happiness falls yes!!! probably my own favorite book of the year. I recommend checking out Shark Heart, i know you aren't the biggest fan of 'weird' books most of the time but that one is so beautiful, i think you might actually end up enjoying it!
Ooh adding Leftover Woman to my TBR! I loved Stars in Your Eyes too- was a pleasant surprise because I don't generally like stories about actors but I love the author so wanted to check it out. SO glad I did! I also loved Divine Rivals, Love Theoretically, and Yours Truly. And absolutely adored both Wishing Game and Happiness Falls. Have you read Check and Mate by Ali Hazelwood yet? It's YA and about chess vs stem - another win from Ali for me.

I do all my reading through Libby and Kindle Unlimited when I can get it for free. Out of your books I have 🎧 to Rootless, The Only One Left, The Last Word, The Wishing Game, Happiness Falls. Happiness Falls was my favorite of these as well. I feel similarly to you about Rootless. I wasn't sure if I really liked it because the tough content but I think about it a lot.

I enjoyed The Intern in 2023. The Writing retreat was not my favorite, but that's what makes books interesting. 🙂
