    Should have used the LIVE FILTER perspective version but otherwise excellent tutorial

    Great video again!
    Another wee tip for you: you CAN actually make the Perspective filter adjustable after your initial placement...
    Before selecting it from the Filters menu, toggle the 'Add Live filters' switch at the top of the menu. Luckily 'Perspective' is one of them. Select it and position it as you showed in your (excellent) video.
    Notice that there's no 'Apply' button. Just click off the layer and you can then make more adjustments to your image...
    When you want to revisit the live 'Perspective' layer, click into the image that has the 'Perspective' filter applied and you'll see the filter there like it's a mask. Just double-click on this layer (the actual live filter that looks like a white square with the wee filter icon at the bottom-right corner) and you get all your 'Perspective' filter controls back and you can re-adjust it!
    It can be a wee bit buggy at times depending on the complexity of the image, but it works pretty well most of the time!
    Thanks again for the great videos and keep up the good work!

      MIND BLOWN!!! 🤯
      I have to admit I didnt know about live filters in AP! Thank you so, so much for sharing this with me/us Captain!
      After playing around with live filters a bit there they prob deserve their own video, if I do one I'll be sure to give you another shout out :)
      Thanks again so much for this as I really appreciate learning more about AP and if you ever start doing TH-cam videos yourself on AP I'll be the first subscriber! :) Hope you're having a great summer and thanks again!

      Hey Andrew! Thanks for your kind words!
      Affinity Photo has so much in it - there's stuff in there that I haven't a clue about like the 'Projections' menu and the 'Slices' export persona - not a clue! But I suppose that's half the fun, trying to figure out what each thing does...
      The Live Filters are particularly useful though but, as I said before, can be a bit buggy. Just make sure you're saving a lot just in case, as I've had a few crashes when using them.
      You're right - the Live Filters probably do need a video of there own but don't worry about a name-check although I must say, the last one you did made my day and almost made me choke on my coffee!!!
      And I'll be leaving the TH-cam tutorials to the experts - chaps like you!
      Thanks again for the great videos and hope the weather's as good for you as it is here in Bonny Scotland!

      Yes the weather is unreal here too in Northern Ireland Steven, makes a nice change! lol
      And dont think I'd consider myself any kind of expert never mind TH-cam but must say finding it a really enjoyable hobby and it has helped me learn AP much better as you said theres so much in it and so much to learn.
      Thanks again for your help and tips as they've def help me alot and make sure ur not drinking coffee if you see a video about live filters from me when it comes out! lol :)

    Hi! Is this perspective tool is also in the Affinity Designer 2 for iPad? Just thinking which one I should buy :).

  • @bradnelson3595
    @bradnelson3595 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    In Affinity Photo 2, the Lens Filter shows up (textually in the list) but is not selectable. So I used the White Balance adjustment and seemed to get the same result.

      This is odd Brad but glad the white balance worked ok too :)

      You're very welcome Konradas! It can take a while to get your head around the way Affinity puts things but once you do you'll be flying! Having a great weekend thanks and hope you are too :)

      @@CreativeGoodman Thanks a lot, Andrew! :) I'm using AD for 4 years now, but started use AP recently (I have it also 4 years). It's really difficult to get the head around, but with Your help I'm already breaking ice :) Thank You!

    Just found your channel and subscribed! Quick question - for someone like me just getting in to photo-editing and compositing, would Affinity Photo (both desktop and iPad) be enough or should I learn Photoshop. One day I hope to turn pro so if I have to deal with others and exchange files would I be able to with Affinity? Thanks!

    • @CreativeGoodman
      @CreativeGoodman  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the sub and question Pesto! You can definitely do great work, and brilliant photo editing & compositing on AP desktop & iPad but Photoshop is still the industry standard at the moment, and most people still use Photoshop (tho currently stay away from their iPad version as it's not great) that said I think AP is a great low-cost way to learning the techniques of photo editing & compositing which then down the line can be transferred to Photoshop if you decided to use it, hope this helps :)
