Yes, Faiz was going through some tough times. He wrote it while he was in prison for the Rawalpindi Conspiracy case. This poem was talking about his longing for his loved ones, little things that he cherishes, the thoughts that were going through his mind while he was alone in prison. Atif Aslam didn't recite the entire poem though. Faiz was at a very low point but his revolutionary zeal wasn't. He ends this poem with "Faiz thii raah sar-basar manzil hum jahan pahunche kaamyaab aaye" (Faiz, the path [itself] was wholly [my] destination [Hence] wherever i reached, i reached successful). You should read his poem called "Hum dekhenge" (we will see). That, in MY opinion, was his best work. ( faiz was also a very staunch communist. The poem "Hum dekhege" was written against the military dictatorship of Zia-ul-Haq. It was eventually banned.)

Well, Pakistan is a part of Greater India. I don't think there's such dichotomy as "Indian" and "Pakistani" music. These are all a part of "Hindustani" gharana of music.
(Many people don't know that Urdu originated in Uttar Pradesh. Some politicians from Pakistan just used it, to create a false identity for a country that should not have existed at all.)
I hope these people reunite one day and Extremist politicians on both side are taught a lesson.

Really liked how you understood the song even thou it was a slow song even for most Pakistanis taste and you are right most of poetry including this one was meant to be interpreted in multiple ways that is a sign of good poetry and ur interpretation is also right one. You're interpretation is correct I don't know why they mentioned humanity in the description or wherever but you got it right to a great extent. There is a bit more to the background of this poetry, but still you have got the gist of it. Love n respect from Pakistan.

Coke Studio was started by my cousin Rohail Hyatt when Coke approached him for season one.He was also the brains behind Pakistan’s iconic band Vital Signs.In between others produced some seasons of the Studio but were not as successful .Rohails rejoined for season 12 after a lot of demand for him to do so.
If you wanna see Coke Studio's best you will have to react to Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's Coke Studio songs. The guy remains the only artist to start and close a Noble peace prize ceremony. The oxford university has a Hall on his name, known as "Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Music Room", the only South Asian Artist to has this honor. And above all, He belongs to a family which has been doing music for Past 600 years.

I don’t really like these comments from you. It is not going to convince me to adhere to any requests you have. You should not assume you know me at all. We do mostly Indian content because they are the vast majority of our audience and we get tons of requests everyday. We love people from anywhere, especially if they dig our content. I have reacted to Pakistan songs, trailers and cricket already here. They typically don’t do well on our channel but I’m not going to stop. These was a request by a great viewer of ours and it was a great request. Of course I noticed in the description box that it was a Pakistan channel. That didn’t make me hesitate one bit. Zara’s has gotten a lot of requests but the trailer itself doesn’t have a lot of views. I was going to do it because of the requests but when we have so many requests we typically start with what is more popular

I wasn’t offended but was taken aback. Subtitles take a lot of time to add. If the original video doesn’t have them then it is hard to add them on our channel.
