I have caught some nice sheepshead but that first one put up a good fight and was really big!

Everytime I've saltwater fished I ALWAYS have shrimp on me, it's just a go to bait 🤷 And you can catch literally anything on them.

On the west coast squid or calamari squid is our candy!! Shrimp is great bait too in any form. Usually we don't use live shrimp as much as you guys do

Shrimp is the best bait to use when fishing the ocean, my favorite is hole poking with my fishing rod, my bag of gear that I need which is very easy to carry and a bag of dead shrimp.

If this is Texas , any knowledge on if fishing in the month of January is any good? I’m from Florida and want to take a vacation to Texas but don’t really know much about the seasons and if the fishing is super slow or if it’s just regular fishing activity.

If you live by the ocean try fishing mangroves with larger shrimp or greenbacks for snook or redfish or go offshore for some grouper and snapper but if you do freshwater I can’t help you unless you are form Florida and if you are just mostly use worms for shellcrackers and catfish and use a assortment of lures for bass
