      I've seen people saying it was gas in the oil. About a year ago I tried to get it started. I put gas in the tank and it started to flow out of the muffler. It has sit since then. I'll get around to fixing it someday. I seem to always have nothing to do but I'm always busy.;)

      @@Ijustpiddle what happens is the needle and seat goes bad in the carb and the gas fills up in the carb, and the only place it has to go is into the crankcase. When this happens you need to replace the needle and seat.

      LOL! When I lived at this house, the area by the gate was a high travel area. Since this video was made during March of that year the other grass hadn't really grown yet. Trust me, in April that grass in the background really comes in and grows. The backyard at this house got mowed a lot more than the front yard because it grew faster than the front yard. :)

      That is what I've been thinking. Last time I tried to start it, I put some gas in the tank and the gas started to flow out of the carb. It has sat for over a year since then, so it will defiantly need a carb cleaning!

    I got a murray riddin lawnmower just like that 1 and I gave it a motor upgrade cause the old flat head motor had piston slop in it and smoke was just pourin out of the muffler so it’s pretty much rurnt and I gave it a motor with a over head valve design adjustin the valves on a flat head is a pain in the ass and it had 12 hp and the new motor had 17 hp so I just got the old flat head motor sittin on my work table

    I have a 12.5 B%S on my Murray 30" cut riding mower .I am getting no spark . I have 12 volts tat each side of the fuse and it turns over . I need a schematic to see how many safety switches are involved . I have the seat switch always closed with a shim to press it down regardless if you are on or off the seat just like in this video, just press the brake pedal and turn the key like in this vid any response would be appreciated Thanks

    • @Ijustpiddle
      @Ijustpiddle  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can only think of 3 safety switches, clutch, seat and the lever to turn the blades on. Have you checked to make sure the spark plug is sparking? Pull the plug and see if it sparks when grounded. If it doesn't then it could be the ignition coil.

    • @Ijustpiddle
      @Ijustpiddle  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well this was 2 year ago:) I remember looking it up with what to do about water in the crankcase. It was on a lawnmower site and they said to use mineral spirits. Something to the effect of it displacing the water or something. The mower worked good for me for a few months, then just didn't want to run right. Since I had had back surgery and was not getting around very good at the time it went bad, my wife let me buy a new riding mower. Glad I got it as I have a lot more grass to cut at my new house. • @Ijustpiddle
      @Ijustpiddle  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I'm late replying to you. I think my mower had the same problem. I think that the problem is in the carb getting stuck open and letting fuel drain into the cylinder and it is just seeps down around the piston into the crankcase. Maybe clean the carb and make sure everything is functioning correctly.

    • @Ijustpiddle
      @Ijustpiddle  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Maybe. It ran really good. I guess it was gas getting into the oil but the oil never smelled like gas. By the time I figured that out I had already bought a new bigger mower to mow the property where I built my house. This mower just sat outside for about 3 years before I decided to try and fix it. It was too late then. Since the sleeve was cast iron, it rusted and locked up the motor. I decided it was more work, time and money than it was worth to fix that. :)
