In this compelling vlog/documentary, we explore the infamous Wolf's Lair, Adolf Hitler's top-secret military headquarters during World War II. Nestled deep in the dense forests of Poland, the Wolf's Lair served as the one of the central commands for the Nazi regime, where critical decisions that shaped the course of the war were made.
In this video, we take you on an in-depth tour of the Wolf's Lair, revealing the hidden bunkers, tunnels, and command centers that played a pivotal role in WWII. We'll delve into the historical significance of this site, uncovering the secrets and stories that have remained buried for decades. From the chilling atmosphere of Hitler's private quarters to the remnants of the assassination attempt known as Operation Valkyrie, every corner of the Wolf's Lair holds a piece of history waiting to be discovered.

I hope you all enjoyed this video, I put a hell of a lot into trying to do this place and the history justice. If you want to visit for yourself, see information below.

(Unfortunately there is very little options with regards to day trips from Warsaw, so it is quite expensive. But the cost is a lot more feasible with 2 or more people). Without a car, getting to nearby Ketrzyn from Warsaw can take around 6 hours by train one way, so a day-trip option with guided tour may be the only feasible option.
These bunkers are so formidable even today that it can possibly survive ww3.
Ive been facinated about the second world war, ever since a kid, myself and my two Sons are planing a trip here, really excited about seen this. The scene in Valkyrie where Tom Cruise is on his way into the wolfs lair is Amazing, the Cinematography is just outstanding, just to see the Soldiers protecting Surrounds of the Compound ,but to actually stand in the presence of this Structure is a Must ,walking in the footsteps of Adolf Hitler ,one Word CHILLING....Thanks for the upload Ben ,great video ,Narrative and Editing 10 out of 10 ......
@@tomennis7414 thanks for the comment Tom, I’m glad you really enjoyed it. It was a fascinating place to visit for you, I hope you enjoy it!
This is the best video on this subject that I have ever seen. I am old and disabled and can't go there personally. This tour is the next best thing. Thanks for your work.
Amazing compliment, thank you. I'm glad I can share the experience with you, it truly is an incredible place. Take care
Great work on this piece! Your blending of video, historical photos, music, and narration are first rate. I have been to this site, and can say you've done it justice.
I really appreciate that, thank you. It's nice to know the time and effort has paid off :) Glad you enjoyed
My father was born in that area in 1941. Rastenburg i believe.
Stauffenberg walked in 80 years ago.
Stauffenberg and Hitler walk into a bunker… sounds like the start of a bad joke 😄
Beautiful Eastern Germany, occupied since 1945.
Good job, I like WW2 history, hope one day I can go to Europe to visit these WW2 places.
"Oh man I'd really like to go there but I'm not supposed to..." "Oh look the hatch is open to the machine gun nest I could get up there but I won't.."
"Thanks for exploring..... and CUT"
(OK now to go exploring! Around this 2x4.......up this ladder..... through these cob webs....😅)
😂 that’s why I wanna go back again…
Hi Ben, Thanks for this awesome video highlighting Wolf's Lair. The video was very fascinating and informative as always.
It must have been a very chilling experience to walk through it's remains. They must have tour groups as I could see a group of people walking by you.
The day or day's you filmed this, the weather looked perfect. Looks like you had abundant Sunshine. Even though many terrible things happened there it is good the the area is maintained and very clean of any debris. The large trees are very stately and stunning to see.
It was an honor to be the first to view this video. I wish you the very best in growing your channel. It is obvious that many hours of work go into creating this production so hopefully you will be rewarded for all your hard work.
Take care Ben until next time.
There were a few tour groups from about 9am, I just tended to wait for them to pass to get clear shots without people in! I would definitely like to go back once more, and maybe explore a little more before the place officially opens.
It was a pleasure to show you it first, I appreciate the support always and always nice to read your comments!
Hopefully see you next Sunday if I can get Plitvice edited on time!
This is an impressive video and extremely professional. Quite easily the best I've seen. It's thoroughly researched and gives a fascinating insight into one of history's darkest fortifications. Many thanks for sharing this.
@@garyrauter8240 thanks Gary. Your comment means more than you know. I went above and beyond for this one, even in terms of reaching the location, letting alone filming, researching, editing. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Only just for around to watching this. As always on this channel. Fantastic video Ben. This is one of last places still need to do in Europe for WW2 . You should get down to Nuremberg. Munich when you get the chance and sneak that eagles nest trip in if you can
Thanks Callum mate. Glad you enjoyed it, it's a must visit! Aye, definitely need to tick off a few more myself, sometime in the next couple of years definitely! Hope you enjoyed your recent trip to Slovenia
Great video Ben! Thanks for sharing. I was wondering about the drone footage...are you allowed to use a drone in those areas in Poland or did you get special permission? Good work, keep them coming :)
Thank you, I appreciate that. I just checked the DJI app to be honest and there were no restrictions! Though if you want to fly yourself you probably should do a bit more digging 😊 thanks!
I visited it few years ago, very interesting place. In general Mazury region in Poland is worth to visit. Full of lakes and a lot of nice Touristic towns like Mikołajki, Giżycko, Ełk and many others. I m from Podlasie in north eastern Poland and i recommand you to visit it when you have oportunity. It has changed a lot, but it is the place where time slows down, there is much less cities ans towns but still a lot of multicultural history behind. There is still a soul of true polish countryside. BTW great videos!
I'd definitely like to go back some day, to explore the other parts of Wolf's Lair too. I can't get enough of Poland!
If you ever go back I would recommend going to the Mauerwald bunker complex & the giant bunker on the Masurian canal, both are close to Wolf's Lair & the German's didn't have time to destroy them so they are fully intact! You would need a car or tour guide to get to them though. Project Riese near Wrocław is also worth visiting!

Hi Ben, going to Poland in four weeks with my son who's 9, planning on going from Gdansk if possible, is there any train links nearby to go near to it? Thanks
I believe you can get a train from Gdańsk to Olzystn, then possibly onto Ketrzyn but you may have to get a coach to Ketrzyn. Wolf’s Lair is then about 10 minutes drive from Ketrzyn (taxi is best).
It would be an incredibly long day if you done it in one go, but possible.
Just checked on: www.polishtrains.eu/results/gdansk-glowny/ketrzyn/2024-10-05?gid=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%3D%3D.
Looks like you can get 2 trains and it takes about 4hrs15. May be best to find somewhere to stay a night to make it more feasible. Best of luck
@@BenRobson123 thanks for the reply Ben, came across your videos today was we are spending 6 nights from Poznan upto Gdansk, but really fancy visiting the Wolfs lair always had an interest in as it has a deep history with Claus von Staffenburg and the failed plot to kill Hitler, suppose if it was a secret headquarters it's not going to be near a main city is it 🤣 great videos by the way will give the Poznan video a watch too, thanks for the information much appreciated
Thanks Ashley! hope you're enjoying yours too, we all miss ya :)
A walk through Mordor!
I really want to go here. I’ve seen so many documentaries on it.
The threat to Hitler’s life was so common, he was known to make all of his staff eat their meals an hour before him so that he could watch to make sure the food wasn’t poisoned.
Have you ever been to the Channel Islands? There’s loads of abandoned German structures you can explore, such as gun batteries, underground hospitals and secret bunkers. It’s all really cool to explore.
ahh I never knew that, very interesting! I haven't mate no, that does sound pretty cool though. Sounds like a fun adventure!
Thank you Ben informative❤
You're very welcome :)
This was cool, thanks.
You’re welcome!
Excellent video mate
Thanks mate, appreciate it 🫡
Well this is not a video I expected to see on my feed today
Surprise 🥳
Fascinating place.
really was mate
Spooky place!
Yep, you could feel it in the air! Although that might've just been nerves of me sneaking into places I shouldn't have been 😁😆
Excellent work on this video!! Loved learning further History!!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed!
Incredible video, Bn! One of your best for sure. Really poignant, thoughtful words and the tone you had for this video was just right. Loved it!
Thanks mate, really glad you enjoyed it. Fascinating place
Between the eerie “music” and ominous backstory, I kept having this feeling that some long dead specter was going to appear or that we'd start hearing Hitler's voice on one of his verbal rampages. That, followed by some intrusive thoughts, left me in shivers.
Yep... there was certainly an unnerving aura in that place. Especially when exploring the destroyed remains and dark passages
Another great video Ben i have learned more history from your video's than i did at school.Keep them coming.
,
Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed. I didn’t care much for history in school either 😄
A great video. interesting tales of past events here and great photography.
Thanks John
Thank you, Ben. Excellent video
You are very welcome! Hope you enjoyed 😊
