Nice man. I been thinking about kswap a fierio. Thought be nice budget sleeper. Glad to see you tried it and it worked well. Keep up the good work man.
Wow, congrats on the ride. Enjoy it! Just one piece of advice... the Fiero driver shouldn't rest his hand on the gear shifter while driving as he can end up forcing the selector fort against the rotating collar for a sustained period of time, causing unnecessary wear (could snap a selector fork or wear down the dog clutch collar, which could potentially lead to further transmission trouble.) I know its a bad habit... I use to do it myself, lol.
You are correct. It's a k20a (basically a k20a3) with a TSX head. We are nearly done assembling his piston/rod k20z3. Shouldn't take long to swap it out along with the new twin disc. The great thing about the kseries is you can now easily remove the engine from above. No need to drop the cradle.
The blur was a budget swap. I reused as many Honda and fiero components, bought used parts, etc. It's a k20a3 w/ EP3 SI 5 speed. Cost was about 3k. My 88, well, a lot.
@@BVM03 Thanks for the reply! Definitely cheaper than I anticipated. (I was thinking maybe 5-10k.) Do you think this swap would be possible in an 84? I've been wanting to get rid of my old klunky Iron Duke and the K series is a pretty great engine, plus will give me enough power for the stuff I want to do in this car.
@Rraptor1012 I haven't messed with an 84 in 20yrs. It should swap pretty much the same. Depending on what intake manifold you use, you may have to reroute the 84 only.engine bay harness.
I'd think I'd want a Fiero to me that car is the smart car of the 1980s.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is a much more sensible fiero swap than an LS. It isn't gonna wreck the handling with a big heavy engine.
I can't wait till you guys are back in stock 😍

Good call!
just amazing just wow what a time to be alive
That looks just like ricermiatas old house/moms house in Connecticut.
If our 3800sc swapped gets 30mpg the blur has to be 40mpg.
That is a beautiful car. I can't remember, does the blur have the K24? Or the k20 block with 24 head

@@BVM03 so awesome, thanks for the reply!
@@BVM03 What was the approximate cost for the swap?
@@electric8668 a basic swap could be done for about 4-5k.
84 james dean see, opposing piston swap, front and back, with eray inginuity mars jump.
Man's scared to hit vtec smfh
About how much did this swap cost? What transmission do you have in the Blur?

@@BVM03 Okay, thanks for the swift answers! This will be very helpful!
Sounds like its surging or something?
Yeah. We had to do the idle learn twice.
Not once did I hear any vtec in this video. But nice ride
More to come!
