    Based my fishing on these kind of videos thanks guys I live in northwest Indiana ... talk about over fished areas ! I canoe fish to try and get an advantage . Dread using crank baits but I went out and bought some strike King 6 xdpro 19 feet diver and BOOM . Went out after a storm caught the biggest bass I ever seen lost it . Wasn't hooked great and wasn't prepared no net ... Went back 3 days later and caught the same bass on the same crank 5.14lbs 20 inches crushed my previous record of 2.93lbs!

Where I live I have a few that the majority of the cover is rock and timbre of some kind? I know you guys are busy I’ve asked this question a few times over the last two years and still haven’t seen a response. You guys are the best

      Use a moderate action cranbait casting rod. 12 lb test line is ideal. Keep your lure weight and line matched up to your rod specs.

      @tacticalbassin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, but we used to do it from shore, then from a floating log, then float tubes, then tiny aluminum boats with oars, then tiny aluminum boats with trolling motors, then outboards, then small bass boats, all before we arrived here. You can choose to gain from all the experience or you can just assume you can't gain anything from the guy with the nice boat.

    I always pick up something new along the way. different hooks depending on how the bass are striking and using a a larger/louder bait to find fish and then sharpening your pencil to locate the bigger one. However my secret sauce is that I throw the lipless crank all summer long.. its a fish. catching machine.

  • @tigers3321
    @tigers3321 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Assume no electronics, how long do you throw a depth and/or color before changing to something different? West TN has been either really good or really bad. Nothing in between.

    • @tacticalbassin
      @tacticalbassin  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its crazy how that happens. Ill usually stick with my first choice until either Ive ran a few good spots and had zero bites, or Ive had a few bites but they aren't eating the bait well. Maybe just slapping at it

    • @oldeschoolbob1022

      @@dropzBiG Depending on where you live in Florida, the air / water temperature changes Tim talks about in this video can be weeks or months behind the rest of the country. Halloween is an exaggeration, but not a completely ridiculous one. Sometimes I think our seasons here consist of "summer", "almost summer" and "cold front" . Good luck out there!

      Really innaccurate and unfair assessment of this channel. Try watching a few more vids, maybe search for specific techniques and you’ll get what you’re looking for. Burn burn pause is just one example. Others I’ve learned: how to stick frogs and boost my hookup ratio; how to retrieve an S-Waiver; how to stroke a jig; how to make a fluke ride on top versus riding deeper; how to retrieve a drop-shot rig; how to find bass in hot weather; I could go on and on and on. And oh by the way my top 3 bass, all over 5 lbs, were caught in the last 2 years based on techniques I learned here, after spending years just throwing Senkos and Worms.

    Got to be honest man, I have watched heavily this summer. Sometimes, I don't know which of your pieces of advice to follow. You said that you wouldn't throw a crankbait in the shallows anymore. You said you would throw a chatter bait every time in the shallows instead of a shallow crankbait.

    • @tacticalbassin
      @tacticalbassin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When the grass get too thick to crank throw the chatterbait. It can be fished or ripped through the grass. I don't throw a squarebill "Through" the grass but over the top of it if possible. Hope this clarifies it for you.
