why such a slow gear ratio reel for crankbaits? Figured a 7.1 or faster would be better?
Deep diving crankbaits have a ton of resistance as you reel them in. It's easier to go fast on a slow, powerful reel than to slow on a fast reel that makes you feel like you're reeling in a 50 pound fish.
