter will finally have that sigh of relief after paying off her debt
Peace of mind is also a gift. When I can reduce my student loan as a result of an unexpected windfall, I would gladly sell the tickets.
My peace of mind is more important than a concert. There is permanent pleasure versus a temporary enjoyment.

Why see the Stones in 1970 when you could see them in 2020, am I right!?
Her last tour before this one was in 2018... so about 5 years between them... ticket prices will continue to go up over time. Also every tour is different, so the next one in 2029 will be a different show. It's kinda like saying, why see Phantom of the Opera when you can Cats, after all they are both by Andrew Lloyd Weber.
You never know
Loving the new WWDD segments!
Good point, it was a gift. All the mother can do is really suggest it, and it is up to the daughter. If it were me, I'd be selling them.
Also agreed, very disappointing that Ken is a closet Swifty.
I wouldn't pay that much $$ for a front row seat to the second coming of Jesus!
If you live like no one else, later you can give and live like no one else.
Dont say indian giver😅
In the words of Jerry Seinfeld "I'm sorry I'm not familiar with that term"
Love,love, love Dave Ramsey❤❤❤
Let's keep stacking!!! You can never go wrong with gold or crypto. From $28k to $36K that's the minimum range of profit return every week I think it's not a bad one for me, now I have enough to pay bills and take care of my loved ones.
I'm always skeptical when it comes to trading crypto and stocks
How do you earn that much weekly?
Big thanks to Renee Marie Harrison
