His example of Pakistan unilaterally abrogating 35 in GB in 1974 is worth remembering. The Indian Government had already used that example. Mr Bashani is worthy of respect, thanks to his honesty and his directness.
Dr Ahmed is a true academic, willing to defend the rigor of his research against all comers and critics! Sadly, his understanding of Bharat, which civilisationally is very removed from the Hobbesian ideas of the individual greed being the ruling principle of life. That is, btw, totally the Abrahamic conception of things.

Have been watching Hamid Bashani for at least 10 years, always found him logical, sensible and factual. Dr. Isthtiaq you need to control your emotions. I was expecting an apology from a learned person like you sometime during the conversation after you puked that nonsense. I felt so sad watching a loud mouth accuse Hamid in such a manner. To quote Martin Luther “You are not only responsible for what you say, but also for what you do not say”.

Hello Mr. Gora👋, with all due respected Sirs, I just want to know from Prof. Ishtiaq, what does he mean by saying "repeatedly from every PLATFORM that "WHY DON'T INDIA 🇮🇳
HAVE RELATIONSHIP LIKE EUROPE 🇪🇺? My dear Sir, their was a conflict in EUROPE 🇪🇺 and it solved? Why? Because they had problems within themselves on the same RELIGION? Whereas India🇮🇳 has problems with pakistan's🇵🇰 TWO NATION THEORY?
Why don't Prof. Ishtiaq understand this SIMPLE LOGIC? EUROPE 🇪🇺 has nothing to compare with INDIA'S 🇮🇳problems. (2 ) Problem is PAKISTAN 🇵🇰? THANKS ❤️ AND JAI HIND ❤️ 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳

Dr. Ishtiaq sahab you are very learned but you seem to get angry when your views are challenged. I have never seen Bashani sahab try and score brownie points. He does however share his views without hesitation. Bashani sahab is 100% correct on matters whether it is Pakistan pushing nuclear blackmail, or disintegration of Pakistan and emigration to Europe and its consequences or the impact of Pakistan’s bankruptcy on International economics. These arguments are threats.
Ishitiaq sahab you are needlessly bringing RSS into the mix. Bashani sahab is correct when he observes that peace will have to be sought by Pakistan unconditionally and proactively. Although I believe that peace will finally emerge unconditionally through irrelevance of Pakistan and withIndia lovingly but firmly ignoring the enfant terrible of the subcontinent - namely Pakistan - as India is doing presently.
I feel that intellectuals need to be honest and demonstrate integrity as Bashani sahab does. His logic, and intellectual integrity are unimpeachable. He is refreshing in getting to the core of the issues and being truthful without attempting to draw a false equivalence or trying to balance the narrative.
Tahir sahab you continue to amaze and inspire. Listening to Dr. Ishitiaq sahab, Bashani sahab and you is always informative.
    Thank you.

Barrister Hamid bashani argument was not against ishtiaq sir but it was against pak foreign policy itself, Dr. Ishtiaq couldn't hear the truth that's why he was so disrespectful against Hamid bashani. Trade & Aman cannot happen until Pakistan stops propogating terrorism. Period.

I always knew that all these so-called Pakistan-centric discussions, by those who have Pakistan's welfare in mind, would be skewed in terms of the viewpoints of the speakers, except for the occasional panelist who speaks matter-of-factly. I had no doubt that Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmed is a true patriot at heart, desiring his country to surpass India in various walks of life and fields, even though he reluctantly acknowledges India's achievements since independence. I could easily discern in his mind that, deep in his heart, he wishes for Pakistan to excel in every area. When that doesn't happen, he becomes easily frustrated, and this frustration is evident in every word he utters.
So, it is time for Indians to shed any emotions they may harbor for the kind words spoken about India by Pakistani thinkers, analysts, or anyone of note and realize that these words may not truly reflect their inner sentiments. Lastly, simply obsessing over Pakistan won't do any good for Indians. They should examine these Pakistani viewpoints from a dispassionate vantage point to gain a more accurate understanding.
