I'm not really a big shoe collector guy but these legit look like a fancy version of the used ones people used to make fun of kids for having.. but now it's all fashion.
Sandy bodecker actually got the last pair. They cut up one and saw that no one was teaching for the third pair. I just watched a video about it before this one lol
Actually there was 3 pairs made 1 sold at auction 1 got cut up and many years later the final pair got given to the sb designer when he left the company
Ok the actual more in depth story is that there were 3 pairs ever made, the first got sold at auction, then the second were cut into 3 pieces, and the third was given to Alexander Bodecker a long time nike creative designer
I that’s the best possible way they could have done that, retaining all the value of the one pair and referencing it at the same time with a cool design. Perfect
Ebay has a thing called the global shipping program, which allows sellers to ship their products globally without having to do the paperwork, but most of the time the program rips open boxes and damages the product inside and what the buyer is usually left with is a cut into pieces thing. Bet thats what happened to all those cut up shoes.
Not what happened, Nike made a sample pair for the charity auction so the buyer knew what they were bidding on & the winner would later receive the shoe in their size, once they did the sample pair was cut into 4 pieces so the buyer (Sandy Bodecker) was the only person with a pair.
I usually am not a fan of collectors shoes I get the appeal just I prefer shoes to be a fictional tool not a collectors items but these are so fucking cool a brilliant way to bring back a shoe they couldn’t sell
Great concept, I was a power seller on eBay until Sandy left around 2009. Then the fees, their percentage turned into the MAFIA!! taking like 25%-30% on anything over $100. didn't hit but bought a sz 11 for $200 w fees for the foot. "SANDY COME BACK!!!!!
These to me says collection and more like in the shelf or somewhere like a mantel piece, an homage to 20 years ago during a charity event. I wouldn't wear them, but would keep them in a special place
As a concept on paper they are good but let's be honest, some people would only buy this as a flex, wear them maybe once for validation from strangers, and store them away never to wear them again and resell them....
Not 100% right, but close. There was said to be one pair, wich sold 4 30k, although there were actually three. Nike sawed one into three pieces(wich inspired this shoe) and therefore made ppl forget about the last hidden pair. Wich was later gifted from Nike to one of their retired employees
I love how the people working are obviously not the that upsest with profit at this point because they’ve made so much money they just making things that are fun..
I tought it was to represent ebay global shipping program trademarked Slash n' Dash. Where they cut through & ruin new in box items shipped worldwide 😂

As someone who sometimes forgets to wear socks under shoes, I see this as an absolute win
Why do they remind me of the play pit from McDonald’s?💀
There were actually three pairs, and only one was sold ,one was cut, and one was given to an employee
“Nike cut my dunks in half. Well not exactly, but they actually cut it into 4 pieces”

Some people forget that clear shoes were a thing in the 2000s.
I doubt those people were even born yet.
It would be best to forget...those things were friggin horrible

It looks cool but I don’t want anyone to look at my socks in public
So basically you bought shoes that looks like they broken, so they're novelty shoes.

Oh they cut this package open too
