7:06 Those are mineral water springs. That's why people are filling up there, not because they can't drink the tapwater. Bulgaria is a mountainous country with hundreds of lakes so it has more freshwater then you could wish for.

You're in the square of religious tolerance. A Jewish Synagogue, A Muslim mosque, an Orthodox church, and a Catholic cathedral all close to each other.

Dude, I get the idea to go to a place you totally don't know, but... The statue was of saint Sophia on which our capital is named after.

South Sofia is generally prettier and more developed. Sadly, not many tourists also visit Vitosha Mountain or South Park for instance or the Ariana Lake in Sofia. The smaller streets around Alexandar Nevski and the Zaimov Park area as well as the cool Oborishte neighbourhood full of fancy cafés and bars. All what they know is Vitoshka and NDK. You also have the museum of socialist art, Muzeiko, Museum of Illusions. You can also take tram number 10 and pass through some stunning views in the forest and will cost you less than 1€. Even a ride with the Sofia Metro is pretty cool as the stations are modern and beautiful. Sofia just needs a bit more of research as a city.

Thanks for the informative comment. This video was just my 'first impression' of Sofia really. Thankfully got to explore quite a bit more of it in the next 2 vids :)

First you could've taken Ryinair for about 15 euros from Bucharest to Sofia.
Since you decided on this 7+ hour trip you should at least take the metro(costs 0.80 eur) for 1 or 2 stops and reduce that 20 min walk to 5 min :D

Tap water in Sofia is perfectly fine to drink and is very good. One of the pros of living here. The people are filling up on mineralized water-the type everywhere else is sold for money. Im Sofia, same as many other places in Bulgaria it is free. Yeah we are THAT rich. 😂

Yes I learned after googling it was all spring mineral water, really cool to see the little spots where people fill up like 30 water bottles!😄

You stayed in the worst part of the city. The central station area is by far the worst of Sofia 💀 The whole North-Western side of the city is awful and we don't set foot anywhere near it. Generally, arriving in Bulgaria by land isn't the best choice (aesthetically and in terms of a good first impression). Love your videos though! I just wish you'd had a better first impression. The real Sofia is nothing like that run down area. Look things up before you travel so you can at least have a nice experience.

I have another 2 videos coming up in Sofia 😊 I’m recording / putting out a lot of videos, so naturally they will vary in what I find, and I’m trying to just be more relaxed and myself too. But yes, I’ll explore much more of Sofia in my upcoming vids

Objection Your Honor! Absolutely nothing wrong with Lyulin and Obelya. No Wimbledon or Kensington-granted, but there is far worse in the world.😅
