Nice. That’s the spot I’m going to use for my inverter. I still have passenger seats so I have the kicker 10” down firing box and they fit absolutely perfect under the bench seats. Keep up the good work.. I enjoyed watching even if I’m not relocating my speakers
Interesting, now I want to look up the Kicker down firing box you are talking about here. Is it specifically for your bench seat, or does it just happen to fit?
@@blackrockbrewing5141 just happens to fit. They offer 3 sizes, the 8”, 10”, and 12”. The 12” is just a tad bit too tall to fit under the third bench in the rear (4seatbelt bench non-split style) but the 10” fits perfect
Amp those alpine components if you haven't already and sound deden the doors and you'll be blown away. Tread lightly when going down the audio rabbit hole if you choose to.
I always hear you really need to amp the door speakers but I rarely listen at more than 15% volume level. I assumed it was more for clearer sound at high levels but I’m far from an expert!
I’ll try stuffing some more sound deadening on the door skin / framing next time I have the panels off!
I have frequently considered a lumbar mounted subwoofer.

Two Kicker 5 by 8s added to the rear doors with stock front door ford speakers in the Econoline Van It blasts! Great how - to vid on the sub install.👍 Maybe a projector install next vid? Cheers from Vancouver BC.
I was wondering how adding some larger rear speakers would effect the sound. Seems like a night and day difference for cheap! Love it!

I’ll be putting a sound system in my Skooly so I am currently sort of designing the system now I may go with the Kenwood head unit obviously they will have a sub out That way I’ll have four speakers just up in the drivers area. Then in the back I’m going to set up another system for an entertainment area if you will. It’ll be fun
Vibrating passenger seat is a bonus.
Eventually you may wanna look into sound treating the front doors. That’ll help fill in the mid range and mid bass a little better. Soundman, Car audio fabrication, and 5 star car stereo all have great videos on this. Sweet build tho!
Yeah those front doors are seriously giant pieces of sheet metal with one small crease for “rigidity”
The huge air cavity between the panel and the door skin can’t be helping any.
I did line the whole door panel heavily with fiberglass and stuck a bunch of sound deadening on the metal door skin!
Will have to check out those videos and see what the pros are doing these days.

Ha, my friends in the car audio industry refer to that mounting point as the "Lady-pleaser", something about 33hz... shouldn't be a hard sell :P
Been searching forever for information on my rear speaker cabling in my 2018 Chevy express X U-Haul van. The van came with a factory General Motors stereo with left and right and front and rear controls for speakers. I recently put a new Kenwood head unit in and replaced the door speakers. I found the rear speaker wire in the back door which I removed to be able to install rear six by nines in a custom box built into my ceiling. For the longest time was not able to find the speaker for the other side in the rear. I assume since there was one in the rear door , there should be another speaker wire for the other side rear. Watching your video you stated that all GM vans including cargo vans are set up with rear speaker cabling. You stated that it would be in the pillar behind the driver seat? So all I should have to do is run from there to the back with a piece of speaker wire? I will be elated if this is the case can you confirm this again?
why didn't you elevate the seat a tad looks like your suffocating the speeaker.
Hi, can you tell me about your "transition strip?" I have an Econoline and looking for a good way to cover the rubber floor mat that keeps curling up, pretty much at the same seam. What are you using? I'm looking for the same thing in black possibly.
Search around the home improvement stores for “transition strip” here’s one I found in black but only available in 3-foot length:
