  • There is no doubt that the most talented entertainer in television history was Gisele MacKenzie. She danced, she sang, she played violin & piano, she cooked, she even ice skated and did comedy and drama...and did them all to perfection..even God was on her side, giving her the attribute of perfect pitch! In this impressive video Gisele is joined by pianist Roger Williams on NBC-TV's "The Gisele MacKenzie Show" (February 8, 1958) for a production piano duet of the complicated "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" with Gisele's musical director, the great Axel Stordahl, conducting the orchestra.

A more talented creature than Giselle MacKenzie never walked the earth! And a beautiful lady in the bargain!

The kinescopes are from MS MacKenzie's personal collection. She had her entire series on film, but just stacked them in her garage. The films were subject to California heat and humidity and half the shows were ruined. I managed to salvage the rest...thank goodness. Gisele was a very dear friend of mine...without a doubt I have the best Gisele MacKenize collection in existance.

The Arts and Entertainment channel (on the Pacific West Coast) plays her sometimes, along with many, many other wonderful old clips. I'm not positive about the hours, but I believe it's around 10 pm till 6 am weekdays. Also, around Christmas time, Arts and Entertainment plays clips during the day.

Gisele was one of the major 'players' on radio, TV and recordings from 1951 and well into the 1960's, and frequently appeared on variety shows until her death. Do a google search.
