Good review. I agree, disappointing book. The author doesn't seem like a real fan. He doesn't even put Zuko's scar on the wrong side in the Ember Island Players.
I honestly was looking forward to this book when I heard about it, because I honestly thought we were going to get more information about the Gaang, primarily Aang and Katara's, lives between the first series and Korra. Like, maybe we'd get some stuff about the Air Nomads, but for the most part, it would be more personalized for Tenzin. When I learned it was basically just a history/geography book with occasional letters from the Gaang, my interest dropped quite a bit.
I think you give the wiki a little too much credit here, the author here previously wrote The Lost Scrolls books which is where some of that info on the wiki comes from, but more fans know the wiki as opposed to those books. I agree that this book gave very little information, but it should be made clear that even though this is repeat info, it is repeat info from the same author. The wiki gets its info from somewhere.
I THINK that flier at 25:28 is from "The Deserter" (Season One, the episode Aang burns Katara). Remember that scene at the beginning of the episode? Aang, Katara, and Sokka found a flier for the Fire Day's Festival outside of a Fire Nation colonial-town.
+Pedro Vieira She mentions in the book that she got a friend of hers to draw/write the story for her. Same situation as the letter she sends to her parents, Katara helps her.
Do you think I should get this book for my sister? I tried looking for the legacy of the fire nation but it’s sold out and the only places I can find it are very expensive. She is a long time fan and I hope she will enjoy this, your thoughts?
If she is a big fan of the show then I think she will enjoy this book. It is tricky because every fan looks for something different out of books, but this is a pretty unique book and if she doesn't have anything like it I am sure it will be well received. I would definitely recommend Legacy of the Fire Nation over this, but Legacy is definitely a good book also.
How could Avatar Aang write about multiple portals if he only ever knew about one? This is supposed to be written by Aang right? Continuity wise, it's correct.
Don't think anyone has bothered to put this book up online, seeing as it was a pretty big letdown and in general is not very well known even in the hardcore fandom. Chances are very low of it being scanned online.
+Aaron Street Ah yes, the Fire Days Festival. That is a fairly obscure reference to have as a pullout in this book, not exactly one of the go to items to include. Really surprised they do not mention what it is in the book.
@@AirspeedPrime yeah I assume aang or katara I feel like katara might of wrote tophs part considering the fact she’s often associated with helping Toph with that stuff
The wiki attributes that wrongly. It refers to the wrong book, this book Avatar Legacy does not mention that at all. What it is referring to is a book similar in style to this called "Legacy of the Fire Nation", the page does not mention anything specifically about Sozin favouring Azulon over another family member, instead just notes that what Zuko suffered at the hands of his father, him favouring Azula over Zuko is a thing that has been happening in the royal family for generations going back to Azulon and Sozin. It is more referencing that Iroh and Ozai were rivals for the throne which kind of messed up their relationship and Azulon just let it happen since that is the way. It mentions nothing specific about Sozin favouring Azulon over someone else, as far as we know Azulon was his only child so of course he was next in line. That page is basically getting across the approach of the royal family and how the throne would often pit siblings against each other to get favour from the fire lord etc. If you want more info on Legacy of the Fire Nation I have 2 videos up on my channel about it, I got an early review copy which has a spoiler free review here th-cam.com/video/IDj1_QIPhO4/w-d-xo.html and a full spoiler review here th-cam.com/video/O-iPHGx1jsM/w-d-xo.html
This book is more crappy than useful for real fans who want to know more....I hate it when they dont give 100% creating such things -.- especially the things that make no sense!!! Awful! As if bryan and mike didnt check it :'(
water: winter

+Ian Kevin Haha Ikr. I've read fanfiction ten times better than this book.
Your Zuko costume is great but your scar is on the wrong side

Yea,I though so too based on the cover but nnoooo,it just was most of the stuff we already knew from the series already.
the flyer from the fire nation is comning from book 1 water chapter 16 the deserter. it's a flyer for a firenation festival. :)
I feel like the dude that make this book just went on the wiki and copied and pasted lol

Oh yeah. Nice
They did even mention the life of the foggy swamp tribe, SMH
besides your review is very good. I agree with the fact that there isn't enough information about several things.
"Toph writing"... Okay... Blindness! You are amazed!
+Pedro Vieira She mentions in the book that she got a friend of hers to draw/write the story for her. Same situation as the letter she sends to her parents, Katara helps her.
Oh, phew! That was what I tought, but you didn't mention so my mind was blowed a little. Thanks!
What pages legacy

Thanks! She said she wanted a Avatar book a while ago, I guess this is the next best thing from the legacy of the fire nation.
Has she read the Avatar comics? Or the Avatar Novel The Rise of Kyoshi? Those are books I would recommend over stuff like Legacy.
AirspeedPrime Yeah, she’s read them all except the Avatar Legacy and Legacy of the fire nation
How could Avatar Aang write about multiple portals if he only ever knew about one? This is supposed to be written by Aang right? Continuity wise, it's correct.
do u guys know where i can read it for free online? i really want to read it

@@AirspeedPrime can you put it online. Please 🙏 i can't buy the book because of virus
I’m actually buying this book now I’m regretting it-
The random flyer is from the Fire national festival in season 1, with Jon Jon

+AirspeedPrime The page that has the pullout also has the masks that Sokka and Aang wore during the festival
Wait Toph can’t write one of the other members of team avatar must have wrote her part
I would assume Aang wrote what Toph said since the idea of this book is that Aang puts it together for Tenzin.
@@AirspeedPrime yeah I assume aang or katara I feel like katara might of wrote tophs part considering the fact she’s often associated with helping Toph with that stuff
I am so getting this ! Thks dude
In the Wikia site of the last Avatar says that this book confirmed that Sozin favoured Azulon as his heir over other family member. Was it mentioned?

Obviously the Dai Li censored the book by taking it to Lake Laogai.
can i have that book in german?
Same
how many pages are in this book?
Around 60 or so pages of content. Plus the pull out items.
@@AirspeedPrime thanks!

+Ichigo2058 I don't think they were involved at all in this book. Which pretty much explains why there are only tiny pieces of new info.
yes...but they shouldve at least checked the whole book...
Given when I think this book was primarily written, I don't think they would have had time to oversee this book.
I,m soooooo late
Why are you moving his head so much
I am just fairly expressive when I talk. Apologies if it is distracting.
