    Dr. Karen is showing alot of leadership assets. Detailed feedback about the grading which makes it more important than the grade itself. She showed the employee that her efforts were noticed (very important) also some repeated keywords that give good morale to the employee like; excellent, awesome, great. Now the employee feels like their efforts are noticed and they still have alot they can achieve. The worlds needs more Karen Yarrish.

    One thing: no one should be surprised during an annual review by a major comment like customer service not up to par (or not as good as it could be). It sounds like there hadn't been any chance for the employee to know of and rectify the customer service area for improvement. Mid- year conversations are helpful.

    No chance for the employee to say how she did or what went well or badly, and where are her papers and her own set of goals and objectives (SMART) for next year? How will the business support her? Why didn't she smile at students, because as she said she was busy solving their problems.....hum!?
